I've finally gotten the rotation test functionality working properly. It won't be on by default because it takes a lot more effort for the server to run it (it seems to run reasonably quick but I don't want to overload things till I see how the server takes it with some load), but you can just turn it on in the settings if you want to use it instead of the default shot rotation GCD estimate. At the moment I don't have any of the options associated with it setup, I'm using the same defaults that are in the spreadsheet, but I may include a few of those options later.
I also found some issues with the chimera and kill shot formulas that I addressed while I was working on the rotation test, so pretty much all specs should see some difference in their total dps, in general the numbers should come out closer to the spreadsheet though.
This website was working beautifully for me a couple of weeks ago, but now I am unable to click on any of the buttons on the page. Nothing has changed on my end, and I even dropped the security settings to low to see if any content was unable to load.
It looks like there was a small issue in Javascript which wasn't causing problems in the other browsers I tested but looked to be generating errors under IE7. It should be resolved now, please let me know if you're still having issues.
I've added display of the dps gain from set bonuses under the gear bonuses section and included a few low level bonuses that were missing.
I've also modified the pet expertise formula when 3.2 changes are enabled to reflect the current test results I'm seeing on PTR. Basically the draenei hit aura seems to have no effect on pet expertise. Focused aim seems to function at a reduced effect for expertise (which I'm estimating to be at half the value it should be at, but the test results aren't following this pattern perfectly). It doesn't look like the focused aim issue will be fixed before live so I figured I'd better get it implemented as best as I can estimate it for now, when it gets fixed or I have more solid numbers I'll change it again.
I just submitted a bug report through the site for this issue, but maybe I'm doing something wrong: selecting Snapper Extreme (+40 hit) doesn't seem to apply the hit to the calculations, stat rankings, or in the stats box.
I found somthing weird, which I can´t belief nor explain, so maybe it´s a bug.
The sheet gives the highest DPS without using Arcan or Aimed, just using Silent, Kill, Chim and Steady.
Skillung: 7/57/7; no Arcan; 3/3 Barage; 1/3 Imp Barage; 3/3 Imp Steady.
Glyphs: Serpent; Chim; Steady
Best buffs and debuffs, latenzy changed to 60ms,
My Gear from Armory.
I've been testing your save Tobensen and I think I tracked down the reason for it. This only seems to happen when you have the rotation test enabled and only under certain latency cases. The issue is that random procs like ISS are handled in a not very random fashion in the rotation test (because to do so would return different results every time) so they tend to come at consistent intervals. Under certain conditions those intervals will hit different shots, which will affect the dps value of ISS. Without arcane and aimed, all the ISS procs in your case were coming up for chimera shot every time, which was giving a higher amount of dps than what you'd get if the ISS procs were more evenly distributed between the different shots.
I've added more detail to the debug report option so you can see what the output of the rotation test is in terms of total shots and the shot order in case this interests you. Unfortunately I'm not sure of a good workaround to the problem at the moment that doesn't involve a more random handling of ISS which would give inconsistent dps values.
I've also fixed the hit food issue that SkyMonkey reported.
I've also gotten reports of the gem menus not working properly in Opera 9.x. This is due to an Opera bug with the way option groups are handled (whenever you change your gem list, which happens when loading a saved setting or using the item filters, they will break) and at the moment the workaround is just to use Opera 10.x or another browser. I hope to solve the problem later but I need to figure out how to code around the bug without causing problems for other browsers.
Fantastic tool. Minor request - would it be possible to have the LnL proc rate as a setting while the true proc rate is discovered? The current estimates from the SV thread are around 20%, which obviously has a pretty big impact.
I'm going to wait on doing anything with the LnL proc rate till we have a bit more data on what the new rate is. I've posted some of what I've collected in the survival thread and asked for more data collected from others there.
Looks like there is a mistake with calculating DPS after reaching ARP cap. (I reached 11088DPS with 101% ARP but it should be capped there).
Also it would be nice to have a version number of the spreadsheet used.
But great work, much better than DL every new spreadsheet
Sorry I forgot: A direct link to the profile would be very nice (without "public settings" plopping up and with a "link to profile" after saving it to copy paste. It's a bit unhandy to handle profiles)
I have a little error concerning gems. Whenever I try to load a saved setting, there are no gems added to the drop down menus and since there are none to choose from my sockets stay empty.
When loading my gear from the armory everythings works fine.
I already have deleted my saved settings and saved one anew, but it didn't help.
Any idea why this happens, what I can do about it or more info you need to trace the error?
Would it be possible to get an export feature? So that gear, gem and enchants could be exported into something that could be more easily cut and pasted?
Alduin I located the problem with the ArPen cap and I think it should be fixed now. Please let me know if you're still noticing an issue.
The thing about the spreadsheet version is that it will never match up. Most of my original work was based off of 89e and since then I have been monitoring the changes to the spreadsheet that are posted in the change log and applying them where I can, as well as fixing reported bugs and adding in my own modifications occasionally when warranted (such as the pet expertise calculation). There is no easy way for me to analyze each spreadsheet version for changes not noted in the change log, so I just have to hope that Shandara lists them all (occasionally she doesn't, which was the case with the chimera/serpent issue I fixed a bit ago). I do keep a log in the FAQ section under Version History with every change I'm making so you can tell if I've applied new things there.
Can you clarify what you mean by a direct link to profile? Are you talking about when you click on an external link to a saved setting and the public settings window comes up while it's loading? That's something I'd like to fix, right now it's setup that way so the error message functionality is consistent even if you follow a link from outside, but it's somewhat clunky so it's on my list of things to do. If you're talking about something else try to explain it more.
