I'm currently using a cunning pet and it seems to do better than my raptor. But that's just my opinion. Are raptrs suppose to be better?

The autoshot there just sets it to fire initially. KS isn't causing any problems, it's whenever KC activates- I think it might have something to do with the visual action that you do every time you activate it overriding other abilities. Ofc once 3.1 hits live, Kill Shot will be activating the GCD, but that's not current.

Does this count if you're an alchemist? Certainly you get a big buff from the flask through Mixology, and it lasting 4 hours is a huge deal... But would Mighty Thoughts/Agility combo not give a buff that's almost equivilent? Or does Mixology's buff to them both compared to Endless Rage pretty much guarentee that ER is better?

AP, ranged weapons
so i have a question unrelated to the previous topics. I have been playing a hunter as my first character and have been playing since pach 1.7. ive tried other specs here and there, but for the most part and almost all of my time raiding the burning crusade has been as MM. in wotlk, i went and did 50/21 with everyone else and then survival in 3.0.8 or w/e. http://armorylite.com/us/sargeras/shalros. ive been survi for a while now and i kinda like it but i think i still liked mm better. idk. anyways i have a pretty bad weapon in comparison with the quality of my gear.
i know that having such a sub par bow is a large gimp on my dps. i am probably or am close to being the most geared player in my guild, but some people in less gear than i have can out dps me. (or become really close to doing so) I dont think this is any fault of my rotation. or my ability, rather, as i was third or higher in basically every raid i ever went to as mm, during BC.
rambling aside, i need to know how much dps is being gimped, basically how big a difference is made from having a supra par weapon vs a sub par weapon.

The spreadsheet will answer your question fully. At the moment though, Raptors are rated highest but are closely followed by Cats. Of course, this may change if you do not have the +Bleed Dmg debuff in your raids.

Reason: Answered, but not deleted b/c of the additional info about bleed debuff.

To expand on that, due to the nature of their special attacks, both cats and raptors work at optimal efficiency if you have a feral druid with the Mangle debuff. In an ideal world with all buffs/debuffs available, these two are the prime contenders for best dps pet. When Mangle is not present, both these two are still very solid choices as dps pets, but wolves suddenly become a lot more tempting, since there is now almost no difference between the three. The answer, however, varies on a case-by-case basis, and plugging your data into the spreadsheet is likely to give you a good idea of what's best for you.

The only meaningful answer to that involves using shandara's spreadsheet which you can find here, which is something you can do for yourself.

So as a long time (unregistered) reader, first time poster, I have a few questions.
Hopefully You won't blame me for not reading walls of text in all the big threads, my search didn't bring up direct answers to my questions so I'm looking forward to a quick reply here.
(Did I miss something? The search brought up whole threads, not single posts, so I would have to scroll through all the pages?)
I'm a SV Hunter currently specced 1/18/52, hit capped with a few BiS items.
Most likely I'm gonna respecc to the "standard" 6/14/51 soon.
Now my questions:
#1 Even if I don't ever use it in 25 mans, in 10s I do: While in AotV, do You use the same shot rotation You normally use? Or do You switch to some a-few-weeks-ago-BM-style-Serpent-Steady-spam to use less mana while AotV is up in order to shorten the time until You switch back to AotDH?
#2 Currently with 1/18/52 I'm using AotH, Serpent and Steady glyph. With 6/14/52 there's no more need for the AotH glyph, right? Which one do I use instead? I think there are only 3 that come to mind (?): Rapid Fire, Hunter's Mark or Multi-Shot. Atm Multi is not in my Rotation but after respeccing to 6/14/51 I won't have Aimed anymore so maybe I'll weave in Multi.
#3 During L'n'L procs I usually let go 3 ES with a short delay of around 0.5 seconds because i read this is the way to go to not delay the next ES and so on. Is this true even if my Serpent is not up anymore? Yesterday in Naxx I had quite a lot L'n'L procs just at the time Serpent ran out. Should I refresh it before the 3 ES (or after the first, depending on the exact time Serpent ends) or should I refresh it just after the third ES? I'm not sure whether the 1.5 second delay of all the ESs is worth it, because all 3 ES during L'n'L are affected by Noxious Stings when I bring up Serpent before them, but every ES from now on will be delayed...

