Before we start to see more posts containing missing information lets ensure that we all post a complete layout so that others dont have to guess what your rotation was, what kind of pet, and the consumables you were using. Also make sure to link your spec and pet spec to a talent calculator and use the handy wowhead item code tag button on the forum post toolbar to allow viewing of your items. I think the following sums it up nicely. If anyone sees something missing post away.

This is using the previous best surv dps info but when posting new combinations lets stick to this format:

I might be a noob but:
Shot Priority: Rapid Fire > Serpent Sting > Kill Shot > Explosive Shot > Multi-Shot > Steady Shot

You can't use KS unless the target has lower than 20% hp left :P

Or have you done this on a Target dummy? if so, I understand the Shot prio :P

Shot priority is just that a priority not a shot rotation. So for a hunter Kill shot will always be at the top of shot priorities, meaning it will be used every time it is POSSIBLE. So even though a mob is above 20% hp, kill shot still remains a high priority shot because it will become your main ability once the mob reaches 20%. The shot rotations represents a segment of a shot priority, for example while you are firing at a mob and everything is on CD except Explosive shot, then the Rotations for those 6 sec will be Explosive shot>SS>SS>SS, and once any other ability that is on the priority list becomes available it will be used asap.

Shot Priority simplified...

On the shot rotation tab of the spreadsheet there is a shot priority box.

If the shot priority is something like: Shot Priority: Rapid Fire > Serpent Sting > Kill Shot > Explosive Shot > Multi-Shot > Steady Shot

For your question this basically means that if Kill Shot is available at the same time as Explosive Shot use Kill Shot. It is a list of what cooldowns or shots take "priority" over some of the others. Again it can change depending on the situation but its a general idea. (ie some say its usually not a good idea to use serpent sting for a GCD over some other shots if the target is going to die soon)

I've noticed that a lot of the gear I've chosen lacks haste, but has an abundant amount of hit that I could get rid of. Don't even think I'm able to get Steady Shot to the 1.5 cast time

- Saronite Mesh are way above Conq legs
- Metallic Loop is actually better than Cindershard, but I couldnt find a way to cap hit without it that could still yield more dps

And yeah, there's endless ArP on Ulduar gear and so little haste, we'll never see hastecap anymore unless 239 stuff is itemized with it.

On the gear planner, Metallic Loop comes out on top, but if you actually change the gear, the dps decreases, so that's why I stayed with Cindershard, despite being over hit cap. As for T8, the legs don't have hit, so I'd prefer to use it, but Saronite Mesh is such a huge upgrade over the tier piece, while other tier pieces don't have good upgrade with or without hit.
One thing I'm thinking of is using the trinket off yogg-25 for hit cap, and dump all the other hit pieces. yogg trinket has 108 hit rating, so it's gonna be hard to get rid of that much hit from other pieces, but I can try. I'm assuming the internal cd is 45 sec and proc chance is 10%, which probably is a reasonable assumption.

How does the Darkmoon Card of Greatness with 90Str give a better dps over the 90Agi?

By default, it shows str version if you just link the card, but you have to manually link the agi version to show correctly. I'm sure it's meant to be the agi one.

On my set of gears, it was set at 0.1 ms. At 0.2 ms, 7620.59dps.

Well so far in ulduar mana hasn't really been a big issue for me so messing around removing a few points from Thrill Of The Hunt and obviously Hunting party in the spreadsheet and moving them to 3/3 Imp Stings results in a dps gain for me using identical gear from a few of the gear setups above, and my own last time I checked.
Maybe I've overlooked something, but I'll look into it more when I return from work.

Well, even there is no reason to write down best possible dps while there are many other loots, This is the highest dps I have found. Talent & Gear & Glyphs are kinda different. The rest is default 87a, I will write down the details after the thread is being updated again.

Hello everybody.

While i was looking to your gear selection i have my doubts about the neck.

Lets compare:
[Broach of the Wailing Night]
+63 Agility
+69 Stamina
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 36
Equip: Increases attack power by 84.
Equip: Increases your armor penetration rating by 46

and

Favor of the Dragon Queen
+42 Agility
+63 Stamina
GEM: 20 Agility (Delicate Stormjewel - Fishing/AH)
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 41
Equip: Increases attack power by 110.
Equip: Increases your armor penetration rating by 31

In my eyes it looks like Favor of the Dragon Queen is better with the right gem.
But maybe the Spreadsheet show other way... Armor Penetration rating ranking too much?

According to spreadsheet, and most probably to new designed ArP formulation, ArP brings more dps than Crit Rating. Such as,

Crit Rating +1 0,953 0,953 DPS
ArP Rating +1 1,106 1,106 DPS

These values can change from gear to gear, but in general ArP brings good DPS atm.

But, with the gear I have atm Favor of the Dragon Queen seems better with Fishing Gem but normal 16 agility gem. There is so little difference between these necks. I would not bid for Broach of the Wailing Night until there will be a better one.

Hey Baklava,

As i suspect, it was all about the ArP.
You don't have to bid on it since its a Emblem of Conquest item, 18 of them.
So in my opinion i will skip it for a while, until i have the T8 chest and Helm, since they at the moment are BiS.
Saving my Dkps for other items.

That staff can't be right. It has exactly the same stat as other 2h weapon except it has 224 agility instead of 224 AP and 0.1 lower dps, and 2.0 speed instead of 3.6 Doesn't that make the staff a higher level item since 1 agi = 2AP in terms of item stat budgeting?

As for [Broach of the Wailing Night] vs [Favor of the Dragon Queen], if you put a stormjewel, the Favor comes ahead, but that means I have to replace a [Delicate Stormjewel] I had in some other item. That means overall dps is the same as if I had [Delicate Scarlet Ruby] in the Favor. To be specific, I get 7620.59 with the Broach, and 7613.71 with the Favor. You can't compare two items by putting in a stormjewel as you gain 4agi regardless of where you put the gem in. When comparing, you should use scarlet ruby or dragon's eye. In this case, there are other blue sockets worth gemming with dragon's eyes due to better socket bonus.

I'm seeing alot of survival specs for best dps. I myself have gotten higher dps on the spreadsheet with exact same gear and my current gear with the old marksman spec pre 3.1. My question is, is everyone just still staying survival and posting those dps spreadsheets, or are these spreadsheets people are posting the highest possible even over marks.

Edit: Also my guild has been raiding ulduar, and maybe everyone hasnt stepped it up or found their perfect spec, but me as marks ive found im doing a good amount of dps, sometimes enough to be up at the top. I read alot of people saying hunters were nerfed too hard on forums during the ptr and where at the bottom in damage. Is this not true? I've liked the dps i've been doing.

Anyway - wouldn't changing the gem in the cloak to 8agi/8hit, and the enchant on the boots to icewalker result in more dps? When making the switch from Cindershard to Metallic Loop.

It looks like you accidently stated [Formula: Enchant 2H Weapon - Major Agility] instead of the Enchant Cloak as the Drape of Icy Intent enchant.
