This makes them appear in the comparison chart. But if you right-click a item there and select "Add Custom Gemming" you can't select JC gems. New Bug in 2.2.1?

Well, that's exactly what I did, but you cannot put JC gems into yellow sockets by this.

Check to make sure Jewelcrafting is selected on the filters dropdown in the right pane on the main window. I know I had to do that, at least.

i am also having gem problems with rawr. i cant get JCing gems to show up unless i have them on the items from armory already, ive tried checking every gem possible and allowing 99 gems to be show or whatever the bottom number is, and they just dont show up...only the level 70 Jcing ones do (23 spellpower).
Also, it seems as if it is raiting crit too high for arcane... not sure about this.

Tools -> Edit Item Filters... -> Jewelcrafting -> unmark "Applies to Gems"
I'm not sure if it's supposed to work this way, but if you deactivate this checkbox the BoP JC gems show up again in the comparison chart, and you can select them for custom gemmings again.
I think it would be cool if there were 2 pull-down menus were you select your professions, and Rawr handled all relevant settings automatically (like choosing mixology for Alchemy, enabling JC gems for JC and so on).

The gemming template settings seem to be universal amongst character files. If I have one character with jewelcrafting and another character without jewelcrafting, I seem to not be able to set this for each character. Instead, both either have to have prismatic JC gems enabled, or both have them disabled. At least, that's how it seems to be being handled between my character files, which gets needlessly complicated when I'm switching between files and running optimize.
Now, I'm not sure if the workaround for this is to uncheck Runed Dragon's Eye (and other JC gems) in the comparisons chart. That should alleviate some of the problem, since that is stored separately for each character file. But I seem to get mixed results. I still really like the gemming template though. Aside from the above problems, it works very well, and the auto-populate feature is quite slick.

EExx/Saphya, no, you really don't need to edit the filters to show your JC gems, just enable the Jewelcrafting filter. It's on the main screen, in the top right.
We don't want professions to be hard coded on the character, because then it would be awkward to compare profession benefits.
Enthorn, enabled/disabled state of gemming templates should be character-specific, I think... I'll look into that, maybe it got broken at some point.

(apologies in advance if this is answered elsewhere, I was unable to find it)
I'm trying to figure out what's better for me to drink in a fight: Potion of Speed or Potion of Wild Magic. So, I check one and look at "Dps: " in the lower left corner. The number does not change whether speed or wild magic are checked or unchecked. Things do, however, change if I check or uncheck Mana Potion. (I of course make sure only one of the three are checked when I'm doing the comparison).
Am I doing something wrong?

Lerxst, first enable Sequence Reconstruction. Next, hover over sequence reconstruction and you'll see that a mana potion is being used instead of Potion of Speed or Potion of Wild Magic. If you disable the use of Mana Potions, it may tell you that you'll run out of mana. This tends to occur due to insufficient raid buffs feeding you mana (Judgement of Wisdom, Blessing of Wisdom, Judgements of the Wise, Mana Tides, etc.)

Thanks, Enthorn. I've highlighted in bold the part of my post that I think you misread:

In other words, mana potion was disabled in my original testing, and is not the source of my problem. I did, however, find out what was actually wrong: checking/unchecking of Power Infusion, Potion of Wild Magic and Potion of Speed fail to cause Rawr to update the "Dps: " text in the lower left corner of the program. In order to see the changes made by checking/unchecking those options, you need to change tabs. This forces the DPS to update and it is indeed different.
My guess is that this is some sort of Rawr.Mage bug, as every other checkbox on that screen works as expected (automatically refreshes DPS numbers on the bottom of the screen without having to change tabs)

My apologies if any of this has been brought up before but any insight/comments or thoughts would be appreciated
I purchased one of the 23SP stormjewel gems, and rawr wants to place it in every gem slot on all gear if I enable it under the gem list, can I remedy this?
And another gem problem maybe, although I suppose it could be correct
Anywho as arcane rawr asks me to put 9sp/8 haste gems in all yellow and red gem slots, as ffb/fire it changes to 9sp/8crit gems(And as a jewelcrafter it also winds up putting dragons eye gems in red slots half the time as a result)
Should I be accepting this as superior to having straight spellpower in red slots, I realize the cumulative effect could mean its worth it but seems to not make sense really

I never even thought about that. I don't pay much attention to the Score/DPS listed on the bottom. I forgot it was even added there.
One thing to note is that you can enable both Potion of Wild Magic and Potion of Speed. Sequence Reconstruction will tell you which one is used and won't try to use both, just like having Glyph of Frostfire and Glyph of Fireball doesn't mess anything up, as only one can apply. (Hilariously, I once had the spell breakdown listing damage of like 40% fireball, 20% frostfire bolt. It was using both spells, for whatever reason.)
Power Infusion I would reckon is pretty safe as well, unless you're running Frostfire. I'm not sure how Rawr handles Power Infusion in conjunction with Icy Veins (since they don't stack). I don't think Power Infusion and Potion of Speed would stack for Fireball either. I know that Potion of Speed and Bloodlust stack, and furthermore, they stack with a trinket like Embrace of the Spider.

I might be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure the only haste buffs that don't stack is (Improved Moonkin Form + Swift Retribution) and (Blood Lust + Power Infusion). Icy Veins stack with everything, since it's a self only buff.
Edit: There was some discussion about this in the arcane thread a while ago, check Manly's post here: The Arcane thread

Whether or not they stack is kind of besides my point. I mentioned infusion because it suffers the same display bug as pot of speed and pot of magic.

I found that switching "tabs" does update some of the fight options, whereas just clicking them does not.
Not sure if it is a bug, but people should be aware.

is rawr's modeling of 4pc t8 pretty accurate atm? It seems to want me to use 2pc t7 and 3pc t8 no matter what I try, that always comes ahead.
