On Al'akir encounter, you can use invisibility to ignore wind burst. You can see it here aswell for anyone who cares YouTube - Slap vs Al'Akir 10M heroic. Just look at the piece from 1:20 to 1:30.

Interesting, did you have to pre-cast it to complete invis right as Wind Burst finished or can you do it at any point during cast?

I try to time the wind burst cast end and the invisibility effect start as close as possible to each other. This varies though, depending on if you are in a lightning AOE or a blizzard etc, as it won't work if the damage you take removes the buff. But if it's a safe spot it shouldn't matter what time you pop invisibility, you might lose some DPS time because of it though. Just make sure you have it on when wind burst cast ends.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I can only assume that the 2 seconds "fading" part does not ignore wind burst. You need the "invisible" buff actually on you in order for it to work.

I can confirm the Invis + Wind Blast trick. I'm currently working on Heroic Alakir 10m, and I am one of the two "sharers" amongst the 8 sectors. Thanks to Blink, Rocket Jump, and Invis (and even the odd Engineering Nitro Boost), I stay alive more reliably than people on their own dedicated sector.

However, do your raid a favor and save Ice Block for p2 stack reset.

Not exactly a trick, but some useful knowledge: the Twilight Orbs on Sinestra are somewhat based on threat, meaning if you have Mirror Images up when they spawn and target you, they won't follow you until mirrors fade. This is obviously a bad thing, so don't have mirrors up when the orbs will spawn. As an upside, as long as you aren't in melee range, you cannot pull agro on Sinestra.

On heroic ODS when you get shadow conductor (lightning conductor ticks twice and then turns shadow dealing massive AoE to targets away from you) if you invis you can remove the shadow portion thus only leaving the lightning conductor, so make sure you still stay away from people.

Cant find a definitive answer to this:

In Atramedes if you get to 100% sound and you IceBlock waiting for a gong to be hit, what will atramedes do?
Will he target you and instant kill you even with IB?
Will he target you and than change target again?
Or will he target you and stay on you untill IB ends or a gong is hit?

When you reach 100% sound on Atramedes, he starts spitting fire at you. He does not target you. If you iceblock, he will continue spitting fire at you, which will do no damage while iceblock is up.

To be precise, he spits only a limited amount of fire (survivable for everyone with a strong mitigation cooldown or immunity effect). If you iceblock the full duration of this spitting, you have a few seconds (about 15, but don't nail me on that) before he spits again.

From my experience the fire spits do damage through immunity effects.

Couple tricks for the sinestra encounter:

1. if your arcane, don't forget to switch to molten armor when you have EotR since you don't need the mana regen of mage armor.
2. Throughout the fight you can use mage ward before her flame breath to take advantage of IA. When you have EotR also use mana shield for further benefit from IA. You may want to reforge your gear to knock off as much haste as possible when learning this encounter, since EotR will put your AB casts at sub 1s.

Considering the fight mechanics, I'd reforge all I could to mastery, since EotR restores 5% of your mana per second and you'll be getting 100% of your mastery bonus for three minutes.

Not exactly raid related but since a lot of people might be trying to do timed runs in heroic ZA again it might be of general interest.

1. On Hallazi (Lynx Boss) you can nearly spam AB all the time while standing in the green area made by the Boss' water totems. Just have the tank pull the boss out of it.
2. If you spellsteal the tectonic plating buff off the trash mobs (Zandalari Juggernauts) and then go and melee you can do some insane bomb damage. The buff also lasts about 2 minutes so is usable between the 1st and 2nd as well as between the 3rd and 4th boss. Word of caution: I have yet to find a tank to match that threat, but you may be more lucky.
3. Amani'shi Flame Casters have a stealable buff increasing runspeed by 200% and casting speed by 300%. This is a short-term buff but also helps increasing dps (this mainly will profit fire spec due to less issues with GCD cap)

I accidently found out on tuesday, that you can get yourself "healed" with the "Spirit Link"-totem on Cho'Gall, even if you are converted to an "elephant". So if your raid is unable to provide you with enough cooldowns to survive long enough, this might help you.

On H-Chimeron you should never miss due to the hit rating debuff. As soon as you get the debuff, cancel your cast and start a new fireball. It should finish just as the debuff wears off. This accounts for a noticable dps increase.
