I am having trouble figuring out how to get stat equivalents from RAWR, I just recently specced arcane and I want to know what I should be gemming for. Obv spell power is always #1, but I'm more concerned with what I should be placing in yellow slots, int, haste, or crit.
For actual stat equivalencies, there's the 'Relative Stat Values' chart, however do keep in mind that stat equivalencies are not accurate, and should not be used when you can use Rawr instead. And even then, be sure to update your relative stat values every time your gear/buffs/etc changes, in order have even a semblance of accuracy.
Not a mage specific issue, but the jewelcrafting trinket Figurine - Twilight Serpent still has a 5 minute cooldown on its use effect in rawr 2.1.9, though 3.0.8 changed it to a 2 minute cooldown. Updating the item cache doesn't fix this automatically.
Specific to mages: as evidenced in this thread, it appears that if an AB cast procs clearcasting, and abarr is spammed at the end of the AB cast time, due to some sort of delay in the recognition of clearcasting/arcane potency it doesn't get applied to or consumbed by abarr, but instead for the next cast. Is this behaviour recognised by rawr.mage? I haven't tested in a wide variety of conditions, so I'm unsure if latency or other factors have much bearing, but I was able to reproduce the behaviour fairly reliably on a test dummy.
Quick question, is there anyone here that is familiar enough with tools like Rawr and SimulationCraft. I m just trying to understand why for the same build and rotation the numbers are so completely different on a per stat basis.
Some just looking at them feel wrong, I'm just trying to make sense of it: For example
SimulationCraft for 3.0.9 has for FFB (0/53/18)
haste = 1.29 dps
crit = 1.23 dps
spell dam = 1.49
( haste > crit for FFB seems just wrong )
For the same build and same gear level Rawr has:
haste = 1.15 dps
crit = 1.20 dps
spell dam = 1.40
I tend to follow Rawr, i m just wondering why using the same gear there is a 13% difference on the value of haste. Doesn't simulationCraft model meta gems or something ? Just wondering if someone knows of the differencies of simulation between to 2.
You're looking at the wrong Talent Specs chart. Rawr.Mage has two different Talent Specs charts. Search earlier in this thread for an explanation of why, but suffice it to say that the first one is bugged and shouldn't be used; use the 2nd one, it's the right one.
Having a couple of new issues with 2.1.9 that I havent had before. When redefining my gems, it no longer appears to be working. I am still getting returns with epic gems, and now also with JC gems, neither of which i have access too.
If what you mean is add a copy of description from that thread in the message box I can do that. If you're looking for description of each individual cycle that's not likely to happen. Most users shouldn't need to use that button, hence why it's on the advanced tab.
