Now that the new version of clcret includes it's own version of ICD tracking do you think we should still use internalcooldowns. I found that it is now irrelevent.
Rhada is my current favorite between itself and Pawn, mainly owing from the fact that it seems to be receiving more frequent updates, and has a few scaling options I believe Pawn lacks. Rhada goes beyond just allowing you to insert your stat weights, and allows you to fill in how you prefer your gear to be socketed, the dps worth of set bonuses, etc., and can link in with other mods (WoWEquip) to give you a best-in-slot workup in-game.
n.b.: When using either Pawn or Rhadatip, you can copy your stat weights directly from Simulationcraft's reports now.
Pawn will by default automatically choose the best gems to fill in sockets for you, calculating whether you should match bonuses or not. Manual gem selection can also be done if you prefer. It is sadly lacking in evaluating set bonuses and procs, however. Rawr also allows you to export a Pawn string from your particular gear setup, which is pretty handy.
Note that I haven't used RhadaTip, so I'm not necessarily advocating Pawn over RhadaTip, just pointing out features that Noraj may have missed.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a mod that can place a melee and spell GCD countdown and a melee swing timer side by side (preferably two vertical bars)? Using 2P T10 on Deathbringer today I felt that I wasted a few possible DS GCDs on lower priority abilities because I started spamming Conc or Exo and a melee hit refreshed DS a split second before the GCD was finished.

I have a feeling that is bound to happen sometime, no matter how hard you try to avoid it.
But i believe quartz has both of then, but i'm not 100% sure.
edit: just checked and swing timer and GCD are both in quartz, i'm not sure if you can set it up vertical.

ACB Castbars provides options for melee and spell gcd bars as well as a nice swing timer bar. I am pretty sure you can customize them to be vertical vs. horizontal.
My question is about whether there is a mod that can be developed or modified that can give an alert when you get a DS proc. I currently use EventAlert for classes like a warlock or mage (Fingers of Frost procs), and it gives a little box with the spell icon somewhere on your screen. I am almost positive that you cant add in new procs, so I am trying to find a new mod that can give a small and clear indication when we get DS procs.
This is probably an incredibly stupid question and i apologize in advance but can someone explain something to me about tidy plates
1) is there any way to increase the size of the bars, i would have thought the scale does it but when i ramp it up to 200% the bars are the same size. Am i missing something extremly obvious?
2) What in the world it the point of the Alpha bars, i don't understand what they do and i have looked everywhere trying to understand.
3) Also for bosses like Morrogawr is there any way to get it to show the bar lower so you can see it with out having your camera angle at some crazy position?
Again it is probably very stupid and after the explaination i will feel sutibaly idiotic but it is driving me crazy.

I too am wondering if there's an addon created yet to alert you of DS proccing. I just got two set and it's pretty crazy how much it procs. The built in scroll text says when it procs so I'm sure an addon could be written to be a little more alerting than SCT. Does anyone know of a an addon that alerts for DS yet?
I'm still not quite as fluent with coding and such, but i am very sure most of those addons work off of buffs that the player gains for the alerts. Since there is no buff to be gained with the 2p, the only thing i can think of is it would just have to alert you every time DS came off of cooldown, or if there is a combat log event for it ((the ret 3.3 thread is saying something about <Player> casts Divine Storm+ or something like that)) then that would be the way to go i would think.

The exact combat log event is:
Playername casts Divine Storm!
Not to be confused with actually using the ability, which is
Playername casts Divine Storm <-- Note the lack of an exclamation mark.
What I don't understand is why so many of you seem to feel that adding another alert is necessary. CLCRET already updates your main action button to Divine Storm when it is the highest priority available and is usable. If you're already watching that, what use is another bit of visual clutter and cruft?
Regardless, TellMeWhen is a good mod for this sort of thing. Unless I'm very mistaken, it can be set to show a large icon wherever you desire on the screen whenever the abilities of your choosing are ready for use.

I made a trigger in MSBT to alert me whenever I cast Divine Storm!(with the exclamation mark for the spell and not when it comes off cooldown since that usually gave me a delay when DS would reset instantly with SOC). It does get a little spammy in that situation though
Add a new trigger and make a cast success event. In the event conditions there's two events and you should change them to these:
1. Source Unit Type - Is Equal To - Player
2. Skill ID - Is Equal To - 70769

