I would like to point out that all "Vindication" (the battle group, of course) servers are located at a data center in Dallas, TX. So while it's an "EST server", the server itself is not located where you'd think it might be. Regardless of what the server's stated timezone is, you'd be better off trying to find a BattleGroup whose datacenter is located in the Western part of the US (such as Bloodlust, Cyclone, and others.)

The server you're playing on has nothing to do with FPS.

To get better ping, you need a better internet connection and a close data center. Having a good hardware doesn't hurt either. To get better fps, you basically need better hardware, mostly graphics card and RAM. Before I upgraded my desktop, I was having a trouble raiding because of low fps. Lowering settings will help, including turning sound off.

I motion that a new thread be created for the 3.1 patch. Changes in 3.1 are dramatic enough that the existing content will be nearly useless moving forward.

I would really like to see what other people are getting with regard to the new top dps set-ups for survival.

I've been playing around with it and, for whatever reason, I'm not even getting close to 6k in SV, whereas in a BM spec I hit 6.2k.

I've debated a variety of specs with the other hunters in my guild, I'm just curious as to what you guys have come up with.

Right now I favor a 0/14/57 setup.

im finding a MM > BM > SV atm - but the ulduar fights arnt that friendly to sniper training

I am finding something a bit different Surv > BM > MM. Sniper training for most of the fights I have been in you can make it work.I have even managed to keep it up almost the full duration of the Hodir fight.

Edit: I hear BM will also get better with the new Armor Pen on the new gear.

I agree that the changes with 3.1 have invalidated the previous templates, I don´t think we need a new thread to get new templates though - the frame conditions kind of remain the same.
My reasoning behind not updating the thread so far has been that there´s still a large amount of items that are unknown and until 2 days ago changes to both hunters and the spreadsheet came very frequently. I assume there´ll be a version 87 of the spreadsheet including more items and stable mechanics.

Fair enough. I'd love to see a new spreadsheet. A lot of the new gear so far from Ulduar has been a very minimal upgrade, however increase ilvl and Stamina on a lot of the gear will help in many of the Ulduar fights. Its not just DPS scaling that is important with ulduar now.

Well I guess I still don´t really see the necessity for a new thread but I wouldn´t mind one either. So I´ll leave it up to the forum mods and audience to lock the topic and/or create a new one if they see fit.

With patch 3.1 live now, I am having problems getting my talents from the the armory. I am new to the spreadsheet, and I think that the reason I cannot get my talents from the armory is due to the new content in the trees.

Could some one please confirm if that is the issue (if this is the issue I assume I need to wait for the next live version of the spreadsheet) or if there is something that I am totally missing?

Any assistance or thoughts would be appreciated.

I swapped out the shoulders and gloves you used for the Valorous counterparts and i gained 91 DPS. It looks like that the possible setup will have to make use off the tier 7 2/5 bonus.

By that do you mean you swapped them out with t8 shoulders and gloves?
I imagine 4 piece t8 would be a good upgrade over what he had listed but unfortunately i don't have Microsoft office.

Okay, so first the guy above me, you have like weapon enchants on the gloves and glove enchants on the boots. I'm sure you just copy and pasted it wrong accidentally.

Also, why are both talent sets above me have 72 talents points used?

Back in version 86e, Giants Bane was better than Siren's cry, but now vice-versa. So unless I'm missing something here...

One more nub question, how do you make it so that the items when you mouse over them, the stats appear.

Re [Giant's Bane] and [Siren's Cry] the difference of which is best changes depending on other stats.

They are subtly different in stats;

GB: 38 agi, 33 sta, 27 haste, 54 ap, 21 arp
SC: 38 agi, 36 sta, 22 haste, 54 ap, 25 crit

So in the end it comes down to which combination is better for you;
GB: -3 sta, +5 haste, +21 arp
SC: +3 sta, -5 haste, +25 crit

Sta only influences SV hunters. Haste will rarely be the determining factor at this level, so 21 arp or 25 crit is basically what opposes eachother.
