How good is Armor Pen. now after patch, I was thinking of using [Grim Toll] which is dusting away in my bank. Current spreadsheet says its a dps upgrade but since its not up to date, not to sure and spreadsheet is meh when it comes to armor pen.

I was wondering if anybody had done any theorycrafting on which weapon was better from 25 man Ulduar

The spreadsheet, which is the very subject of this entire thread, will tell you exactly that.

I dont use spreadsheets which is why i asked in this thread. i was hoping for some insight, and all you had to do was say gun or bow.

Were you Marksman and had Rapid Recuperation? There seems to be a bug that gives the Pet unlimited focus when you spec RR, so the points in GftT do nothing (2/2 RR / 0/2 GftT gives higher pet dps than 2/2 GftT / 0/2 RR, but only 1-2 dps). If you get rid of RR, GftT is back to normal.

Ok, small update:
This is the last 'PTR' version before I release v87. I've tested the Armory import (gear and talents) on about 10 US posters from these boards and it seemed to work alright. Sometimes you will get a message box 'Slot: xxx Item #xxxxx - Enchant is empty" or similar. This means the Armory didn't work correctly and failed to fill out the XML properly. Try again.

It doesn't work for EU yet since that Armory seems to be not providing any useful XML at all (sometimes empty, sometimes half-filled) and times out a lot. I expect once they finish adjusting it it'll start working properly.

I've removed the 25% ArP bonus for now, since it is still bugged on 3.1 Live and seems to be producing numbers roughly the same as 3.09. Once I read up on the thread and/or it is fixed I'll incorporate it into the sheet.

The talent import for glyphs seems to work. Try it out and post feedback (or PM it) so I can get any bugs ironed out before V87).

You might see some familiar names in the Overview tab. These are some of the hunters I've used to test the Armory import. I've tried both hunters with and without Dual Spec. In the future I might add a confirmation bug where you can select which of the 2 specs you want to choose, but for now it only gets the currently activated one (since the Armory might not update quickly enough this might be the wrong one..)

It has a 45sec CD.
Not on GCD, but its own Burst GCD (some trinkets may have been put on this?)

There appears to be an issue with the Load Gear from Armory
When I try it with my character:

It complains that the neck piece, Favor of the Dragon Queen, is an invalid Shoulder slot item.
The proper shoulder slot item is the Iron-studded Mantle.
Possibly the armory is messed up, but should it not just skip that slot if there is no data, rather than throw an error message about the slot above it?

First; did you switch any gear or change your spec?
Second; some mechanics changed in 3.1 - specifically mana regen, and thus intellect with a bigger mana pool became worth more (more dps before viper, more mana regen from teh % of mana regen talents). Frosted have no int (because they are leather) and as such they don't get the benfit that the t7.5 gloves are getting - its not that you actually do more, but there is less benefit from switching

There seems to be a bug with hit being calculated, all the time. Noticed it on my own char, then reopened the default. When I open the sheet (default), Rezdan has 100.23% hit chance and is 7 over the cap with only 237 hit rating, which is obviously incorrect.

EDIT: Found the problem, Draeni racial is turned in the buff profile that the sheet comes with..... so Horde players, make sure to turn it off.

EDIT 2: I also get an error importing my char from the armory, "Slime Stream Bands is not a support Hands please use Custom Gear
for it". I am using them as bracers. Looks like this is because the gloves from Auriaya don't show up in armory yet.

Yes, i was using a 7-57-7 build. As soon as you have one point in RR, any points you put in GftT don't change anything.

The Armory is iffy at the moment and any items that weren't discovered on the PTR are probably causing problems. When I have some more time after the weekend I'll see about checking wowhead again for changes to any items and new additions (in the meantime PM me or post here about missing items).

This is an interesting post GC made about Armp (the actual calculations). I am trying to check if it matches the spreadsheet values. I am sure other people are back checking it as well.

I'm just posting this in case some people missed it.

Don't they just reduce the reduceable armor? Meaning after the ArP calculation for what we can reduce with ArP then we take off the 24% from abilities and only then do we reduce the remaining armor by the ArP percentage.

I wonder where the Warriors' Battle Stance sets in... Luckily I'm not a Warrior, but it looks like ArP remains pretty poor.

I belive the [Shoulders of Misfortune] are still missing from the latest version of the spreadsheet. These dropped from trash for us last night, that's why I'm reporting.

About the only thing I'm sure is not up to date is Black Arrow, I think. Once I have some more time I'll test it in-game again (to verify Ravenfire's formula) and add it in.

Can't change my name on the spreadsheet or the server. What option am I missing?

If you are running Excel 07 you have to enable spreed sheet options.

Normally when you open the file there will be this Security warning (underneath the Toolbars and above the formula cell) click on the "options" button and select "enable this content"

did that. still won't let me change name or server, all the other options are good to go.
