Stonecore still soloable

It's still possible to solo this. The pull/kill order has just been changed. Kill the third pack then go to the first, Dps Manastorm till he flees then feign. Kill the rest of the first pack then Dps Manastorm down at the 2nd pack. This will cause him to go to the last group.

Mount farming can continue.

I've been having the same issue.

I can position myself to where I'm able to FD and cause most of the infernals to despawn, and the beginning of the fight usually goes very smoothly, but then he will suddenly deal massive damage to my turtle and kill him in seconds. Here's the log of one such occurrence:

Anetheron's melee swing hits Raphael for 16881 Physical.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore's Brilliance Aura is refreshed on Raphael.
Raphael gains 40 Happiness from Raphael's Happiness.
Raphael's Silverback heals Raphael for 2938.
Raphael's Cower fades from Raphael.
Anetheron's melee swing hits Raphael for 23838 Physical.(10217 Blocked)
Raphael's Frenzy Effect is refreshed on Raphael.

Been following this thread for a while and figured it was time I contributed some info.

For Anetheron:

I did this as MM with Spirit Bond, a Turtle pet, Glyph of Raptor Strike for the damage reduction, as well as a Prismatic Elixir and Drums of Forgotten Kings to help resist some of the Carrion Swarms.

You want to have an Infernal up throughout most of the fight, but only one - to hit you and break the sleep so you can keep Mend Pet up.

Get as many NPC's into the fight as you can at the start so they can be Carrion Swarm targets and contribute some extra DPS. Stand at max range from Anetheron before the first Infernal is summoned and make sure there are no NPC's around you.

Drop an Immolation Trap at your feet for the Infernal, it should only gain aggro on you and nothing else. When you see Anetheron summoning a new Infernal, Feign Death and the one on you should despawn. Repeat this throughout the fight.

Save Cower and Shell Shield/Harden Carapace for when Anetheron does his multiple ~30k hits.

Using glyphed Raptor Strike on the Infernals will help slow your HP loss during the fight but you may need to bandage at some point in between them.

I've been trying to work on Kael as marks recently. I'm having trouble with the P2-3 transition. I've also noticed that pets apparently cannot go behind the statue now. At least mine can't; we players can still.

On terms of Vashj, I'm not an engineer so I can't test this, but is there a way to maybe time disengage and looterang at approx the same time to get a loot on the elemental when you're at the generator?

So I tried to do Kel'Thuzad tonite. I had only about 45 minutes before my guild's raid to try it, but here's what I was able to determine:

Phase 1. The skeletons have 1600 health. Easy 1shot. The Banshees move very slow and have a short range. They have 50k health, easy kills at range. The Abominations have about 70k health. They do not hit that hard in melee, although they kinda attack fast and they stack a Mortal Wounds debuff.

As you know, the adds start off slow and pick up overtime. It seems very slow initially and it is. Your biggest problem will be the abominations. You can kite and one-shot everything else, but you need to get the aboms onto your pet. During the last minute of Phase 1, there will be multiple abominations up that you should be misdirecting to your pet. You want to make sure your pet doesn't get overwhelmed with more than 2-3 at a time; the mortal wounds stacking sucks. When you have a few seconds to spare and some space (since the last minute gets really hectic), you should burn down an abominaton. Also, multishotting groups of skeletons works wonders.

DO NOT DO NOT DO. NOT. FEIGN DEATH IN THIS PHASE. Kel'Thuzad WILL reset. Feigning Death causes the bug with the adds despawning. As soon as one despawns, the whole encounter resets.

Phase 2. When you go into phase 2, there will still probably be a lot of adds up. There will probably be 2-3 banshees up, 3 or so abominations, and a lot of skeletons. As soon as KT aggros and you get him MD'd to your pet, feign death. Any adds that only had aggro on you should reset (the Banshees take forever to move back to their spot, though). Your pet will have a lot of incoming damage if it still has a few adds on it, so burn down the adds the best you can and keep it healed.

Notes about the Frost Blast: It can hit you anywhere in the room. It is on a 45 second cooldown. On 10man, the main target can't be iceblocked. Since KT is tauntable, it is possible to take aggro right before the frost blast is up, and no one should be hit by it. It is also LoSable.

Good luck to anyone to try this too. I'm still working on the P1/P2 transition. I assume the Guardians of Icecrown will despawn the same way.

Also, I tried to solo Razorscale the other day. It suffers from the same Feign Death Problem: Feigning Death anytime while Razorscale is in the air will cause the encounter to reset.

