I've been looking around and have been unable to find this anywhere... Does anybody know where I can find a list of scaling coefficients for our pets' special abilities? (For example, Steady Shot gains 10% of our AP as damage, now I want this for our pets' abilities)
Hopefully this counts as a simple question... is there any way to abandon a pet from the stable? Or if I've got an exotic pet stabled, am I stuck with it in there until I respec BM to take it out to abandon it?
Simple question: I am regemming after powering up JC the other day.
Trying to figure out if A Glinting Monarch Topaz plus Enchanted Tear is better than a Delicate Scarlet Ruby plus Vivid Forest Emerald.
The stat breakdown would be 14AGI, 6INT, 6STAM, 8hit, with a +4 haste socket bonus vs. 16AGI, 12STAM, 8hit, but losing the meager 4 haste socket bonus. I'm 7 hit under cap when I do this so the 8hit gem is my best option when factoring in all the other gems and enchants. I know it's a waste of 1 hit, but no other combo compares.
Basically it comes down to 2agi and 6stam vs 6int and 4haste.

The math is pretty simple, but the spreadsheet is always your best answer as always.
2 AGI + 6 STA = 4 AP
6 INT = 6 AP
The agility gives a negligible amount of crit, the INT combo gives a little more MP, a little more AP, and the haste isn't a bad side effect either. But again, use the spreadsheet to truly determine which is higher dps for you.
Yeah, I have been configuring it every way possible for the last hour or so. It seems to place a high value on the actual mana, which is a non-concern for me in 25man raids. I don't run out on bosses. On an unbuffed 6 minute fight the Tear+Glint was nearly 4 dps better, but on a Mana-return buff only fight of 1 minute it was only .5 better.
I guess 2 ap and 4 haste is better than the negligible crit and 60 hps the other option provides. Of course with expose weakness and other effects it's slightly less than 2ap and a miniscule bit more crit. But after thinking about it and your reaffirming it, I think the Tear solution is the better option at best and nothing less than equal at worst.

Keep in mind as well: having a Tear in your gear means that you won't have to shift any gems for our prime Meta-gem if you get a helm for it. I prefer the Tear over most substitues (unless it's gear I'm replacing, or betting on replacing, soon. Tear's are pricey!).

A GM might be able to abandon/delete the pet for you. When 3.0 first came out, I had a problem with one of my old pets (a low level bear) being labeled as exotic for some reason, and as such I couldn't get it out of the stable. GM resolved the issue pretty quickly by deleting it.
Just the auto attacks, but you needn't concern yourself about that. The frequency of the attacks makes up for the damage reduction, especially, but not only for BM.

Generally, there is no value in changing your rotation in viper. I personally use RF early and often, or in conjunction with with trinkets or heroism, depending on the fight.
Should you stick to your regular rotation while in Viper?
Is it better to save rapid fire for Viper or use it Early and Often?
To add to the above answer, you will want to make only two slight changes to your rotation. You will not want to refresh your sting, and you will want to use multishot instead of aimed shot if there is more than one target you're allowed to hit.
Don't you always want to use multishot over aimed shot if there is more than one target to hit, provided you are not on the move and do not need the healing debuff?
Ok simple question ..I have respeced and mimicked several from here and my gear is gaining with each raid yet I cant seem to reproduce the same dps lvls as many here ...Is my latency an issue ? I run on a good day around 800 ...Any help in this area would greatly be appreciated ...I am a 0/20/51 surv Hunter ....

I can't tell much from the information you have given, but a quick look at your armory shows that you are *way* over hit-capped at 9.24% AND you have 3/3 Focused Aim. Move those points into maxing Lethal Shots as soon as possible, and replace some of your hit gear with things that will increase your crit. I am sure some of our survival hunters can give you advice on the finer points of your spec.