While this is true, the big feature that sets RhadaTip apart is that it calculates the weights across your whole gear set, and will automatically stop weighting in hit/expertise once you hit the cap (without changing your weight string). This is huge when combined with the gear optimizer - it will usually come up with interesting combos of rings I have lying around that allow me to stay hit capped while incrementally improving my other gear. Some gear which is less than useful early because you lack hit suddenly increase in value once you gain other hit gear. Granted, once you are hitcapped this feature might lose its necessity, but for anyone gearing up in heroics/early raids it is great stuff.
That said, Pawn still has a place. Rhada doesn't make it easy to quickly tell if an item is good for your off-spec without actually re-speccing. Not exactly doable mid-instance. So I typically have pawn set up with weights appropriate for both specs so that regardless of which spec I'm in, I can roll on appropriate upgrades for the other spec when available.
I personally like Spartan because its a good base to build from. There's space on the left and right for Omen and Recount.
Although I have recently deleted the party folder from the mod and started using ShadowUnitFrames
Looking forward to seeing your UI all finished up and ready to go Zurm,
And thanks for a great thread and a good read it has given myself some brilliant ideas on changes i can make to my UI.
Not only from a usability point of view but mainly Memory usage
How are you guys dealing with the change that affected the seal+libram swap? Is there any other amcro that works or that at least doesnt make the libram become the cursor?? (THis is how it behaves now for me)
This was answered (by me) in the main ret thread here.
To reiterate, smart macro's are broken. You have to use some common sense now that the downy-proof macros don't work, and not push the libram swap button mid-gcd or you will screw yourself over. I honestly can't understand why anyone used them in the first place, given that they used up so many characters you couldn't use a clcret profile with them.

The important reason for the libram swap will also be removed in a few weeks time. Mooting the need for the 'smart' macro's.
Right now you want to use the valiance libram with SoV and the PVP libram with SoC. And except if the SoC duration is 'very short', you want libram swaps mid fight.
As soon as you have the necessary spare emblems to buy the new PVE libram, you will no longer want to swap mid fight at all.
Either you'll stick to SOV all through the fight with a choice of libram Valiance or the new emblem one.
Or if you will be using SOC (either all the fight or alternate between SOC and SOV), you will want to use the new emblem one.
The way the new emblem libram works, it is superior by far as soon as you start using SOC even for a short duration. For pure SOV usage, the valiance and new emblem libram are very close together, the stacking up time on the new libram will make it worse than valiance sometimes, but the overall higher buff and the fact you can carry the stacked buff with you when retargetting will make it better some other times. I doubt there will be fights where swapping libram mid fight will ever yield a benefit.
This means the libram itself is decided at the start of the fight, while you may want to swap a seal mid fight, there will no longer be any need to swap the libram mid fight. And the choice of libram isn't tied to the seal you start the fight with.
Key bindings, I have been clicking away since I started playing World of Warcraft, but recently i found the desire to start using the keyboard more. Does anyone have any suggestions with what keys to bind attacks to. Im not a fan of the numbers 1-9, i only use those for CDs, Pots, Bubble and such. If I was left handed I would use the number pad but sadly Im not left handed! Currently Im experimenting with:
Many of us started WoW as clickers with the exception of many first person shooter and previous mmo players. The easiest way to learn to not click is to bind all your keys and then run into battlegrounds, it will take time but when you get used to it your performance will greatly improve.
A lot of clickers are also keyboard turners, so changing your A and D keys to strafe instead of turn will also help.
If you arent using shit/ctrl/alt macros i recommend steering away from them until you feel more comfortable. Also you don't want to steer too far on your keyboard to push buttons.
@Neraya
There is a hidden benefit for using [Libram of Valiance] that some people may not notice. Even if you arent actively on a boss, such as being stunned on the wall for the Icehowl encounter for example, the dots from Seal of Corruption/Vengeance can refresh your 200 str proc and you have a decent chance of having more than the 15 seconds of buff time and not losing it for when you get back to the boss.
With the new libram, you will always lose the buff. There is no hidden refresh, so 15 seconds is the max time you have. It does perform exceptionally well on some encounters though, such as fast switches Putricide, or tank and spank Festergut.
I have been trying to improve my UI by using some of the addons mentioned here. I had grid running for my raid frames but when a guildie told me how to modify it to be more useful for healing (it is my second spec) I followed the directions here Healing Grid Tutorial - TankSpot
Now I cannot get the Internal Cooldowns addon to work. When I click on it from the addon menu in game I get a Lua error window that pops up. I uninstalled Internal Cooldowns, removed Grid and all related addons, and removed Clique. Then I reinstalled Internal Cooldowns and it still gives me the Lua error window.
I really like Internal Cooldowns so I want to find out how to get it working again. Also, I want to learn what I did to screw up my addons so I can avoid the same problem in the future. I use Curse Client to install and update my addons if that matters.
Is there a Mod out there that will alter/highten the sensitivity of my mouse wheel, similar to SnowfallKeyPress on buttons? There is a delay on the mouse roll - key bind. I would like to eliminate this.

Been playing around with MSBT for awhile now trying to get this macro to only tell me when I get the 2pT10 proc(as opposed to using these exact conditions that tell you when any ret in range gets the proc) but cannot seem to figure it out. Is there a condition that I need to add to filter out other ret's procs?
Has anyone found a minimap mod that cleanly displays the HP of the ships in the Gunship encounter? The only one I found that displayed it at all was Sexymap, and the bar is buggy and often has the HP bar shifted out of the frame.