Anyone have tips for soloing the second boss in Vortex Pinnacle? I've tried LoSing his breath but it seems to ignore LoS, and the damage mounts too quickly for me to outheal. I haven't tried using a spirit beast yet, not sure if its heal is up often enough to counter the frost damage.

And for those of you doing Stonecore for mount, it's still very easy. Kill the third pack (drop a frost trap at your feet and set pet in on the Earthshaper; the charging adds will trap themselves when they charge you). Then go back and burst Millhouse down in the first pack and zone out. Zone back in and kill first pack like the third. Finally, move to second, burst Millhouse down again, and then dismiss pet and FD. You don't actually need to kill them. I've got the run down to 16 minutes, but still no luck with mount!

In my experience there is 2 ways to deal with this boss.

1) You focus on minimazing incoming damage by avoiding as much of the frostbreath as possible.
Before his frostbreath cast is halfway you Feign Death. If you do this too late the cast won't be cancelled so you will really have to watch the cast closely.
If Feign Death is on cooldown use Deterrence. Chimera Shot and Spirit Bond should provide enough healing for the casts you can't avoid.
If you still lose too much health use bandages right after a frostbreath cast.

2) You focus on maximizing damage output before you take too much damage from the frostbreath.
No need to watch the cast at all. Instead focus on getting the Upwind buff as much as possible.
While under the effects of this buff you regenerate focus through Steady Shot very fast and can spam alot of hardcasted Aimed Shots.

Usefull self buffs here are Drums of Forgotten Kings - Item - World of Warcraft , Prismatic Elixir - Item - World of Warcraft and Magic Resistance Potion - Item - World of Warcraft

Heroic Pit of Saron

I tried to solo Heroic Pit of Saron this morning, and failed to kill Scourgelord Tyrannus (4.06 Beastmastery).

The rest is rather easy, only close call before the tunnel were the undead packs - I died on the first one due to not using CC (that blight can be very nasty to deal with), switched to a spirit beast and had to reset the second one after the first two kills due to my pet dying midway through it.
Then I realized I could skip the last two. I'm not sure if the first two can be skipped as well, though.

Second death occured in my first attempt on the tunnel, I think because I didn't kill that big elemental as my first priority, focusing on the elite skeletons. A scarab/turtle is a must here in my opinion. It might also be much easier as survival due to their far stronger aoe.
Second attempt on that gauntlet was a breeze since some of the elite skellies didn't respawn. I simply got back into the circle and cleared little ones until I was "ahead of the repop timer", then pushed through the end with the pet aggroing everything. Then dismiss pet, feign death, kill the last two skeletons and enjoy the cutscene and the (obviously bugged) achievement Don't Look Up - Achievement - World of Warcraft.

Now for Tyrannus. He has a nasty debuff - the hunter can't really afford to do any ranged damage nor pet mending due to Overlord's Brand - Spell - World of Warcraft. The only tactic I found mildly successful was to use only kill command and resummon a new pet to heal it back to full, while kiting during enrage phases. It seemed very random though due to the occasional deep freeze you get from the dragon.
I didn't have enough time to work harder on him, and only had one tanking pet with me, so I gave up at around 60%.

Has anyone been successful with him yet?

You can also start by dps-ing Manastorm, then zone out and back in or dismiss & FD, then kill the pack. At the second pack same ritual. And at the third pack you simply dps Manastorm again and FD, that way you can skip the third pack and don't have to move all the way to the back to kill the third pack first.

I did not check if the second pack adds if you try to dps Manastorm at the third, I might try that tonight.

edit:
if you dps Manastorm at the third pack with the second pack still alive, he runs back to the second pack.

For stonecore I just dps millhouse into the second group, run by and clear the third group, then dps manastorm again and feign and you're on to the boss, only have to clear one group. Mobs obviously pull when you dps manastorm in the second group, so its important to be fast on him and ready to dismiss+feign of course.

For kael, pets can go behind the statue still, and thats the best place for it to tank, it's just a little buggy the pathing and such around the room, try geting close to your pet and spam pet follow (defualt ctrl-2) and you should be fine, then just move the pet back to the spot you want him to be, try hold aggro with it all the while. The key to this phase is avoiding every mind control obviously (deterence and feigning seem to work, but you want to rely on LOS not those things). I usually just stay out until the call is made (but in LOS of pet to keep heals rolling) and then go in for a few precious seconds of dps on the boss. For the final phase of kael if I had my pet go into melee range it'd get one shot often, so I just place it on the platform but 10-15 yards out of range, once you get to this phase you're home free pretty much.

