You can configure Grid to show various range checks, 10yds up to 100yds. I only have 40 yds active to see if I'm in range of a healer/dispeller or if a person I'm supposed to decurse is in range of me. Didn't bother to test if decursive can do these things too because I need a well configured grid for my paladin anyway.

Addons: Bartender4, BigWigs, ButtonFacade_Desik, EavesDrop, Grid, kgPanels, Mapster, MikScrollingBattleText, Omen, OmniCC, OPie, Pitbull4, Prat, pMinimap, PowerAuras, Quartz, SatrinaBuffFrames, Scorchio, Recount, TipTac, Tekticles, ForteXorcist, Lynstats/location and ZuxanaModelCitizen.

You can see my UI in action here: YouTube - Nightmares Asylum vs Hodir Hard Mode

- I made the health bars transparent so instead of showing full color at the start they show as transparent bars, think it this way and everything makes sense ( Its easier to see those fires too )

- I use Power Auras for Hot streak, Fingers of Frost and Missile Barrage procs.

The raid frames show only the name, color of the class, HP and mana with some space between groups so i can check raid status easily. I moved all needed information around my character so i don't have to move my eyes all around the screen.
Hot Streak procs are showed with GhostPulse and Elkbuffsbars for the timer along some others buffs worth showing like IV, IB, manashield... Targets debuff applied by me are monitored with Quartz and TTW debuffs are located next to Magictargets list.
My focus and focus's target are usually hidden unless i'm on sheep duty.

I have a question possibly related to X-Perl.

A friend of mine, who is a new mage, asked me yesterday if we would want to refresh Living Bomb before it ends. I told him that it's impossible to do, but even if it were possible, one wouldn't want to. We then argued for a while as he tried to assure me that it is indeed possible. He even sent me video proof of him doing it. (Sure enough, it was refreshing.) Another mage in the guild confirmed that he, too, could refresh Living Bomb early. I went home to test on a dummy, and I got the usual "a more powerful spell is already active" error.

My guess is something is buggy about his unit frames addon. I don't use anything but the default for my targets' health and debuffs. I've searched Google high and low, but could not find anything about a buggy addon refreshing Living Bomb. Anyone know anything about this? I'm pretty sure he uses X-Perl.

Not really buggy, just think of it as lag. I can time my refresh of my LB RIGHT when the explosion from the first LB goes off. It is all about timing the refresh. But it is not possible to cast a new LB prior to the explosion unless they switch targets and put LB on the new target.

Oh, no, I can do that, too. My friend, however, appears to actually be able to refresh it at ANY moment. He sent me a quick video of him spamming Living Bomb on a single target, and his UI was showing the debuff to be actually refreshing, the remaining duration showing up on his screen as "11, 10, [refresh] 11, 10, [refresh] 11, 10, . . ." It was visually behaving the way any spammable dot would.

I hope you realize the implications of the possibility of a mod that could cancel casts.

It just cant be the case. It has to be at the game level. Its probably something weird like a non-max-ranked cast or something.

Phrygian, just curious what mod and how you did the diablo type health and mana bars at the bottom.

Maybe this video could be posted somewhere? That might help people identify whats going on. Target switching could explain it as well, switching from one target dummy to another and clicking Living Bomb, would give the impression of it refreshing, but in truth the spell is working as intended, only on one target at a time.

I'm pretty sure (partially because it is listed in his addon list) that he used Pitbull4 to do that. There are multiple ways he could have done it. The Health and Mana bars could actually be separate frames that just happened to be assigned the same unit. Or he could have a very large unit frame with a very large blank space in the middle. Either way, vertical health/mana bars is an easy option to enable for that aspect. I am pretty sure it is one large unit frame with a blank space in the middle since there is combat text (incoming damage number) in the middle of the "large unit frame."
It isn't a bad setup at all, for people who like it. Although I would think having health numbers (and even mana numbers) would be nice, rather than just percent.

Manly, you're a genius. I knew the mod being the issue was unlikely, but I simply couldn't think of any other reason, so I posted in this thread to see if anyone else with a similar unit frame addon was having the issue. I didn't even consider the rank. Sure enough, as I was double-checking the video before I uploaded it to make sure I didn't miss anything, I noticed his log from his having just switched specs:

You have learned a new spell: Pyroblast (Rank 6)
You have learned a new spell: Pyroblast (Rank 7)
You have learned a new spell: Pyroblast (Rank 8)
You have learned a new spell: Pyroblast (Rank 9)
You have learned a new spell: Pyroblast (Rank 10)
You have learned a new spell: Living Bomb (Rank 1)
You have learned a new spell: Focus Magic

So, hmm, does this mean non-max ranks of Living Bomb can be refreshed? Interesting. If I were home, I would test this. I wish now that I had posted this in the Simple Questions or Frostfire thread.

Anyway, here is the video: (Mac users: I had to upgrade to the latest version of VLC to play this.)

Correct, it is simply a very large Unit frame in Pitbull, with the health and mana set vertical, with a large blank space in between the 2 of them. You could have the Health/Mana text displayed in whatever way works best for you.

If you're looking for diablo health and mana bars, rBottomBarStyler has a few variations to choose from(diablo 1, 2, 3).

Ranks 1 and 2 can yes, Rank 3 cannot. It just refreshes the timer, however the effect check is still in place, for example you cannot refresh with a Rank 1 if a Rank 2 is present and so on. This proves that it is a game mechanic rather than a coding issue with an addon.

The Mage theme song.
From the moment that the trading ship, Avalonia, slipped its orbital berth above the planet Lave, and began to manoeuvre for the hyperspace jump point, its measureable life-span, and that of one of its two-man crew, was exactly eighteen minutes.
