The first was perhaps not a clear winner, but a winner. The big loser was obviously 7/13/51, especially if you go Noxious Stings over Sniper Training. With ST it comes within 40 DPS of the first spec. But the fragility of the spec makes it unworthy to me. Good riddance I say.

The thing to keep in mind here is the value of these specs are very dependant on mana conditions. As you need less mana, more points in BM, and less points in Surv becomes better than other specs. The default fight time on the spreadsheet is 6 minutes, which no one has done since Brutalus attempts. Comparing the best gearset pre-loaded on spreadsheet, with the default 6 minute time, I get something like this:
1/15/55 7072.44 (es,kill,steady glyphs)
0/15/56 7074.41 (es,kill,steady glyphs)
7/13/51 6987.73 (es,kill,srs glyphs)
Drop the fight time down to 4 minutes, and it turns into something like this:
1/15/55 7219.50 (es,kill,hawk)
0/15/56 7220.95 (es,kill,steady)
7/13/51 7263.83 (es,kill,hawk)
A 3 minute fight shows me:
1/15/55 7370.43 (es,kill,hawk)
0/15/56 7367.53 (es,kill,steady)
7/13/51 7463.47 (es,kill,hawk)
To get the best numbers you can out of a 7/13/51 variant at 6 minutes, you are dropping points from DPS talents to spend in mana talents and using a more mana efficient glyph (serpent sting), which defeats the benefits of the spec. I think
7/13/51 is the only logical version of 7/X/X to consider; if it leaves you mana starved, then the other specs are better. All that being said, I rarely find myself running oom, and thus using speed pots, which aren't very good for hunters. If I have the choice between using a speed pot+spec for mana vs. mana pot+spec for damage, I think the latter is going to work out better, provided I'm not still going oom on top of that.
