Has anyone here successfully solofarmed Slabhide on normal for the mount?

I’ve heard (completely unconfirmed and vague) rumors that the mount only drops when using the LFG tool, sort of like the Blue Drake in Ocolus. I’d appreciate it if someone could prove me wrong

This year's holiday gift is a mini-controllable zeppelin. As an interesting side-effect using it instantly dismisses your pet.

Potentially useful.

To Tinhay and anybody else concerned - I succesfully farmed mount from Slabhide in Stonecore (normal) without any LFG tool.

Rare drop from both normal and heroic Stonecore. You can solo him without bothering with the first boss so I put up a barebones tutorial on how to do it. I improved my methods a bit since the video and that is going SV through the trash as usual but using the turtle. Freezing a the Berserker and Wyvern stinging a caster and then freezing it. My pet doesn't die this way and it's much smoother.

Thanks for the tips, realy helped. I didnt made exactly like you . But was very similar. I used BM spec in all packs but 1st (last in video). After 2 or 3 runs I was doing it very fast. The video realy helped me, thanks.
Anyway, today will try another way that can be faster but if goes wrong will take way more time. Making all packs like you do the 1st... Burn mage and FD on all packs.

I got a tactic in mind (as MM though since need to selfheal fireballs I think) but just need to make time to get in there. Got a brand new 24" so now my recordings will look better.

Hi It's me again... After my rushing succsess last week against FL10 I tried FL25

Setup:
In "the red corner" 2 demolishers and 2 bikes.
In "the blue corner" 3 demolishers and 2 bikes.

I did use the strat similar as seen on youtube for 80 soloing FL. That means I start off in the blue corner fire all my pyrit till 9 stacks let the dot tick one or two times fire my last shot. jump out of the demolisher into a well placed bike drive to the red corner maybe enflaming the oil spill... firing all my pyrit as before; rinse & repeat.

With this method I got him to 7,54 million life. That's nothing since I was able to do 590k dps '(Or more since this numbers are "corrupted" by driving with two bikes in order to down him...).

The problem kicks in here:
When a demolisher is abandond for a specific time (I guess 3-5 minutes) It blows up and respawns... My last demolisher blewed up this way so I missed this 10 pyrit shots. I tried to down this last millions by using the bikes... Very frustrating and disappointing. silly bikes. I xfire'd the try so maybe you can learn from my mistakes.

The demos even blow up while setting up the vehicles... so even while placing I have to hop in every now and then.
But I don't think this will work.

I'll try him one more time now. If I fail I think I'll upload this best try.

Hi all.
I'm very interested in this topic for make money and collect storic items and tier set.
In this week i farm Slabhide mount with success, kill Magtheridon, Al'ar, Void Reaver and now i'm concentrating on Astromancer solarian; could be not bad try farm the Ashes of al'ar from Kael.
I read that Solarian is doable, i have try it without success, i stay too much time on the air, but i have an idea to drag her near a tunnel and see what happen.
I want to know if someone has try to solo Kael25. I don't see nothing impossible in that fight and watching a video of a DK give me some nice ideas about killing him...

Kael mind controls people if there is more then one 'person' around.
From memory your pet will count as another 'person'.

That will either get you mind controlled and kill your pet or just plain reset the encounter.
DK's do not have to worry about that

It must be tryed!!
He Mind control every 30 seconds and my FD + Gliph have a CD of 25.
I will try to trac MC ability and FD when he is near to cast.

After soloing Slabhide, who is not dangerous but very annoying due to line of sight I wanted to try Altairus now.
The problem seems to be that the time window to feign seems to be only a small part of a second and I cannot react fast enough. Also using feign before he could cast will not help because he simply will wait for you to stand up and breath you again.

So any advice regarding Altairus? Maybe exact timers for his breath?

I was browsing 100k+ health hunters on the armory when I suddenly began thinking about how much damage the Burning crusade ''raid wipe'' abilities actually would do against a 85 character. I went to wowhead and found Kil'jaeden and he doesn't seem to have an enrage timer. That is probably only because his ability ''Darkness of a Thousand Souls'' would one-shot a player in Burning crusade gear. Here is some information about the ability:

Darkness of a Thousand Souls: Kil'jaeden does a raidwide emote ('Kil'jaeden begins to channel dark energy') and covers himself with wings. After 8 seconds, he will hit all players inside the instance for 47500 to 52500 Shadow damage. This is countered by the Shield of the Blue ability (see the Dragon Orbs section below). ~45 second cooldown. Not resistible.
It's imperative that you bring him down to 55% (engaging phase 4) before the third Darkness of a Thousand Souls of the phase or there will be no dragon available to use Shield of the Blue.

In Burning crusade this would obviously kill anyone not inside a ''Shield of the Blue'' and you only had a set amount of time to kill Kil'jaeden before your raid ran out of blue drakes to channel the ability. That kind of created an enrage-timer for the fight.
I also checked some of his other abilites and he doesn't seem to have any ''this makes the fight impossible'' abilites like a mind control. In other words; Nothing seems to keep anyone from soloing this guy other than the damage he does.

Since my account is frozen at the moment I can't check it myself but maybe using a spirit beast would be enough to heal through his abilites and then I can't see anything keeping hunters from killing him. I actually find it strange that a he hasn't been killed already solo(or maybe he has but I haven't found a video of it) by a paladin or deathknight.

Used Spec: Talentrechner - World of Warcraft

Using buffood/elixirs/etc helps. Try killing the healer first using all CDs - interrupt the first heal, which may be cast at ~70%, use readiness, rapid fire again and interrupt the second heal at ~30% again with silencing shot. If your pet gets sheeped during the burst phase, feign. If you get sheeped use insignia or start the fight again. After this focus the warlock because his deathcoil is kinda annoying. The rest is pretty easy.
