Not that it'll make much of a difference, but a better use of this macro would be as follows:

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:alt] Fireball; Frost Bolt

This way every time you hold Alt, it'll also show the tooltip for Fireball, and when using your Alt modifier, it won't give you the text warning saying "Another action is in process", as with your current macro, using the Alt modifier would attempt to use Fireball aswell as Frost Bolt.

Minor technicalities

Although that would work, a macro could still solve his issue.

#showtooltip
/cast [button:1] Frost Bolt; Fireball

Using your standard mousebutton would launch a Frost Bolt, while any other mousebutton would launch a Fireball.

I have been thinking of really stripping my UI down, having only the map, buffs and Lunarsphere visible during normal play, and include Recount and Omen during raidplay, along with Grid. I can make grid do both decursing and buffing, am I correct?

Just drop the gryphons, actionbars, menubuttons, the works.

Would you guys say there is a definite drawback in dropping out a lot of the UI to seee more of what is going on, especially as a mage, or just clutter up the entire screen with various things?

Actually I drop my minimap, Recount and buffs in combat, with all necessary procs shown in ForteXorcist. Grid's great for decursing. Dropping actionbars is fine but you'll need some way to track your spell CDs. I use Dominos, hiding everything but one bar with my most important spells that have CDs: Fire Blast, Mirror Images etc.

The fewer distractions the better--you can also use addons like Addon Control Panel to disable things like Auctioneer, Gearscore and Gladius for raids.

For monitoring all sorts of CD's, check out Coolline.

Highly configurable, and would remove the need for any buttons.

I'm currently looking to tune my UI for the best Raiding performance possible and atm my UI looks like this:

Addons:

ag_unitframes
Alpha Map (not shown)
Bagnon (not shown)
Decursive
Omen
OmniCC
Power Auras Classic
Quartz
Recount
Satrina Buff Frames
Scorchio
Scrolling Combat Text
Sexy Map
Deadly Boss Mods

I toke this SS 11/11 right after a clean install of WoW, so not everything was in right place cause I was in a hurry to get in raid at time. Healing frame from SCT is not on the right position usually stays at the left of my character. Also DBM "huge" bar and the "Missile Barrage" text you see there are below the Power Auras texture. But overall is almost final. And should I replace OmniCC for Cooline? Thanks
I know you posted this nearly a year ago, but I'm hoping you're still around and will recall which add-on you used to get the in-button timers I see there?

That is OmniCC, if I recall correctly.

Anyone know the mod that puts your CDs on a DDR like/style bar?

I don't know about an individual addon, but ForteXorcist has a built in CD bar

Some of us made Scorchio2 work in 4.0 / Cata. (edit: I have Maintainer status on the project now, so there'll be real release versions pushed to Curse, not just alphas on WowAce. And it will continue to be maintained and improved.)

Please let me know (in PM) if there are any other important mage addons that are broken by 4.0.

Release version of my Combustion addon is up on Curseforge and Wow Interface.

This addon is meant to allow easy optimizing of Combustion talent in 4.0.1 and above by tracking the duration of all relevant fire dots. There is an automatic detection of the Combustion spell in your spellbook and glyphed FrostFire bolt.

You can PM me with suggestions and remarks.

Here's my contribution for 4.0.1. It's an addon that I wrote while leveling as Frost on Beta because I found that I kept glancing at my buffs to see how many stacks of FoF I had despite the new Spell Alerts feature that was added. This is just an extension to the Blizzard system in place to allow you to see when you have more than one stack up. It also tints any alert red when it has less than 5 seconds remaining on the buff. I haven't tested it very extensively, and there is zero configuration right now, but it was something I threw together quickly before the patch was released.

I just want to say I love you new combustion addon angayelle. Anyways, does anyone have a good replacement for scorchio until it gets fixed for live? I've tried classtimers and some other dot tracker from curse but both suck!!
