Are you taking into account the crit reduction when attacking a lvl83 target? You must push the crit over 104% (cant remember the exact number) and not 100% in that case.

On a separate note. I am still trying to figure exactly which glyph I should use as my third one (TSA, Kill, Hawk). Will the spreadsheet take into account the increase number of Auto shots when using Glyph of the Hawk and modify the uptime of the T10 2pc proc? Currently I see no change when I swap the glyph in and out and therefor I think the value of the glyph is slightly decreased. Could this possibly push it over TSA/Kill shot on a stationary fight such as Saurfang?

The critdepression is 4.8%, though I believe the spreadsheet has taken that into account already.

I have seen the glyph make a difference in the sheet for my SV spec. When I spec with 1 point in Imp AotH, the glyph shows as a DPS gain over Glyph of Steady Shot. When I spec 2 points into Imp AotH though, the glyph shows as a DPS loss from Glyph of Steady Shot. I can't say for sure here at work, but I believe it was still showing an uptime difference with/without the glyph, the value was just smaller with more points in Imp AotH. Perhaps if you have 5/5 the difference is too small to notice?

Actually, you are on to something. I tried to spec out of Imp. Hawk completely and remove the glyph. The uptime remained 23.31%. After that I started adding points one by one with and without the glyph. The uptime changes from 23.31% to 23.32% and thats all.

Since I have no haste at all on my gear, I tried to swap in 1 gem. Adding just 10 haste increased the uptime to 23.38%. Adding another 34 haste gem increased it to 23.63% and so on.

So the spreadsheed takes passive haste into account when it comes to calculating the T10 2pc uptime, but it seems that Imp Hawk and Glyph of the Hawk have no effect on it.

How to turn on re-gemming

A couple of times in the Gear Planner I've seen the option come up "Current item with re-gem" in green. However, it is very uncommon and I can't work out what I'm doing to get this feedback.

I'm currently trying to work out what re-gemming options are recommended on my gear and what would give the most efficient improvements. Can this spreadsheet provide that information? If so, how do I turn this feature on?

On the Settings tab I've tried:
* Use defaults = Yes and Use 'Current item with Regem' = Yes
* Use defaults = No and Only Show Epic Gems = No

I do know about the 'Regem' button on the gear tab but the problem with this is that there's no easy way (that I've seen) of keeping track of what gems it's changed without copying and pasting everying into 2 lists for comparison.

Any guidance would be appreciated. I'm using v93e.

Many Thanks

...
There are a few reasons I've seen the re-gem lines come up.
  1. An item's socket bonus is entered incorrectly in the spreadsheet. So it thinks you didn't use the best blue socket for the Nightmare Tear.
  2. You didn't put the Nightmare Tear in the best blue socket for a socket bonus.
  3. You used gems other than the default gems on the settings page and one (or more) of those default gems would be better than what you used.
  4. You are under or over hit cap and changing gems to correct your hit rating would provide better DPS.

I noticed something strange while I was playing with the spreadsheet today. I made a setup with 1400 ArP, which should be 100% ArP and the attribute table agrees that ArP doesn't increase dps. I went to buffs section and took away Sunder from debuff list and to my surprise, dps decreased. The same was true for Faerie Fire. Shouldn't these two have no effect when I'm at 100% ArP since they are calculated multiplicatively?

First off, thanks again - I use this sheet to plan my need / greed and it has never let me down.

I am getting high figures for the + hit. Last night I raided at only 242 hit and had one miss on six ICC bosses. Seems +hit would not be all that valuable compared to ArP and Agil at this point, but it is shown much higher. Where am I failing?

For the re-gem I use my toon in the armory and set that window next to the spreadsheet. Easy to compare them that way and I just write down the gems I need with where they go.

Think about it for a moment.
We are dealing with RNG. That means we are never sure of anything in that regard. By your reasoning Crit isn't worth it either as when you gemmed for Agi you didn't actually get more crits, so obviously AP is better. I am pretty sure you can see where that fails.

Besides, I think our pets still work with that full percentage conversion problem, as well as the Expertise conversion. And that is a dead solid loss.

Thanks Devan.

I am currently over hit cap and know I have at least one socketed gem with +hit
All other gems are generally +Ag or +Ag/+Crit or +Ag/+Stam but never the epic gems, always one below.
I've even left my chest piece (Hauberk of a Thousand Cuts - 1 red, 1 blue, 1 yellow, socket bonus) with only a red gem and I'm still not able to trigger anything.

I know I could get better DPS, the 'Regem' button on the Gear tab shows this, but I'm still stumped on how to get Gear Planner to show me this?

The gear planner tab uses the same regemmer that the gear tab uses.

If you're interested how to get the dps of an item listed on the gear planner tab, just equip it and then hit "Regem". That should lead to the same status as what the gear planner used.

Normal version of Precious's Putrid Collar (ID 50852) has
- a red socket (instead of none) with a socket bonus of 4 Agi
- Agi: 72 (instead of 80)
- Haste: 43 (instead of 51)

Re-Gem Options

Hello everyone.

I have a problem that i cannot change the Gems in the Settings Tab from 20 Agi to 20ARP.
When i try it it says the Site, Tab or Graph is locked.
I tryed to unlock it but it wants a Password to do that.
Is there a way to change the Gems?

For infos:

I am using MS-Office 2007 German version.

You can change your gems in the "Custom Value" column, not "Default Value".
