If you'd check out the whole Hunter Forum you would see Raiding as Beast Mastery in 3.1 (notice 3.1 > 3.0 ). From reading just the first post she would see her spec and Glyphs are improvable.

Her gemming is really weak aswell (for quick reference: WotLK Gem Index) never ever gem stamina or int. Let alone sta/ap to get some weak socket bonus like Stamina.

But for your core problem (about weak DPS) you provided way too few Facts (Was that only her damage? With pet? Which Pet? Which Pet Spec? WWS?) to really help you.

i did read through that post last night before speaking to her about it.. i haven't yet had chance to make her the new glyphs. I'll speak to her on the gem subject later on as well then.

She had a pet out (one of the bores from razorfen) although i've no way to find out the spec of it until later. She uses core hound in raids and the dps is pretty much around the same. when i see her tonight i'll make a WWS of her and come back.

Just point her in to this site where is all the information she needs, if she cant but a little bit effort to even come here instead of making you come here and ask, i don't think she even deserves a spot in a raids if she cant even do that.

Well without even looking at the details of her spec I can tell you it's wrong. With that build her pet will being experiencing continual focus starvation and as a pet is 40% of a BM hunter's damage output that's a 20-30% drop in DPS right there.

53/11/7 is going to produce far more DPS

She also desperately needs to get hit capped. Hit transfers to pets in whole integers only (e.g. 6%, 7%, 8%) and so she's currently loosing even more DPS because her pet is focused staved AND missing a lot.

She should probably also run H-UK & H-UK till [Drake-Mounted Crossbow] & [Sovereign's Belt] drop if she doesn't have easy access to Naxx/Uldar gear as easily accessed upgrades.

Finally, she should get Shandara's spreadsheet and use it to assess her current gear, talents, pet and shot rotation to tweak things appropriately. It's also a great way of figuring out what gear is going to have the most affect on her DPS.

Iru thanks.. i've given her that talent spec (changed 3 points from lethal shots to focussed aim to keep her hit capped improved gear) and made her use the cross bow which she's had for a while. I've also made her use her corehound with a better dps talent build..

Re-gemmed her and now she puts out 1500-1700 on the heroic training dummy with only her own buffs so i'm happy.

Mokal: Not everyone understands this stuff.. i came here because i do and can explain it to her a bit easier..

I'm using a wolf for the atk pwr bonus Furious Howl gives me. And, IMO Devilsaurs are just too damn big and can get in the way of those who like to actually see what's going on.
