I'm still solo'ing some bosses in Zul'Gurub (Tiger, Raptor, Cobra and the one you fish up) for some some extra gold and hopefully a mount drop one of these days), but I've noticed some changes at the Tiger and Raptor bosses.

Tiger: I'm having more difficulty getting the Boss to MD towards my pet. (I'm using the park pet at entrance, md boss to pet method here). It could be because of the MD change, but usually it takes me about 3-4 tries before I actually manage to MD the boss towards my pet. I put MD on my pet, run towards boss, shoot him at least twice, run back, let him hit me, and fd. I'm curious if any of you are also having more problems here.

Raptor: Here I'm using the place pet at base of tower, MD boss towards pet, let raptor run after me on top of the tower, and drop down one level method. The raptor still evades, but the last 5 times I always seem to get summoned to the boss the first time he casts his "i'm watching you" spell. I just run to the top of the tower again and drop down one level and then it seems to go as planned. Others having the same experience?

Leave your pet at the entrance. When you go to MD, shoot him with one instant and he still comes for you. Shoot him with a second instant and it should go to your pet and then FD. No need to let him hit you.

For Tiger i usually just send my pet into his little cage and he gets initial threat with thunderstomp. I follow that up with a volley md which kills off the 2 tiger adds. After those 2 are dead i pull my pet out so that they don't bug out on the little ledge like they have in the past. From there it is just taking down the 3 mobs evenly while stunning the add that heals.

For Raptor i usually clear the 2 troll packs on the right side and the raptor pack in the front left. When he comes down i do a md multi-shot and focus on the raptor, to burn it down. When the raptor is dead just time your BW wrath for his fears and be ready to FD/MD when he drops agro after a whirlwind.

I do it quite similarly. I send my pet in, let it thunderstomp, then pull it out of the cage repositioning the fight outside. I then MD/Volley to kill off the tiger adds and then start my burn on the three bosses. Personally I don’t bother clearing any of the trash in his area; I do the whole fight in the small enclave where the boss is.

Raptor I haven’t done for quite a while, but I do remember having similar issues. I ended up realising it was positioning on the ledge; if you’re too close to the edge he tries to target you for a charge and since he can’t and it registers as an evade, he uses the teleport to bring you down. If you’re a little further back you’re completely out of his LoS so the threatening gaze is ignored and you don’t get ported as you’re not top of his agro table.

MDing to the entrance is SO much easier. Put pet on passive/stay right under the archway, MD to him and go hit only the boss with arcane -> aimed, when the boss gets to you u feign and all the other 4 adds reset while the boss continues on to ur pet. Then it's a simple tank and spank with no need to evenly bring them down or stun or watch health or anything like that. Fight changes from a 2-4 minute fight to a 1 minute fight every time, if that. When you're running turtle -> tiger -> raptor every 3 days like clockwork you get to the point that those extra minutes add up (and it's just so much simpler and requires less concentration).

For raptor I've found the most consistent method is to bring them down to the ground level and then jump onto that ledge to the right of the stairs and DPS the boss from there. Once boss goes down I take down the pet. No need for t5 and much more consistent (for me at least) than either killing raptor first, the getting raptor to evade trick or just burning him down on the top platform.

So I just soloed Oromok in Heroic Nexus, including the trash up to him, using kiting / 'clever use of game mechanics' similar to Dysphroria's videos.

Not sure what is going on with the ZG Raptor Boss. Two teirs of gear ago I could get him down with little problems, even if I didn't stand on the stair.

I'm in 4 piece Windrunner's now and I went to try last night, he killed my pet and I FD'd out of the fight 6 times - didn't get him down. I tried the 2nd stair, I tried killing the raptor first, not killing the raptor, without the stair. Each time my pet would die (tried both Rhino and Crocolisk - Crocolisk specifically specced off the pet spec given here for tanking) before he got much past 50% (the boss).

The closest I got was when I just stood on the ground and soaked his charges, got him to 20%ish before the pet went down (raptor still up) and then I died and gave up.

I could do it before - now having many problems. Grrr - making me mad.

I found that the most pain-free way to do it for me is to slap on 2pc T5 (15% of dmg done heals pet) and use a crab pet (for the 40% extra healing received talent). With this setup, I just MD both the boss and raptor to my pet, then I hop up the stairs and jump onto the platform.

These days I use the bugs to solo Raptor and Tiger boss so I can stay in MM spec (and have surv as my dual spec instead of BM). You can even use a regular Ferocity pet like this (usually my pet even has the curse from Bat boss - increased physical damage taken - or the disease from the raptor groups around Mandokir which I kill for the pet it can drop)

With 2t5 (I'm assuming you are using this) the fight becomes trivial. In case you didn't know the bugs at Raptor and Tiger boss yet, I'll mention them here again:

Raptor boss: Pull boss downstairs, have pet grab both boss and raptor, hunter runs upstairs, jumps down to the middle platform of the temple. Pull pet back (put on passive), boss + raptor stay downstairs just looking at you. After 10 seconds boss teleports to middle level (for a moment he will be sitting on his mount), after which you can engage him with pet. Hunter jumps down and runs halfway up the stairs to DPS the boss (who won't enrage, fear, charge, and without a pet to put sunders on your pet)

Tiger boss: Put pet in the archway of entrance to Tiger boss' area, leave all trash alone and just MD your pet. Run towards boss, stand a bit to the left (so when you pull boss, he won't run through the right pack and aggro them), and shoot one auto shot to boss. Wait for boss to almost reach you, fire a 2nd auto and then FD. Boss will run to pet, all adds will run back. From that point on you only have to kill the boss, without having to worry about adds, heals, resses etc.

As I said, with these exploits you can do both bosses with a standard MM spec and a Ferocity pet, while using 2t5 to make it easier for you.

ahh, thanks for the adjusted strat - I was doing the "bug" up on the 2nd stair, but I wasn't calling the pet to me - didn't knwo about that part.

And actually I don't have 2t5 - which wasn't a big deal earlier. Like I said, these are the same pets and I've killed him solo months ago - in Naxx gear. I'm in 4p Windrunner now, better gear, but having a significantly harder time killing the boss. But I'll try recalling the pet back to me and then moving away - if I do it right that will fix the issue right up as I KNOW I can get him down if the raptor's gone (with no enraging).

I was also wondering if perhaps I should switch out my PVP gear - perhaps the stam helping me get over that last little bit (I'll try it out if I still have issues).

And can the raptor mount drop off the trash?? I could have sworn it only dropped off the boss? If it drops off the trash there's no point to killing the boss.

Boss drops mount (regardless if you kill raptor add first or last, or not at all if you use the exploit)

Raptor packs around him can drop a rare pet which can sell for a few hundred gold depending on server. Just a MD + one volley is enough for one pack.

Has anyone done Thekal this reset?

I first tried the 'MD to archway, FD' way, the adds reset but when I dropped Thekal, it resurrects in priest form, killed again and priest form again.

Then I did it the normal way, killing everything at roughly the same time, but they still kept ressing.

I did Thekal just yesterday without any issues using the MD to the archway trick.

Raptor I did using the trick in Pjins post just a few posts up.
And panther you can still make her adds not agro by feigning until the mark runs out.

So can confirm they all seem to still work, no idea what happened with yours