Hagen, are you using Opera 9.x? Opera has a bug with optgroups and gem lists which I posted about (whenever the optgroups are modified it fails to work properly), I haven't written a workaround for it yet but it should work fine in Opera 10.x or another browser for now. If you're using a different browser experiencing the same problem please let me know which browser and version.
Namarus I've been thinking of setting up some kind of export, but I'm not really sure what format it should be in. Are you looking for something human readable or something you can import into some program? My hope is that at some point I can get some sort of cross export going with the spreadsheet, but I'm unable to get the save to file option in the spreadsheet to work for me so I'm not really sure even what format that data is in.
I've noticed that the analyzer will allow the use of two death verdict trinkets, although the tooltip on the item indicates that only 1 can be worn at a time.
The site doesn't filter on unique items or dragons eye limits or even on professions or valid specs. I assume that people generally know about those limits, and that if they go over the limits they're doing it for testing something. I may at some point add in warnings about it, but I don't think I'm going to prevent it entirely.
For now I have upped the proc rate on LnL to 12% (or 4% per talent pt) since that seems closer to an accurate picture of what we're seeing now in game. Tests seem to potentially be putting LnL as high as 20% but that doesn't compensate for the cooldown which currently I don't have a good way to model around, so the 12% number should be closer to what we're likely to see following standard rotations. I'll update it again when we have more data.
Note that the rotation test is currently giving some strange uptime behavior with regards to the new rate that I need to figure out and may be producing unduly low LnL procrates. I'll update it more when I have a chance to track down the issue.
Found a Problem with Buffs:
I got Trueshot Aura in my spec due to raiding more randomly and with varying Groups.
Im at that Equip level where MM seems to overtake SV in dmg.
I try to use the webapp regularly because it is more convenient than the Spreadsheet and i can play around with it at work.
Problem is i do 3249,2 DPS (Unbuffed) without TSA and i do 3249,49 with TSA. doesn`t quite seem right and the impact is felt much more in Real Raid.
And T8.5 Helmet worked 2 days ago and now it isn`t supported.
Goschti, are you sure you didn't have TSA enabled in the buffs list? I just doublechecked and it looks to be working fine, so the only thing I can guess is that the buff was enabled and therefore wasn't affected by your talent change. Let me know if this wasn't the case, and if so please save your settings and tell me what the name is so I can try to reproduce it.
I also can't reproduce the issue you report with the T8.5 helm. It's coming up just fine for me (I wear it myself so I think I'd notice if it was missing), do you not see it in the list at all?
BTW folks I am working my way through the latest changes in the 91c spreadsheet now and I should have an update soon to reflect the latest bugfixes.
Hey Rivkah i just wanted to make a post with your analyzer. With your new Proc rate for BA set to 12% firing BA ahead of explosive leads to an increase in dps (slight as it might be). I wasn't sure if you wanted to correct your common shot rotation or if you are waiting until being able to model the CD along with this new proc rate.
Edit- This only matters when using the rotation test option
I've just applied a large number of bug fixes and modifications based on the notes from Shandara's latest spreadsheet release. I also adjusted the LnL calculations slightly to match the numbers I got in my simulation tests and posted here. Basically at the highest talent point investment they're still pretty close to 12%, but it scales differently depending on your investment in LnL and Resourcefulness talents since it's working off an effective rate and not a pure proc rate.
Bamino, I checked and for me I'm not getting higher dps from firing BA before explosive. I'm not sure if this is because of the bug fixes I mentioned above or because your setup is different than mine. Depending on talents, buffs, etc, it's very possible that the order of firing that generates the highest dps could vary slightly, although since the rotation test is an imperfect representation of a real fight I wouldn't necessarily take that as gospel unless the gap is pretty large. The whole LnL change has made all the numbers a bit questionable for now anyhow so I don't plan to change the common shot rotation till it's all settled. People can always rearrange the shots to their liking.
Ok, tried it again.
TSA seems not to be calculated.
Goschti - EU - Azshara
Helm input manually: t8.5 - Arcanum of Torment - 21agi/3%critdmg- 20 Agi
Main hand input manually: Wraith spear - 85 ap
with tsa on and off no difference in dps wether with simulation test or not.
Goschti, I tested your saved setting and TSA was definitely affecting your dps. I got 3296.28dps for you with your settings and 3116.99 dps when I disabled TSA. Were you remembering to click the "Update DPS" button after making your changes? I installed Chrome and tested under that and got the same results so I don't think it's a browser issue.
I was a little confused by your report about the problem with the helm. Were you saying that you can't import it from Armory or that you can't select it? It was selecting fine. I tried to test the Armory import but it seems that EU Armory isn't working properly right now so I'll check that again later.
Update: EU Armory is working now and it has you wearing your fishing hat and fishing pole. I'm pretty sure that explains why it wasn't loading the helm and weapon but let me know if it's some other issue.
Silverardo, are you reporting a bug? As far as I know the ArPen calculations should be correct. I've fixed the few bugs relating to them that I've had reported to me. Note however that any proc based trinket is going to not be modeled perfectly since it averages the ArPen over the course of the fight, but it will cap the benefit from it based on what other ArPen you have on your gear. In regards to haste, all I can suggest is to look at the dps value it gives for haste, which for most specs seems to be pretty low. The marks thread is probably the place to go to get more detail specific to ArPen builds but I've heard nothing about haste being a recommended stat to stack for them.
