The only way I could get it to work was by editing Shandara's profile to my gear set and saving it under my name. Creating a new profile did not work no matter what I did. Importing from armory imported the gear but would not give me any damage stats at all. Just putting my gear into a new profile manually did the same thing--no stats.

Question, are the figures for dps from scorpid poison correct? They seem ridiculously high.

I'm not sure what's going wrong for you. Are macroes enabled? Is the security level right? Can you upload your version of the sheet somewhere for me to look at?

Well it's working now with what I did. I'll let you know if I have a problem creating another profile. I'm using Excel from the Office XP pack with SP3. It's the 2002 version it says. Version number 10.6847.6845

My question about the scorpid poison though. I was looking at all the pets to see which were best for dps. My cat still was the best until I got to the scorpid. When I plugged their poison ability in, it said it did 395 dps at lvl 80 which made the total dps for the scorpid 120 more than for a cat. That just doesn't seem right.

The only way I can make a new profile is to change the name of one, load my working profile on the gear tab, then save it under the new profile. Then I have one I can edit. Starting one from scratch and trying to import from armory just gives all N/A's in the boxes and trying to add gear to an empty one does the same thing.

The crit box for ranged weapons does not register correctly or change when you change the weapon---it always says 13 no matter what crit the weapon has.

Love the fact that you are keeping this up. My issue is the same as an above poster though. I can't upload anything from armory on either character. I'm having to manually enter in all my stats, talents, etc. I get no indication on whether there is an error, or whether the sheet is actually doing anything.

Then again, I could just be having a senior moment. Any chance of getting instructions sheet on setting up a profile.

Are you able to enter your name and realm into the space on the Overview tab? When I first downloaded Microsoft had decided to lock the file, saying it was from another computer, which let me use the dropdown boxes but not type things in.

Is there any way to select naxxramas and other 25 man instances on the gear planner tab? i am on a mac so most of the functions do not work for me, but in v78 you decided to deselect the raid instance options on default and i have no idea to select them.
If i try to 'unprotect the sheet' in the menu it am asked for a password.
Also the Zombie Sweeper Shotgun is still absent on the spreadsheet.
I envy you guys who can just import from armory, I have to manually redo all my gear, spec, buffs etc on each new version

I imagine that this is another vista security "feature"- if there's no way for you to upgrade to XP, then I suggest looking around in both the excel security settings and the general word security settings for something that talks about trusted sources for macros.

I don't have vista, so I can't tell you for sure where to find this option...

'lo, I'd like to know if at the Glyph of Steady Shot that Serpent Sting required is needed to be your own or it's counted also from whoever from the raid has it on boss... so for example if I'm Marksman spected and refreshing Serpent Stings does that Serpents Sting I refresh counts for other hunter in the raid with the Glyph of Steady Shot?

Right click on the file and go to properties, and on the bottom it should say "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer." Just hit the Unblock button next to it.

This is with Windows XP btw. I just noticed it doing this the last few days, I'd never seen it before.

I believe that any hunters Serpent Sting works.

does anyone know the pw to unprotect the spreadsheet so we can log our own custom numbers in for gear that's not registered on the spreadsheet yet?

PS: if not can the maker of the spreadsheet plz add Gored Hide Legguards and Giantmaim Bracers stats are as follows:

You can't change the cells on the gear tab. You have to go to the custom tab, enter the stats in the appropriate places and then go back to the gear tab and choose custom from the options for that particular gear slot.

I think the problem is that people /can't/ change the cells for custom gear. I can't change custom gear cells, default gem drop-downs, or any character info on Overview. I did the Properties->Unlock thing mentioned above but that didn't fix it. I have /no/ experience with Excel (I normally use OO), so I don't know how to change security settings for it.

Given a lot of people are asking for gear/enchants to be added to the spreadsheet, I wonder if this could be automated easily? We already import our gear and talents from the Armory, is it possible to get gear from there too? or perhaps from WoWhead?

This would allow users to update their spreadsheet with the latest gear, and make things easier on you as you could just update the gear at certain intervals (say a patch is out).

I hope I'm not stepping on the author's toes by saying this, but you can easily unprotect a workbook without the original password. Google.

The password isn't there to frustrate users, but rather to prevent the inadvertent changes to cells that aren't supposed to be changed.

I'm very much surprised a few users have such big problems with the sheet, because I have not been able to find any cells that are locked when they were supposed to be editable. I very much think it's a problem with their setup, because I haven't had a flood of PMs regarding the issue.

Are all cells non-editable, or just a few specific ones?

I haven't tested every single cell but I cannot change anything in Overview, any of the Default Values in Settings, or any cell in Custom Gear.

The default values in Settings can't be changed at least, use the yellow 'custom value' field next to it.

I have no problems at all, however I believe he wanted to edit your internal gear list thingy to add some new items without using the built in custom gear tool -- I have no idea how these mammoth types of spreadsheets work.

The only reason why I unprotected mine was to change some font/size settings. And as you said, because it's unprotected I now have to be careful that I dont muck something up!
