Glyph of mend pet combined with the tenacity talents is plenty for me on Thekal. If you use a turtle you can pop the 50% damage cooldown when you're silenced (effective cooldown is only like 40 seconds). With that cooldown up the pet can actually keep itself at 100% with just silverback and spirit bonds.

Ishamael, I can help you with Gahz'ranka and Jindo.

The big hydra is a considerable walkover. The only thing to wantch is your own positioning and his aggroresets.
Basically position your pet with it's back to the cliff or something similarly solid (where it is to it's back when Gahz is engaged). MD him when he arrives, then run to the statue with the nose and stand directly below it. This is to prevent getting thrown in the air where it can hurt when you land. An alternative is to fight him in the water where it doesn't hurt to fly around. The water option provides the freedom to move away if he is tanked too close (big hitbox), while the former gives the advantage of less time spent in the air.
He drops aggro now and then and be ready to use FD for that, so go 'gentle' at all times, you don't want to have to FD before an aggroreset. Deterrence is of course a great cooldown for him when FD is resisted or you have messed up. Even if you do mess up a lot he doesn't hit all that hard and there is plenty time between resets for you to use bandages and your pet should regain aggro pretty fast.

Jindo the Hexxer, now he is an unusual boss in that here your pet is not to your advantage. Expect to have to melee him down. Kill all the trash in his courtyard first though. Engage him with ranged abilities with no pet out, then melee him. His strikes are not terribly hard and with Dragonhawk up you should dodge a good deal of his attacks. When he uses the mindcontrol totem you stand a very good chance of getting healed to full, and if not you should have the health to survive until the next totem. In essence he is pretty easy, if quite lengthy and horribly boring. Using traps for extra DPS is adviced.


Ayamiss the Hunter: Ouch! I'm not certain she can be soloed. I would think a Ferocity pet would be the best bet for when she sacrifices you (need to kill that worm fast). But with her hitting your pet as it kills the worm, it could turn nasty if Mend Pet is just running off (remember Ferocity).

Buru, if I doubt that Ayamiss is not really soloable I would consider Buru a Holy Grail of solo. Technically possible if you are the most efficent controler of your pet and have a multicapacity on the order of an octopussy.

I have just been trying Jindo and after 5 attempts I am yet to be healed by the mind control totem even once.
It could be that that have changed those mechanics, I am doing something wrong, or I am just REALLY unlucky.

-Pet is not out
-Meleeing and trapping
-Standing close to skeleton pit area

After a while I gave up on getting Jindo's totems to heal me and tried another strat.
Pull pet out. Make macro /tar Brain Wash Totem /petattack. Spam macro while trying to DPS.
Because of the short delay before the Totem gets you this will set your pet on it while your MC'd.

However I just couldn't deal with all the adds, keeping my pet up, spamming that macro etc and only got to about ~40% left on Jindo.That was my best attempt, alot went far far worse.
So either a bad idea to try that or I am just not quite skilled enough yet.

Has anyone noticed a significant increase to the damage pets take after this tuesday and all these updates the past few days? I was previously able to consistently solo, first try, attumen with my gorilla. Now all of my healing abilities cant keep up with the dps of midnight and attumen. Also, my gorilla needs a lot more healing on trash in kara as well compared to last week. Possible stealth nerf to something?

Took quite a few tries but I finally managed to solo Ayamiss the Hunter in AQ20.

It is a fight that depends alot on luck in phase 2

I have no idea how bad is the level 1 fishing in high fishing areas (trash vs fish catches), but to get your hopes up you can level really quickly to 100. Get the Kaluak fishing pole (or even the +25 one from hinterlands) +30, fishing attractor +100 and you are already at 225-230 fishing. This means you are able to catch those things with a nice consistency from the schools.

You don't actually need fishing on your hunter at all to summon the Hydra. To summon that boss you need 2 things: a
'quest' item which you buy from Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh for 1g a piece after you have completed the quest starting in ZG, the second item being 5 x Zulian Mudskunk which do need to be fished out the ZG pools. However, to actually use the items (summoning the boss) you wont need fishing at all, or even have completed the quest.

In my case, on my hunter i have fishing and get 10-15 fishes each ZG reset, i use 5 to summon my own Gazhranka, the remaining 5 i send to my priest who summons Gazhranka in her own instance when doing ZG duo with a warrior friend (who in turn helps me in Sethek Halls on his druid alt for bird mount), even though she doesnt have fishing and has not completed that quest.

Ah, good question; Mend Pet will give threat to you, 2xt5 however causes ZERO threat - not even initial threat. Same goes for the Spirit Bond heal: zero threat. I'm assuming the new Silverback heal (even though its a small one) gives some extra threat to the pet, but i didnt do any tests on this.

Has anyone tried to solo Black Wing Lair? I was wondering if it was possible to solo.

This has happened to me as well. I'm not sure what is causing it, though.
