I´d have posted earlier but I´m having trouble posting here with my home PC (posting from my Netbook with a diffrent ISP and it still took very long for the board to react)

Anyway short notice on my behalf with v87 released, most of the non-hard mode loot known and people starting to post their ideas I´ve been planning to update this thread in the next few days. I just hope my problems with the board won´t persist.

I wouldn't get too into making this sheet until more items have been implemented into the spreadsheet.

Alright I updated the OP and uploaded a new version of the spreadsheet. It only includes a base SV spec to be improved as there haven´t been any BM or MM template posts so far and I didn´t have the time to create one myself. I´m asking everyone to try and get higher numbers for the SV build and give me a starting point for the other two specs.

Concerning the latency - it used to be set to 0,1s as default. As the "shipping" default from Shandara changed to 0,2s I opted to leave it this way. Now it´s just important that we stick to it until there´s a complete "template wipe" again so the results stay comparable.

I'm pretty sure the Belt of the Betrayed is more DPS than the Belt of Dragons you linked..

Just a remind. The best SV output in the first page, links to a 0/14/57 where there's a Glyph of Trueshot Aura, that increases the critical strike with your Aimed shot, but the build is not talented for that. So the third glyph should be Serpent Sting.

Other than that, things will still change a bit, but for now it should point the correct ones.

The current version of the spreadsheet is showing Glyph of Serpent Sting as a minor upgrade to Glyph of Steady Shot, most likely due to allowing a few additional gcd's to be used on higher damage shots before serpent sting needs to be refreshed, as well as reducing mana spent on serpent sting over the course of an encounter.

You are absolutely correct. I made a wrong assumption and compared Belt of the Betrayed with Belt of Dragons with a Dragon's eye in it. I thought having a superior socket bonus would justify using Belt of Dragons. Also, if I spec out of Aimed Shot to max Hunting Party and use Multi-shot, I get better dps, although having Aimed Shot will have far more practicality due to movement in Ulduar fights. Nonetheless, it's the best dps on the spreadsheet. Also, I've noticed few things while fiddling around with the spreadsheet. Serpent Sting glyph is only better at high end gear. In my current gear, the spreadsheet tells me to use Steady Shot glyph. The same goes with Hunting Party talent. Improved Aspect of the Hawk come out slightly ahead at lower gear for the personal dps. I don't know where the threshold is, but it's something to keep in mind.

So here's my upgraded version. You can use [Delicate Stormjewel] anywhere as long as it replaces a [Delicate Scarlet Ruby]. It's a flat 4agi increase wherever you use it, so you shouldn't use it when comparing individual gear.

As a note I have not used this spreadsheet so not completely sure of/if everything is taken into account.

Questions:
1. Why is Silencing shot at the back, given that it does not effect the GCD of the previous shots.
2. Have you tried different glyphs other than Steady? i.e. Chimera, or possibly even AotH

Little off basis:
3. Does the spreadsheet take into account that serpent sting does not need refreshing as marks.
4. Does the spreadsheet take into account the effect of the two piece and four piece bonuses of T8.
5. Does the spreadsheet have the capability to input data of fights that give you an % damage increase buff at some time.

It has been my experience that marks seems to excel under fights where some form of damage % increase or modifier buff is available/in place - even when excluding readiness from this.

2. Yes. Chimera shot has basically no effect due to latency, which I don't think is the case in real life. I need to look at some combat logs to figure out what effect Chimera Shot will give, but I'm really not sure if there's a lot of benefit without soft hit cap.

5. No, but how does a specific spec benefit more than others. If a boss takes 50% increased damage, like Mimiron P3, your dps will go up by 50% regardless of your spec. If you do 7500dps with one spec and 8000 with another, lower dps spec won't suddenly do more because boss takes certain % more damage. Hunter has only rapid fire as a cooldown to blow and it's not that great compared to what other classes have (temporary pets like water elemental and army of the dead are good cooldowns to sync with others). Thanks to readiness, marks can overlap more of rapid fire duration with other buffs, like heroism, or boss taking more damage phase, but it won't break or make the spec.

for the marks build you really need to ditch the aspect mastery. Really check out my 7 / 57 / 7 build and lose hit gear :-) to about 160 hit!

If the extra damage is a debuff to the boss all specs gain the same.
If the extra damage is a buff to the player, MM and SV will do more than BM because half of the BM dps is tied in the pet (which traditionally doesn't get the buffs) - think thaddius.

I couldn´t find the [Drape of the Faceless General] in the sheet. You propably used the custom cloak function of the sheet to model it but to be honest I´d prefer to stick to those items actually included in the spreadsheet for the time beeing.

I couldn´t reproduce your dps numbers exactly even though my hit and crit rates match yours. Feel free to download the sheet and look for what I´ve set up diffrently.

It only does that because the spreadsheet default now assumes you have the Draenei buff, making the hit cap only 7%. If you manually change the buff out (a must especially if you're horde), then Mechanist's Bindings is a dps drop because you are no longer hit capped.

The boss was defaulted to a PTR dummy on the download version. I switched it to WotLK Boss for the 13083 armor, but it dramatically lowers the DPS, which is why I'm mentioning it because from the download it looks like that's the armor they were using for the MM and SV best specs.

Is trying to hit the haste soft cap so SteadyShot is <=1.5 sec not as important as before for MM / SV?
