Next question (I think this is the same thing cbags was asking about earlier, I'll try to be more clear). This may be a misunderstanding of how to interpret some rawr output, if so, clarifications would be appreciated.
So, i start by checking the rank on the meta choice I have.
Looking good, 16K calculated dps. I'm happy.
Now I look at the ranking for some other gems I have like the Piercing Dream Emerald in my gloves I need to keep my meta alive.
I'm surprised to find that Rawr is telling me to use pure red gems in this glove socket, as I know it will break my meta. So I equip the Brilliant Inferno Ruby.
Bam, calculated dps drops to 15.6 k. That seems right, but it seems counter-intuitive that Rawr would direct me to choose this gem choice when it "knows" it will drop my dps. So I check a few things. The default setting to enforce gem requirements is enabled. I start swapping to red int gems in all the sockets until my hit drops to about 1666 at which point it starts directing me to pick blue hit gems. At no point when I'm fiddling around with the gem choices do I come out with a calculated dps higher than what i started with, so I don't think the program is trying to move me out of some local maximum to a higher one farther out. Am I misinterpreting what the gem choice rankings are really telling me here?
Anyway, I ran the optimizer and it did squeeze out a couple more dps with a meta gem change, but rawr is still telling me to pick the meta that won't activate with the new gem choices. Weird.
