What is the "3% ghost hit"? Does that mean that paladins are seeing the in-game numbers support the idea that they have 3% extra hit that is just magically there for no discernible reason?

Neverest, that is completely false. Master Poisoner is 3% crit, non-stacking with heart of the crusader.
As far as the hit question, been raiding and running heroics non-stop for a over a week now with 173 hit rating, never missing physical attacks. Dodge rates are correct for my level of expertise.
Faliel, yes that is exactly the situation at the moment.

Well, the newest (2.1.1) is using level 70 ratings, so I would not call it reliable.
Your best bet now is to use static weights from the spreadsheet (using your stats) and then put them into Wowhead.

Just a quick question about professions. I am currently Blacksmith and Engineering, however I am going to drop Engineering because there is really no good items that can be made for a boost to dps.
What I would like to know is if it is possible to add the leatherworking AP to gloves if you have already added a socket to gloves from Blacksmithing. I am thinking leatherworking would be next in line for the biggest dps boost for melee, but I didnt want to level myself up all the way to find out I couldnt add the AP to gloves if I had already altered them from the Blacksmithing abilities.

Quick question regarding Sword and Mace spec (Humans) and Retribution:
Both of these now give 3 expertise, but how much expertise rating is that at level 80? The big rating thread only gives the value for -1% dodge/parry. It's quite important to know how to value an axe versus a sword.

Three expertise would translate in to 24.30 (3 x 8.10) expertise rating, that is -0.75% to dodge/parry.

[Bold Dragon's Eye]x3 would give you 33 strength over [Bold Scarlet Ruby]x3, which is 82.5 AP.
Fur Lining - Attack Power (114 AP to bracer for LW) would give you 59 AP over [Item not found!].
Once you have epic gems in all your gear, though, the JC bonus drops, but then again by that time there might be new things added to JC to compensate.

Has anyone had any luck finding a mod that tracks the timer on sacred shield?

I was just looking for that myself, and came across SpellReminder. Some people say it's good, and I'll be trying it out sometime tomorrow.

Hi, I have a question with regards to itemisation choice for a protection paladin. I haven't been able to locate any solid theorycrafting with regards to diminishing returns for dodge/parry, and seeing as our guild will start 25 man raids in the next few days (we cleared the 10-mans last week), I would like a second or perhaps a third opinion on gear/gem selection. I noticed that plate tanking items either have avoidance (i.e. dodge + parry) or mitigation (block rating + block value), and some defence thrown in there. At which point does stacking avoidance begins to suffer diminishing returns badly enough to switch to another stat? And is gemming all +stam as per paladin's tradition still the way to go? (Of course assumin crit-immune)
Cheers in advance for some thoughtful answers.

Hit - Recount vs WWS etc
Hey,
I don't know if our "ghost" 3% hit is still there, but I'm wondering if I'm incorrectly trusting Recount when it says I didn't miss but reports like WWS show me missing. I should be missing some hits at 219 rating.
Does anyone know another good damage meter/logger other than Recount?

WWS will include parries/dodges as misses, make sure you're drilling down into miss/dodge/parry columns if you want to make sure that you're analysing the data right. This isn't really paladin-specific so if that doesn't help I'd suggest posting on the UI forums.

You're right, I hadn't drilled down into it, and they are all dodge/parry. In fact looking at my overall data I never missed once with 219 rating. Only thing I can think of that would cover that is Misery from shadow priests, but it sounds like it would only affect spells (although that might be the old tooltip since +hit is same for everyone now).
Misery and Draenei aura is 4% hit if I'm not mistaken, that might explain a lot if its right!

You can only use one [Bold Dragon's Eye] because it is unique.

Oops. I didn't see that change. Thanks for pointing that out. JCing just got a lot more appealing.

For the Prot Pally, how much defense do you need to be at for the lvl 80 content (i.e heroics and beyond).

For a Ret Pally mostly soloing through WotLK content [lvl 72]
What is generally the best seal?
What are the best glyphs for doing so?

For leveling I used SoC with the SoC glyph and Judgement glyph, and used JoW except when I had to solo hard hitting elites, and then switched to JoL. That would be my suggestion, but to each their own.

No, the talents are specified to spell hit only. +hit is not the same for everyone now, +hit rating is the same.
However, while talking about spells hitting, I was wondering if Judgement still counted as a spell, in which case, does the value on hit that go down when you hit the melee cap or is it still very important?

Judgement is a ranged ability. (Check patch notes for 3.0).
It should be governed by ranged hit, which is the same % as your melee hit.
