I'm using Gorilla and BM tanking spec. I'm geared mostly from Ulduar25 with several PvP pieces. I don't have 2xT5, but pet's health not an issue here, my health is.
Maybe i'm doing something wrong :\
Edit: Strange thing. Tried frost rez in Ahune normal and it did work. Maybe heroic was bugged somehow or it's intentionally.
Either way, i don't think i'll be able to last much longer even with partial resistance :\

Here's a little video I put together. It may help if you are still having trouble. YouTube - Hunter: Solo Ahune, the Frost Lord - Heroic Mode (Slave Pens)

When soloing Ahune, I find it best to spec your normal raiding spec (I prefer 0/15/56) with a regular ferocity pet to tank the elemental and no 2-piece tier 5 bonus (I have it, but I don't use it for this fight).
At the start of the fight, MD the rock dude to your pet with growl on. Ignore the spawns and just focus dps on the earth elemental. He should die pretty quickly, and you can clean up the little spawns. After this, it's pretty easy. The spawns don't do much damage.
The key to the fight is killing it in one wave. Save all of your cooldowns for the core phase. With a raiding spec, dps pet, and all cooldowns, this should be a piece of cake. Another tip is to dps Ahune between add spawns in P1. He only takes 25% damage, but any less damage you have to do to him in P2 is a good thing.
I should also mention that I do this on normal mode. Is there any reason to do this on Heroic? It shouldn't be much different at all, so why waste the time?

Yeah, I worked on MC quite a bit today and got all the way up to Golemagg. Sulfuron was done with Black Bow of the Betrayer and Black Grasp of the Destroyer, plus 2T5. None of the priests died until they were all oom. Afterwards it was just tank and spank. I tied Golemagg a few times but couldn't make much progress even with the advice I've heard here about only building a bit of threat on Golemagg with the pet and feigning at each agro pull. It still seems to be too much for my pet to handle.
I started my MC clear with a gorilla but when it didn't work on Garr I went out and tamed a warpstalker. Turned out to be really effective even while it was 75. I'll have to go back to Golemagg when I level that pet. Or try with a Turtle like Tjorni did.

hi there,
I'd read that thread with quite much interest and I think, that I did understand what you are talking about. I've now tryed some of the dungeons mentioned here. ZG was actually no problem, just had to try Mandokir a few times.
But there's one thing I do not understand: Why are you guys allways using a gorilla-pet? Is there a difference between bears according to surviveability? (I know gorillas do have some kind of cast-interrupt, but who cares?)
'd be nice if someone could explain that to me.

You have to look at the dates when these posts were made; they were made before last patch, when only the gorilla had the Thunderstomp ability. With the latest patch though, all Tenacity pets got Thunderstomp, hence your question is valid now.

I just thought I would share my success. I'm only after the mounts, so I went to ZG and went for Mandokir first. He is a very very easy fight.
I then proceeded to Thekal and downed her on the first try. No mounts, but at least now I can do it.
Thank you for all the tips from all the posters.
I will be attempting Sethekk Halls next for the bird mount, although have to take a druid with, wish me luck.

I was hoping I can get some feedback from everyone. I would like to try and obtain two Tier 5 pieces. What bosses would you suggest would be the easiest, as well ass how many people? So far it is me and a Holy/Disc priest.
Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Shoulders from Void Reaver, Gloves from Leotheras. A group of 5-10 people is enough (to compare: i start a raid group to Kael'thas 25 man each week for his mount, and i never take more than 15 people for him, and he is considerably harder than Void Reaver and Leotheras - even at lvl 80, phase 3 can dish out alot of raid damage). Make sure you don't bring other hunters/mages/locks of course, and 2xT5 should be yours soon enough.

Anyone having any troubles finding the Emerald Dragons?
Are they known for being easy to solo, I saw a video some time ago by a hunter taking one of them down and I want to try it aswell, but either im am shit out of luck and someone is faster than me with spawns or they all have gone in hibernation.
I made this flick while trying out all the old TBCHeroics, you can find it here
*Tiny Tip*
Requires :
Dual Spec (One that doesnt have Beast Mastery)
Beast Mastery (51p in BM)
Havent really looked but havent seen anyone mentioning that you can respecc your pet if you want different specs for different encounters. Have your pet up (I use Warp Stalker) switch to Primary/Secondary depending on what you are in, poff your pet unlearns everything, switch back and put out with whatever you need for that encounter. Probably common knowledge but maybe someone missed it.

Ok well I'm at a loss on Golemagg.
I've read how to do it on here from others, and followed the steps. My problem isnt that i cant keep my pet alive, i can do that.
My problem is that i cant keep me alive. Pyroblast (the random fireball he shoots at you), is wat kills me. If it wasnt for that i could do him. but idk how to cause i tried to out-range it. but the furthest i could get (max range to him), still wasnt far enough
and i have 3/3 Hawk Eye
if anyone actually has killed him, do u have a video ? or suggestions

Yes, i killed him a few times, using the tactics described on previous page. And you are right, it is the most unforgiving fight when trying to solo MC. The damage on pet might become an issue when you have to switch to viper, and in addition to that you have to worry about your own threat on Golemagg all the time (since, like the tactics described, you can't have your pet on Golemagg full-time).
As far as staying alive on Golemagg; keep trying to position yourself in such a way that you are 'just' out of range of his pyroblast. It is weird though, at times he won't fire a pyro at you for minutes, and then all of a sudden he decides you are in range again. A simple repositioning should solve that; 3/3 Hawk Eye should be enough to outrange his pyroblasts. Just experiment some more with positioning, making sure your pet is between Golemagg and you, and that your pet is facing all 3 enemies (obviously for avoidance reasons).

Yes. I did him twice this weekend (crazy resets). I couldn't bug the raptor. I always got teleported back to the boss from the platform.
I just killed the raptor, went up the stairs and jumped on the platform. No more teleports, and I didn't get charged/feared.

I did ZG yesterday and had no problems, and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Other than that, I'm not sure that you both are talking about the same thing, one tried to despawn it, the other just evade bugging him?

Odd - he evaded for me just a few hours ago. That’s strange too as I never try to bug out the raptor, it’s just a waste of time when with 2 set T5 my pet can comfortably tank both. It happened quite by accident too; I pulled as usual, let my pet grab them then ran up the stairs and jumped on to the ledge but accidentally tabbed in to the raptor and tagged it a few times when he started evade bugging. Switched back to Bloodlord and within a minute or so the raptor was attacking my pet again.
