I keep getting an error when trying to load your survival profile, it says your character doesn't exist. Is this a common bug or did you xfer servers?

My problem is still occurring (as it is for SenorPez now). I'll put in some numbers.

The sheet is Survival specced, no points in Focused Aim and I use a Cat for DPS.

My hit (on the sheet, which is out) is 102.37%. In-game I have 10% Hit (328 Rating).

The piece I'm replacing is Torn Web Wrapping (29 Hit Rating or 0.88% Hit).

The new piece is Depraved Linked Belt (no Hit Rating). The Gear Planner says Depraved is 12.36 DPS better (and would take me to 101.49% Hit). When I change to that belt on the Gear tab DPS drops from 5720.42 to 5771.71 (instead of the 5732.78 it would be if the Gear Planner were correct).

Both have the Belt Buckle, both use a 16 Agi Gem. No other changes to pet, spec, rotation, etc.

Unbuffed, Depraved loses 18 AP, 0.88% Hit, 0.02% Crit and gains 1.52% Haste.

Don't think I missed anything there.

Did you recalculate the gear values before switching?

Even so, it's more accurate to equip the gear to check. Due to the interaction between all the dps stats, you can't tell the exact dps difference between A and B until you actually switch it in the spreadsheet.

Recalculating while wearing either, then switching to the other, both result in the same thing, gear planner says about 13 DPS increase for Depraved, switching shows a 3 DPS or so increase for Torn.

I can see a difference between the two calculations, but that's a pretty large margin of error, given that most of our upgrades have always been only about 15 DPS difference :S

Even so, just looking at the differences, after Kings and it's only going to be about 10 AP and 0.88% Hit VS 1.52 Haste and a bit of Crit. That just doesn't make sense to me that the first would be better given even after the change I'm almost 2% above the Hit Cap.

To the posters above:
I think I've tracked down what is going wrong. It's a bug that occurs when you have more than 101% hit-chance. I should have it fixed for the next release.

On a related note I have started pruning out TBC gear since 99% of it is no longer competitive. Probably the only things I'll keep in are the trinkets, the Beast-Tamer shoulders and the legendary bow.

If anyone can make a compelling argument why TBC gear should remain in the sheet, please do so.

I'd keep the T5 set, if only so people can work out which 2 pieces are the least DPS loss. (The bonus remains useful in some situations)

Update:
- Fixed Overview DPS breakdown to correspond to other tabs
- You can now use Wowhead/MMO/Official talent calculator URLs to import talent specs quickly
- Fixed some bugs with exporting/importing. Also for future ease profiles will import/export in chunks now (Gear, Talents, Settings and Misc separate) so people won't have to re-do everything when I make changes to it. Unfortunately this breaks compatibility with the previous sheet. I've added a conversion routine that hopefully will import V81 data correctly, but I make no guarantees.
- Fixed a bug with the gear planner involving pet hit above 100%
- Lock & Load now 3/7/10% proc chance on Serpent Sting tick
- Added an option to delete the currently selected profile (also clears gear/buffs and talents)
- Removed most of the pre-WotLK gear
- Explosive Shot full resist chance removed per testing by Esoth
By popular request (well actually noone has PM'ed em about this before, which was a surprise), you can now import talent URLs from popular talent calculators (Wowhead/MMO/Official website).

I've removed all Classic and TBC gear, EXCEPT:
* T5 set
* Beast-Tamer's Shoulders
* All trinkets
* Legendary Bow (not out of any practical use, just a wishful gesture)

This has cut the amount of items in the sheet by about half and has, for me at least, made a considerable difference in processing speed. If people feel item XX from TBC should still be in there, PM me, and if you have a good reason it is easy to add it back in (or you could just open the respective tab yourself and add it).

I've made some changes to the way importing/exporting works as well, which should make it easier for me to make future additions to various sections without ruining all your exported data. Conversion should be automatic, but talent specs might be messed up so be sure to check them.

After you verify that the sheet is still correct, be sure to export it again in the new format.

On a personal note. I will be out of town the whole next week so any PMs and such will not be answered.

Shandara, some weapons are broken in v82, e.g., Claymore of Ancient Power and Akil'zon's Talonblade. (The first isn't listed at all and the second gives #N/A to all weapon columns.) It looks like Claymore was deleted accidentally, and a bunch of the TBC weapons get a type mismatch error. I see this problem in the spreadsheet as downloaded, no other changes.

