This was discussed on the latest Hunting party podcast, testing by Frostheim and others suggest the Crit scope is still the best but is closely followed by the haste scope.

I am a little confused as to how our pets receive our stats, particularly our rating stats (crit, hit etc). Do they scale off the percentages or the rating that the hunter has?

Several posts seem to indicate the former, but a couple of Draenei seem to be saying that the pets are missing when their char sheet shows them on 8%.

I am trying to get some Trap Launcher macros to work. I have been using the following:

#showtooltip Freezing Trap
/cast Trap Launcher
/cast Freezing Trap

#showtooltip Ice Trap
/cast Trap Launcher
/cast Ice Trap

#showtooltip Immolation Trap
/cast Trap Launcher
/cast Immolation Trap

#showtooltip Explosive Trap
/cast Trap Launcher
/cast Explosive Trap

#showtooltip Snake Trap
/cast Trap Launcher
/cast Snake Trap

However, all except the Snake trap work. Any ideas? I've tried copying the spell right from the spellbook, that results in Snake Trap(Nature). That still doesn't work.

Mastery questions.

I've been trying to test to See if there is a hard cap for Focus regen at a certain amount of Haste, but so far have not found a point where Focus regen "Flat-lines". Has anyone else found this? Or is there a number I'm just not reaching?

Hmm... does Serpent Sting damage scales automatically now with damage multiplier or do we still want to reapply it if our damage modifier changes?

Try this one mate:

Note: still need to click 2 times, like click+click = Explo trap, (shift)click+(shift)click = Ice Trap, with ctrl you'll get Snakes
You'll get used to it fast.

My pets are definitely not inheriting my racial's hit%. Observed in both raids and on target dummy, my pets hover around 1% miss and 1% dodge with me (slightly) over the hit cap.

I have a question regarding the Beast Mastery talent Kindred Spirits. What is the point of this talent ? Sure I'll have 10 more focus at the start of the battle but is that all there is to it ?

That and a bit of leeway in the focus management - you can regen to 110 before wasting focus, which can be good or not depending on how tightly you are able to manage your focus. Lastly its one of those marginal benefit talents which you can opt out of, but without anything clearly better to spend those 2 points in to get to 31. Depending on your specific taste the other places those 2 points can go (in a pve build - in pvp it is my intuition that those 10 extra focus are more valuable than pve), mostly, CTHC, IMP or Pathfinding. CTHC gives nothing to PvE as aoe doesn't trigger the deterrence reduction (last I checked). IMP shouldn't be needed (your healers should be cleansing the pets as well) soloing IMP might be more valuable than KiSp, but solo play you would probably benefit more from taking those points out of KiSt since it only lasts 7 seconds. Pathfinding is currently the definition of "meh". 8% increased movement on AotP/C, and 10% increased mounted speed. The last you get from guild level 2 (and they don't stack) leaving it at increased movement speed in AotP/C. Summing up, there aren't any better places to spend the points for a raiding build, and for a soloing build the obvious alternative place is better spent from another talent.

4.0.1 BM shot priority

I've looked through a bit of this thread and was wondering on an updated BM shot priority? My BM DPS has always been low, seeing as I defaul to Surv then MM, I'm willing to give it another shot, but horribly bad on DPS with my lack of a good rotation.

I imagine the base spec/glyphs would look like this: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

There's something I'm just missing. Maybe need more cowb... arcane shot.

I'll do some math later when I get home because I can do anything on femaledwarf in my PvP gear.

Has anyone done testing to verify whether the spell based damage procs are actually being affected by SV's mastery? I don't believe I currently have this supported on the site, but I can add support for it if we can verify it actually works this way.

Also would be good to verify if the pyro enchant is being based off spell hit/crit/crit dmg multiplier. That's currently how I have it setup, but I haven't tested it myself.

I'm not an expert, but here is what I basically use as priorities: Rapid Fire, BW, Kill Shot, Serpent, KC, Arcane, Steady
The talents and glyphs look good, I have the last 5 points in GftT, ISS, and one in Pathing. Use KC whenever you can, it's your biggest damage. During BW KC and get off a bunch of arcanes, another KC, hit fervor for 50 focus if it's up, couple or three more arcane, then steady. The rest of the time watch your focus, if it's 65+ arcane, less than 65 steady. With 65 you always have enough left to refresh serpent and hit KC. With my gear Zeherah's says I should be able to do 7.2k on the dummy (that's with kill shot turned off) and I'm hitting about 6.9, so I think I'm pretty close to having it right. I switched out my 264 Zod's for the 264 PvP bow, the 3.00 speed added close to 200 dps. I also grabbed an addon (hunter focus helper?) that gives you a big moveable focus bar that I've found helpful.

Thank you for the input. Part of my problem was that I wasn't using KC as much as I should have, I've adjusted to your priority list you've stated and my DPS went from (as of last night) 3200, to right about 4K-4.1K so yes that priority list is a bit better. It doesn't help that my MM and Surv DPS is still higher, still by about 600-1K respectively. I suppose I'm just a surv hunter at heart

Currently using the 232 bow out of HPoS with the +40 crit, my avg ilvl is 225.8, so my gear isn't all that terribly awesome, but I'll keep working at it to see what I can come up with as far as numbers go. and I should perhaps exchange my wolf for a core hound, unless anyone can offer a better single target dps pet.