Few other tips for Kael, use snake trap on the engineer to avoid Remote Toy, deterrence also works. For the phase with all 4 adds, Blow all your cooldowns on the mage first while your pet tanks the melee mobs and engineer. After the mage kill the big guy thaladred, you kite him sometimes, your pet tanks him sometimes. Then kill the one that fears (you can los it) and finally the kill the engineer.

For kaelthas p2-p3 transition, try not to have a mend up on your pet, as this will pull aggro, instead pop pet cd's for the first seconds of the phase while he establishes some aggro. Although you could just misdirect each add to your pet, doing so wastes a lot of time that you should be spending to pop cd's and kill the astromancer quickly, and before thaladred becomes too much of a problem.

I prefer to kill the engineer 3rd, and sanguinar last, because of the stuns, so positioning him correctly for p4 is much easier. I also found that pet pathing to get behind the pillar works much better BEFORE kael becomes active, so I always start positioning him there as I finish off sanguinar. His fear will not usually displace your pet too badly, it will remain behind the pillar or close enough.

Not really soloing (this looked like the most appropriate topic to post it in), but I have tanked Argaloth with turtle as BM, which was healed by Holy Paladin (9 dps 1 healer set up). I had average 352 ilvl gear (pvp 4 piece), normal dps gear.

Meteor Slash ability is reduced through pet's aoe resistance and the debuff is not applied, which means no-one has to stack up for splitting the damage. The pet was often taking 50k hits, so I suspect a healer with bursty heals is advisable.

After Fel Firestorm the pet tends to run through the boss turning him around to face the group. I have worked around this by coming to pet and setting it to passive for last couple of seconds of firestorm and after re-engaging the boss I would run back to the group.

The only thing healer has to do is to dispel Consuming Darkness from 3 players asap, which sometimes might coincide with pet receiving a big hit. I tried to save Last Stand for such case, but used cower and shell shield on cooldown otherwise.

The best dps in the group was enhancement shaman doing 19k dps and he said that turtle's threat was more than adequate and he didn't have to slow down at all. (pet spec that I used: Hunter Pet Calculator - Wowhead )

I was having some trouble dpsing the weapons in time and with that I was having a hard time dpsing all 4 adds and at least 2 weapons that were still alive so I had to have more time.
I just started the event and ran away outside of the room all the way to instance entrance, killed the first two adds there. Ran away back near kael room and killed mage and enginear.
Waited for the weapons, killed the most I could, just 2 left, the other fase started, killed mage and enginear, by this time one of that adds that were far away from that place gets to me, killed him, killed the two remaining weapons and the warrior comes last.
I had time to do all, without any stress at all, when kael comes you get on a corner and the pet on the other side. Dps and heal after he casts the "Obey me" and thats it.

It takes more time because you need to kill all the trash in your way but it makes the fight even easier, with no pet bugs and with plenty of time to kill all adds before kael comes.

Felmyst soloed - Possible a first kill going to the hunter class

Here's the video: YouTube - Hunter solo Felmyst World first (I'm extremely satisfied with the fact that this actually might just be the first time someone has managed to kill this boss solo). More about that below including my stratetic.

I have searched a lot around the net but I just haven't found anything about someone else killing this boss solo. Not a single post. So I actually think this is one of the very rare cases (and maybe even the first) where a hunter has been able to solo a boss before any other class has been able to do it (even those god-awful dk's).

The Felmyst fight isn't really the hardest fight to do actually. You have to keep yourself alive against her different abilites but that's doable with a MM spec and with good use of Chimera shot and bandages. There's also adds going after you in the flying phases and together with her chasing you with her green beem and doing deep breaths it can be quite hard to stay in control of the fight and avoid all the stuff (I wiped several times to her breath). But that can also be dealt with and then it shouldn't be too hard at all right? - Except the fact that she has a 10 minute enrage timer, ~6 mill. hitpoints and stays in the air - unreachable - for large parts of the fight. This boss has a very tight enragetimer with the current gearlevels and it was only with pre-potting, going all out dps on her when she was reachable and using AOTH most of the time I could, that made me able to kill her before she killed me (As seen in the video she even went berserk while in the last air phase but luckily she had 1 hp by then).

Most of my tactic can be seen in the video but in short it's all about having enough hp to be able to heal through her damage with Chimera shot and enough dps to kill her before she enrages. Watching out for her beem and breaths is also crucial and you need to deal with a lot of adds in the airphases. I was wearing the best possible dps gear I had and together with buffs I was able to reach 135k hp with my turtle having 125k hp.