1) I usually switch to only using ES and SS, unless multiple targets are available, at which point I include Multi as well. Aimed isn't really worth the slight extra damage since you're getting almost a null return on mana spent, aka you're having to stay in Viper longer. Typically 2 ES with a few SS is enough to get enough mana back for the rest of a boss fight (since each ES tick returns mana through Viper separately for the full value).
2) The AotH glyph will always be a DPS increase; it will add 6% to the haste gained from the proc no matter what. That being said, use Shandara's Spreadsheet to determine if there is a glyph that will give you a better dps increase for your glyph shot. Standard is usually Serpent Sting, Steady Shot, and then either the Aimed Shot or AotH glyphs. Rarely to I know of anyone using Rapid Fire (since it used THAT often; use AotH if you need a haste buff) or the Hunter's Mark (90 AP increase; work checking, but not usually the best).
3) I usually do the same, delaying that extra .5s between LnL ES, but when my HM or SrS is going to fall off (which isn't uncommon if you've refreshed it with a proc of some kind) then I interleave them between my LnL shots since it is only a minor dps decrease. Keep in mind however, that this is only generally recommended if you have Noxious Stings 3/3, and even then it's iffy whether or not to interleave refresh unless you also have 3/3 Improved Stings as well since otherwise the damage from keeping your ES's sooner outweighs the loss of an SrS sting damage lost. Even with both talents, ES squeaks ahead, but it's so minor that I like to keep SrS up as close to 100% as possible.
Also, in regards to search: there's a box to click that lets you switch between bringing up entire threads, or individual posts. These have all been discussed, though across different threads; this is a condensing of our findings such far.

Wyrven Sting and 2 handed Weapon Enchant questions (for SV)
How to properly use Wyrven Sting in raids? I'd guess it won't work on bosses, so shall it just occasionally (when it is off the CD) be used on a trash?
thank you!

Honestly, why would you want to? Random raid trash are sometimes immune to it, so often, if for some reason something is running amok amongst people it shouldn't be, I'll drop a frost trap and distracting shot it until someone comes and grabs the damn thing. So many people just flat-out AOE trash in raids that the sleep component is usually totally wasted. I don't even have the shot on my bar.

As survival? 5 points in Hawk should be better, unless there's some odd combination of factors that makes Improved stings better. Plug your gear into the spreadsheet and see the difference for yourself

Was wondering, how much dps is considered 'decent' as SV, lets say on patch HC? Or, since i'd need to name specific gear/spec/pet/consumables, how much dps do you guys usually get?

Trinkets
What do you guys think is better, the extra agility gems and enchants you get by using [Grim Toll] or the AP from [Mirror of Truth]? im thinking the crit and AP from the gems and enchants would out weigh the AP what you guys think?

With an ICD of 45 seconds? the Mirror works out to an average of over 200AP, plus the crit. So you would need to free up enough hit gems to equal that. I don't think it's possible, which is why Mirror is still rated #3 or 4 in the trinket slot for most builds.

I was reading the builds and I came across this:
Shot Queue: SpS/CS/KS/AS/AimS/SS
Since I'm not a hunter and I'm looking for this for my friend, could anyone tell me what these stand for. Like what shots.
Thanks

While I'd encourage your friend to do his own research, I'm going to go ahead and explain the rotation. Basically, from left to right, this is a priority queue for a Marksmanship spec. When one or more shots are available, the one closest to the left of the queue takes prior
SpS is Serpent Sting, that you only need to use once per fight, unless the debuff falls off
CS is Chimera Shot, meaning that firing this is first priority if you have the Sting Debuff up (especially because but not limited to the fact that it renews the duration of SpS)
KS is Kill Shot - that only becomes active when your target is below 20%, but when it does come up, fire it every time it's off cooldown, unless CS is available
AS is Arcane Shot
AimS is Aimed Shot
SS is Steady Shot

so with SpS/KS/ES/MS/SS
it would be:
Serpent Sting
Kill Shot
Explosive Shot
Multi Shot
Steady Shot.
Right?

Rapid Fire
First time poster , sorry but i couldnt really find anything about my question .
As a fairly new hunter I'd like to ask what should one use during rapid fire+bloodlust ?
I noticed from my raids that the global cooldown is overwhelming for me specially as MM and SURV .
Basicly im spaming steady shots and chimera/explosives completly ignoring arcane/aimed during rapid fire+ bloodlust.
I do not use spreadsheets or simulators since i dont really believe in their reliability specially when theres always some things happening during a fight like moving changing targets delaying rotations and so on .
Is it worth using normal rotation while affected by rapid fire alone and rapid fire+ bloodlust?
Sorry for spelling/grammar, not native speaker.
