Paladin: Simple Questions/Simple Answers

Welcome to the Paladin Simple Questions thread. This thread is for all your simple questions which you expect to have simple answers and thus do not require their own thread.

Note that all forum rules still apply: we said simple questions, not stupid questions (which have no place on these forums). You're still expected to make a reasonable effort to find the answer yourself by searching and reading the threads and making use of spreadsheets and any other tools that may be available. If, however, you're fairly confident that your question is not easily answered with available information, but don't think it will generate sufficient discussion to require it's own thread, this is the place to ask.

I'll start.

What is the proc chance per target of Seal of Justice causing a stun? I've been using it with divine storm for AOE type trash, but I'm thinking it is better suited to AOE PVP.

If it hasn't changed, SoJ should have 7.5 PPM.

A long time ago, there was a 5 pt talent that increased SoJ PPM by 5, then the tooltip was re-worded to say "increases %chance to proc by 67%". Since the talent had the same effect, then base PPM was 5 / 67% = 7.5.

For comparison, SoC has 7 PPM, and SoJ seems to have roughly the same proc rate in my experience.

What is the Hit cap (Level 80) for paladins...

Edit: read first Moron....

Just checked the Ret Theorycraft thread... Unless this is no longer the case...

You need to aim for 9% hit (Talents + gear combined) for theoretical hit cap.

what are the best professions for pvp holy paladins?...
and also pve holy paladins?

Leatherworking + Jewelcraft for both, until such time as the datamined epic gems are discovered. Then blacksmithing possibly beats out jewelcraft.

I wonder which are the best Glyphs for Prot Pally aiming for being MainTank

Glyph of Holy Light

Since the release, the glyph of Holy Light seems bugged for me. When i checked in Ahn'kahet yesterday, the proc was healing only one person (even if we were 5 at range) wich was a warlock Felguard pet.
Has anyone experienced the same thing ?

Simple Question: Why was the Ret theorycraft thread locked? Is anybody planning a new one?

Read this
Elitist Jerks - Announcements in Forum : Public Discussion

Every thread that was moved was locked. The idea is to disperse the Huge megathreads into lots of smaller more relevant threads within class forums. Ret hit cap questions now belong in a different thread to discussion about the value of haste vs armour pen.. etc...

Correct, the issue is a new player could have 100s of page to look through to find an answer to questions. so here you can post a new thread to discuss topics.

People likely wouldn't make serious topics until they start hitting 80 and need to worry about it.

Simple (probably stupid) question: fast or slow weapon for tanking now? Previously it seemed like the slowest, highest-end damage weapon was preferred for HotR, but the tooltip reads weapon dps. Is weapon speed largely inconsequential?

It really does not matter. If you're looking for tanking stats you'll probably end up with fast anyway. The biggest impact would be if you planned to use SealoR in which case slow would be slightly better for stronger procs from HotR.

It doesn't really matter:

* Seal of Vengeance's damage caps out once it reaches 5 stacks, making weapon speed (and haste) largely inconsequential.

* Threat is especially high right now, such that it usually doesn't pay to gear for threat, which means you'll almost always be using a 'tanking' weapon with mitigation stats, and those are always fast.

* If you ever find yourself needing to DPS as Prot, look for a slow weapon (within the ~2.60 range) to maximize Seal of Blood procs. I've found that it doesn't really pay to use a two-hander if you're going to lose Hammer of the Righteous (and later of Shield of Righteousness) anyway.

Hi, right now lvling my ret paladin and about gear selection. From the theorycraft post, seems Strength>ap>hit>crit>hast>armor penetration. Is there any more specific number for better comparison? Like Strength is 1, crit is 0.33, so I can use them to compare and select gears while lvling up?
