Question about attack power vs. agility for BM hunters. Using Beast Tamer's Shoulderpads and 2 pc T7 bonus, my pet cat is responsible for well over 50% of my damage on most if not all boss fights. Given that AP now "scales" with Trueshot Aura in much the same way that Agility "scales" with Blessing of Kings, and seeing as how the only stat (aside from hit) that my pet benefits from is AP, would not AP be the superior gem/enchanting choice?

The spreadsheet SEEMS to suggest so: Using my gear and spec it displays AP as 0.943 per item budget and AGI as only 0.781. However, when going from all 20 AGI gems and AGI to gloves enchant to 40 AP gems and AP to gloves enchant; The result is nearly a 100 dps drop.

So I guess I have 2 questions: Firstly: why, if the spreadsheet's attribute budget calculator shows AP to be the superior stat, am I showing a loss in dps when gemming/enchanting for it? Secondly: which, then is in reality the superior stat for a BM hunter in entry level T7 raid gear, given that both Blessing of Kings and Trueshot Aura are typically present?

On the Settings tab Gem Options cannot be changed, I think this is a bug.

The extra blacksmith socket enchant is in the works, but I need to figure out how to pull that from Armory first before I add it.

Awesome. [Bjarngrim Family Signet] has a typo though (it's Bjarngrim, not Bjarngrin.) Also, the [Heartseeker Scope] doesn't seem to load right from armory.

I need to know the tooltip texts for some of these enchants/scopes so I can scrape them correctly.

Only perused the last couple pages to see if this had been reported recently, but the Belt Buckle "enchant" that adds a socket to a Belt item does not seem to be supported.

Edit: Also thought I'd report that I'm also unable to load my information from the Armory. I get: "Run-time error '91': Object variable or With block variable not set". Debugging highlights this line:
Using Office '07.

Edit 2: [Figurine - Emerald Boar] is just listing as "Emerald Boar" under the Trinket list, and no gems are showing up in the drop-down gem list for it.

Are you trying to change the protected cells? This is common. At the top ensure that "Use Defaults" is set to no, and then instead of trying to change the gems, you should be adjusting the adjacent cells (Light Yellow? Cells F15-F18).

That should fix the problem.

Couple of minor problems:

* Master's Inscription of the Axe (Inscription Shoulder enchant) isn't supported via armory. The tooltip shows up as "+104 Attack power and +15 Crit rating".

* Kill Shot is never used (although this might be user error).

Working as a MM hunter with the shot rotation tab- Serpent Sting shows no dps when coupled with chimera shot.

If you remove CS it shows Serpent sting in the rotation (and net dps for it). With CS it shows zero.

My shot rotations i tried were

Rapid fire
Serpent Sting
Chimera Shot
Steady Shot

What am i doing wrong?

Kill shot is used in the calculations page- that's why there's a section asking how long your boss fight is and how much combat time you spend in the sub 20% range.

The Kill Shot thing is a bug. It will be fixed next release.

A work-around is setting the Boss HP Percentage on the Settings tab to 15%.

Is there a "how to" guide on the spreadsheet? It's pretty overwhelming for first time users.

If not, I'd be willing to help write one- I just figured it out for the first time yesterday, so all my dumb questions I had to look up are still fresh in my mind.

I don't know much about spreadsheets but is it possible to import gear info from one sheet to another or do you always have to manually change the sheet to your gear when downloading the next version? I've tried the Export to File and Import to File but they don't seem to do anything at all for me. Thank you for all the hard work on the sheet.

Surefooted: Reduces the duration of movement impairing effects by 30%. As such should be highlighted to red. Purely cosmetic, but want to ensure that the talent isn't using its old information. (+hit).

I'll be looking it over further today at work. I do a lot of excel stuff, and I always love to help this document as much as I can as it has helped me significantly.

As an aside I'd really love to make a proposal to finalize items in this spreadsheet. I'm in favour of grandfathering old TBC items and only including WOTLK items. With this I'd love to see more definition between what we currently have. As it stands we don't really have a good outline of the items. My proposal is to have the following for item designations/filtering (for the gear planner).

It does matter. The reason is for preplanning. Even though I'll be the level 80 raider in the end game instance I'll just tick everything off. For the alts and people that are new to this I think we should be a lot more caring.

Sure they can use Lootrank.com or something, but why can't this item be the one stop shop for everything hunter related. I think we can work towards being a lot more inclusive than exclusive. We'll get a whole hell of a lot more people here if we do and more good comes from that then bad.

Yea, I get the preplanning. I do that. I look for potential upgrades, find out where they drop, and compare them to the list i currently have. I plan and plot my gear as much as i can. I just didn't see the need for 17 different option on/off toggles. Either way is fine I'd think.

Perhaps not the best place to ask but does anyone know if [Item not found!] procs off serpent sting?

I was missing around with haste in the latest version, and the Haste to Cap cell seems to be reporting lower. It seems to indicate that 401 haste is needed to be haste capped instead of the 523 for an MM build. This is the value that came out repeatably for me after hitting Calc Attributes and with adding the current haste rating from gear with this value. This was done with no haste buffs.

Is this an error? Or am I misunderstanding how that field works?
