Worth noting that in combat regeneration is a flat 5% of your base mana pool per five seconds on the character sheet. This is not modified by gear, spec, or buffs as far as I can observe.

I am getting the following Spellpower coefficients, untalented and tested wearing only gear that has a flat increase to Spellpower, Intellect, Crit or haste. (No Set bonuses etc) The numbers are derived from Blizzard Tooltips and Paper doll stats at different amounts of gear

Frostbolt	0.8572	3.000/3.5
Fireball	1.1243	3.935/3.5
Scorch . .	0.5382	1.884/3.5
Frostfire bolt	0.9768	3.419/3.5
Arcane Blast	1.0573	3.700/3.5
Icelance	0.3774	1.321/3.5
The only one that makes any kind of sense to me is Frostbolt. Are Blizzard now fine tuning using SP coefficient?

As of last night, 18 Oct, Frost Specialisation only gave 15% damage increase, not 25% as stated in the Talent Summary.

They've tossed the idea of standardized coefficients out the window for Cataclysm. And or are using a standardization process that we haven't divined yet.

Well reforging the engineering helm wouldn't matter because you can basically reforge by choosing a different cogwheel. Sure you wouldn't be able to have 3 stats but you could have a massive chunk of whatever stat you are reforging just from that helm.

  • Beast Slaying : +5% Damage versus Beast

For the Orc with a water elemental between 10% and 15% of the total DPS, Command will be between +0.5% and +0.75% of the global damage.

Spirit affects nothing in combat for mages, so human is also 'none'. (although EMFH and WotF are both non-dps raid advantageous racials when compared with, say, treasure finding, or "increased alchemy skill")

Ok, I have made all change and add the cooldowns of Rocket Barrage.


I think that all racial talent are about ~1% dps, maybe more (depend on spec).

This may be the incorrect place, since its not technically a purely mage resource, but a resource for all raid leaders. Ive been working on a spreadsheet of buffs/debuffs for raid building, including the buffs that can be replaced by hunter pets if needed. There's a link in my sig if anyone is interested.

In the interest of Max/Min:

Arcane Engineers can cast Mage Ward (before the pull or with a spare GCD during movement), then use a Sapper Charge, proccing Incanter's Absorption for ~+250SP for 15 seconds.

The Sapper Charge works neatly with your AP/Berserking/Mirror Image/Haste Pot macro.

Just a quick fix. You should change the meta socket information to reflect the new changes to the gem requirements for the Chaotic Shadowspirit Diamond and the Chaotic Skyflare Diamond. Yes, even the Wotlk version now requires more blues then reds, at least that's what Wowhead displays.

I just checked on both Live and Wowhead and both of them are telling me that the Chaotic Skyflare Diamond still only requires 2 blue gems.

Chaotic Skyflare and even Chaotic Skyfire diamonds now have the 'Requires more Blue gems than Blue gems' requirement.

On a side note, when you check wowhead, make sure you check cata.wowhead.com.

The "Water Elemental scaling" table needs a minor update. The WE now crits for 200% damage. Given the new Meta-requirements, you might need to include a selection of Green gems into the Gem Matrix. Getting the new meta to activate can require a little more juggling.

Also for the sake of completeness, the ilvl loot table could be updated with some extra lines:

- ilvl 359 (Raids)
- ilvl 372 (Heroics Raids)
- ilvl 379 (Sinestra)