I've re-uploaded v82 with the updated melee weapon drop-down menu (I had forgotten to adjust them after pruning TBC weapons from the list). Akil'zon's Talonblade has been removed so that's why it shows up as #N/A. The Claymore is in there though.

These ratings are still at their Live values in v82. Since Mining was changed from health to stamina as per PTR back in v81b, would it be possible to include this change soon for all of us skinners out there? Thank you.

This one slipped my mind, sorry. Re-uploaded the same v82 with the new skinning bonus.

Superior Mana Oil doesn't work on lvl 80 2hnd weapons but you can still take in in the buffs list. Also missing Mega Mammoth Meal.

Edit doesn't matter on dps calculations if you take the oil I see.

The oil does matter if you're on a mana shortage. But more to the point, the sheet doesn't check everything. I leave a lot to your own discretion.

As for the mammoth meal I have not added every food buff in the game because so many cover the same stats. Use the Poached Northern Sculpin if you want +80 AP/+40 Sta.

Perhaps it would be an idea to label the foods as "80AP/40Sta Food" instead of give them names like Poached Northern Sculpin to make it easier for people.

This idea could also be spread to the Gem section, and I think it's fair by now to exclude all pre-Wrath and green gem cuts (aside from Shifting, seeing as theres no rare version.)

Flipping through the gem list looking for something I'm not sure about the name of is one of the most annoying parts of the spreadsheet. Not asking to re-invent the wheel, but I don't think anyone in their right mind is going to use old-world gems. I'm sure the same can be said for enchants as well.

Changes to the gem, enchant and food list would probably remove a good amount of bloat from the spreadsheet.

Any idea why I can't click on any of the buttons?(Import, export, load from armory, save/load profile, etc.) Do I need to install something?

Downloaded this update and it worked for me. Download details: Update for Office 2003 (KB907417)

It's probably been brought up before, but incase it hasn't I just noticed that the 1% crit to bows Troll racial isn't accounted for in the spreadsheet, or at least it isn't in the gear planner.

It is displayed on the 'race' line on the Gear tab if you are a dwarf with a gun or a troll with a bow. But you are correct that it is not considered when comparing upgrades on the Gear Planner.

As for the food/gems' names being confusing. I agree. I'll have to think about how to do this in the best way.

Agreed, though please keep the green Northrend gems in. The green Northrend gems are better than the epic (and even the JC only iirc) TBC gems, however the difference between green northrend gems, perfect northrend gems and blue northrend gems are minimal.
Apart from being a hunter who doesn't want to spend several hundred gold gemming a subpar piece (not that I really have those anymore) I also wouldn't suggest an applying hunter to go all out if the gear is set to be replaced within a few runs - we are very low on the hunters, shaman and warriors and due to the rate of new characters in this grouping we can almost guarantee that these characters will get new gear if they don't have better from somewhere else already.

I'll admit I still use green gems too, mostly because of the expenditure of the blue ones, and the difficulty of finding a jewelcrafter that can cut them (I am lucky I have a JC character too, but the token system makes it a looong trip to pick up all the gems that are needed).

I don't understand how it gets those numbers for DPS. I input my gear, rotation etc, and it says 4900 DPS (on top of the gear page). I never had nearly that much in a long fight with full raid buffs and I don't think there are many mistakes to make in BM rotation (keep serpent up and spam steadyshot). Is there anything I'm missing? Should I upload my spreadsheet?

Also, Hearty Rhino gives 280 armor penetration in the spreadsheet.

Shandara, is there any way to implement the benefits for Mixology? I know it may be more difficult, but it would be nice to have a little yes/no menu that would then show the benefits for elixirs/flasks as a result of having Alchemy as a profession.

As I was testing the effects of changing Serpent Sting priority for my future Survival shot rotation, I noticed that I'm getting the same exact total DPS having Serpent Sting prioritized before Explosive Shot and Aimed Shot as opposed to directly before Steady Shot. I don't want to debate which priority is best, but just want to point out that the damage bonus from Noxious Stings doesn't seem to be tied to Serpent Sting uptime.

The "priority" queue simply adds the DPS of each shot together, it's not actually using a priority system for determining the DPS listed there. When you test out your rotation, it uses the priority queue to see what it would look like, but positioning the shots doesn't have any effect on DPS.

Yes, I realize it doesn't have any effect and attempted to point that out. My question is shouldn't it affect dps? Is it too time-consuming to model this? Its not a problem if it is; I just wanted to know if this is a limitation of the sheet.