Here's a couple areas I would suggest improving.
Spec: 6/14/51 is technically the highest dps spec. 2/18/51 is close enough to also be a viable alternative. In either build, it's acceptable to move a point (or points) from sniper training for more hunting party if your crit rating is too low to maintain a decent uptime on replenishment.
Gems: Socket 16 agility in everything. Use one green gem to meet the meta requirement for RED. If you have to match sockets, use 16 agi in red, and 8 agi 8hit/crit in yellow and the green quality (perfect) stamina/agility gems in blue.
Gear: You only need 263 hit rating. By dropping some hit gems and focused aim, you should still have enough hit to not miss vs boss level enemies. I would strongly suggest you pick up the T7.10 chest from badges to make your 2set as well. Also toss a belt buckle in your belt for another free socket.
Enchants: 6 stats to wrist is inferior to 38/50 ap. 20 agi to gloves is better than 20 hit when you have excess hit, and icewalker provides more "bang for your buck" than 16 agi (but only change this if you end up going below the hit cap)
Glyphs: Make sure to glyph IAotH, Serpent Sting and Steady Shot. There's really no other options at present. For minors FD, Revive and Mend are all nice but not mandatory.
It's called Bloodlust, not Heroism. What kind of pansy name is Heroism, anyway?

The biggest problem I see (other than what the above posters have mentioned) is your overall Haste rating.
Right now I bet your shot rotation feels like a square wheel. The way to smooth it out is with Haste. Personally I tried to do it with Haste gear, but in the end I was sacrificing too many other attributes. Plus with 3.1 on the way, it's going to be better to go with IAotH anyway.

In these days many Level 80 Raid specs for a Survival Hunter seem to include improved Aspect of the Hawk. Sometimes just because of the usefullness of iAotH (5/15/41 Spec) or to reach Tier 2 where you can get Focused Fire (6/14/41 or 7/13/41). Focused Fire is a quite worthy investment for your talentpoints but when you're like me not willing to sacrifice Aimed Shot for Focused Fire, you're stuck with a maximum amount of 5 points into the Beastmaster Tree, unless you do really crazy shit.
So what i wanted to know was: How much points should i spend for iAotH, which directly depends on how much haste you have on your Equipment. Reaching the GCD for Steadyshot means getting 25 % haste. So it's:
Haste by Gear * Haste by Talents * Haste by quiver/pouch = 1,25
This way you can calculate how much points you need to put into iAotH to get Steadyshot casting time down to (or below) the GCD when it proccs.

If you're next to the upper barrier of a haste-interval you might want to put one point less into iAotH and miss the GCD just by some ms.
Given your current Haste rating, I'd do the 6/14/51 posted above. Since you won't be needing the IAotH glyph, and you won't have Aimed Shot, [Item not found!] might work as your 3rd Major Glyph.
And again... things will be changing again once 3.1 gets released in it's final form, so stay tuned.

You can also petition a GM and they'll get rid of it for you.
Don't you always want to use multishot over aimed shot if there is more than one target to hit, provided you are not on the move and do not need the healing debuff?
Not if you have any of the talents that improve aimedshot's damage but don't affect multishot (Sniper Training leaps to mind).
Ok, my main since i started playing wow about a year ago was a mage, and to be perfectly honest its getting a bit tedious, standing still and casting a 2/3 button rotation every fight is not my idea of a fun class anymore, so i rolled a hunter a few weeks ago, its level 38 at the moment, iv got a couple of heirloom items which are speeding up the levelling slightly. My plans for level 80 are a MM spec, looking at it i think it would be lots of fun to play, my question: im considering making a spec that is viable for both pve and pvp, im not concerned about owning the damage meters, as long as the tanks dont beat me. Does anyone have any experience where this idea is actually viable?
This is pulled directly from the thread "Best Possible DPS in Shandaras WOTLK Spreadsheet" and the work was done by other hunters.
Since this information will change with 3.1 I would suggest checking that thread as you level your toon. The spreadsheet makes it easy to know you are headed in the right direction with your gear & spec choices.
And from available information Marks will be very viable next patch.
