Well, guess I finally finished with this boss.
Then again, I haven't done the Brundir/Molgeim/Steelreaker combo.

This boss is a real battle for survival (both pet and hunter). I did lousy dps in phase 3 and still killed him.

hey guys,

Since 3 weeks I try to solo some bosses. Now I have a question to you: How can I beat Teron Gorefiend in BT? On Page 32 said Durendil "Gorefiend: Killed".

Can someone explain it or link a videoguide?

Just a note on your macros.

Master call doesnt need any target if the target is you. Just use it and the pet will make it on you and will back doing whatever he was doing.

Your silence macro isnt very good either, your macro targets the mob, sends the spell and target your last target again.
Here is a simple one:
/cast [target=focus] silencing shot
This will silencing whatever you want without the need of target, it just does. The focus can be replaced by a mob name too.

The trick is to not be on the aggro list of the boss at the same time as your pet basically.

So...engage boss and use every cooldown you have and Feign Death within 15-20 seconds of pulling him.
I found the best way to do this is by moving your pet to the middle of the room while you misdirect the boss to it.
During this 6 minute period your pet damages the boss and you keep it alive by alternating Cower and Spirit Mend.
When you have less than 1 minute left before Feign Death expires, put your pet on passive (you don't want Bloodthirsty healing to mess up your timing) and watch it's healthbar closely.
When your pet is about to receive the killing blow from the boss, jump up and shoot the boss to avoid it from resetting the encounter.
You now have 25 seconds of cooldown on Feign Death.
The first 15 seconds you spend kiting the boss as good as you can, use traps, Disengage and glyphed Raptor Strike to survive this bit while still trying to dps as much as possible.
When you have less than 10 seconds of cooldown on Feign Death use Deterrence and start ressurecting your pet.
Feign Death immidiately when your pet is up again (and pray the pet's healthbar jumps to full fast, stupid bug...).
By now the boss should be around 35% health.
Let your pet continue to damage the boss and when 9 minutes since the pull have passed, jump up, use all cooldowns and burn the boss down within the remaining minute.

How much gear would one need to activate XT-002's Hard Mode? The encounter itself doesn't seem difficult at all, only the activation and the following DPS requirement seem to be a barrier.

Yes, XT Hardmode seems possible. I almost killed him. The damage done is not the problem, its more the damage taken. You also need luck with Searing Light. Sometimes you start the bandage and one second later you get the debuff which results in zero healing. Now you still can try to bandage only when you get Gravity Bomb but you get way more Searing Light debuff's.
Dont stack stamina. More stamina results in more damage from Tandrum but your bandageheal stays the same. Check my Log here. One healcrit more and he would be dead.

My comment to the overall soloing thing: I'd love it to have a forum where we can post world first kills/kills overall with videos and discuss things. Sure, this thread is nice and Durendil's Blog isnt bad too but you have actually no overview and you gain bans very fast (that is no criticism, your forum, your rules!)

A topic in the hunter forums on Battle.net could be used for this if it's being kept updated. Of course that would mean that either the US or EU people couldn't get to post in it (different forums), unless a topic was made on both the US and EU forums.

I've had a lot of success using [Purified Shard of the Flame] on healing-intensive fights to keep me up (especially on Eredar Twins where it forms a great buffer for the horrible randomness on that fight). You should see how much it helps you on XT Hard Mode.
