Obviously the chances of getting a killing blow SW: D as a healer are fairly small, but still.

Without A/A I found that I didn't have any real reason not to have this glyph. There just aren't enough good major glyphs out there. On Rag (I haven't tried heroic) I have been able to time SW:D to gain back mana. However, on normal the healing requirements are typically low when adds are out and I have spare time to attempt it a few times.
This glyph certainly does work, but it requires some practice not to mention spare cast time. It may also depend on your group.. it's not uncommon for our group to put less pressure on low health targets during Rag.
When I have the opportunity and downtime to try this, I tend to get 1 good shot per fight and depending on procs I can gain back 12-16k mana. I think it's rather fun but something that a person would rarely be in a position to afford the time and also be in a position where that mana had any real impact on the fight.

Quick question about shadow. The priority states that i should cast MB on cooldown, but if i get a mastery trinket proc and have mind blasted just before the proc expires to extend the increased empowered shadows effect, do i still MB on cd, or should i wait until empowered shadows is just about to fall off to keep the additional benefeit? (In my case, the mastery proc puts me from 32% to 42% increased shadow damage)

On my priest, I am presently at 27.30% haste, 12.15% crit, and 14.59 mastery. When I used SimC to determine if my stat weights have changed I was surprised to find that, despite the disparity between my haste and crit, it still valued haste a fair amount higher.

Question: My shadow priest doesn't raid normal 10/25-mans, but I can raid due to Raid Finder. Is it better to get the raid finder tokens for the raid finder T13 or the gear from valor points which has a higher ilvl (384 vs 397)?

Which one is better for shadow priest: 2pt12+2pt13 or 4pt13? Imo 4pt13 bonus is not as good as 2pt12, but im not sure.

Hey there,
i got a little question.
In SimC i want to create my "own" prority list, so like my own rotation.
I'm starting like this : prepot, vt, swp, dp, sf, berserking, mfx2, arch, mb, mf ...
But i dont even know how to make it.
Thanks in advice.

I was wondering if I could get a few opinions about my gear. I am wondering if dropping 4pc T12 to get 2pc T13 would be an overall upgrade. T12 4pc is consistently 6-7% of my overall healing, and I can't seem to find a way to accurately measure the benefit that the increased stats of the upgraded gear would give me.
Mana is never an issue for me, so the 2pc T13 is irrelevant to me (though it will help regardless).
Here is the stat differences if I switch to 2pc T13 and drop 4pc T12.
+128 int
+2.62% haste
+.80% crit
-135 spirit
-1.28% mastery
The pieces I am switching are:
T12 Helm (378) >> T13 Helm (384)
T12 Gloves (378) >> Gloves of Liquid Smoke (390)

Haste or Mastery again
I've been trying to find a good balance between haste and mastery reforging for hard modes in DS. I was running with haste reforged spec but I find myself using very few spells that benefit from haste. (i.e renew which I don't use all the time, PoH, hymn of hope and divine hymn). I understand flash heal and greater heal also benefit from haste but they are normally on the bottom of my heals list. My concern really is CoH, holy word serenity, bubble and PoM. I raid on 10 mans, so I'm considering ignoring the 12.5% haste soft cap and just reforge mastery. What is the best combination?
Can anyone already downing hardmodes comment? Thank you.

What? ALL of your spells benefit from Haste.
Haste lowers the GCD on CoH, PW:S and PoM. It also increases the ticks of Lightwell. And considering the cd on PoM and CoH, you still spend the majority of your time not casting those spells.
Now, as to if Haste is better than Mastery, that's another topic. Clarifying however Haste affects all your spells.

While I'm not currently doing hard modes as of today, they certainly are on the agenda in the near future, so I would like to think I might be able to help you with your concerns.
For holy, I choose to look at Haste like this: We have two immediate breakpoints, with regards to receiving extra ticks from various spells. The first one is at 12.50% and the next one is at 37.50%. I would argue the second breakpoint is next to impossible to hit, unless you go out of your way to get that much Haste - or you get your hands on various items that can give you a sizable Haste proc (like Seal of the Seven Signs or Ti'tahk). If you have already hit the first one and you're nowhere near the second one, I would at least make sure to get enough Haste to lower your PoH, Heal, and Greater Heal down to 2s (fully buffed). Once you're at that point, if you know the 37.50% is still out of reach, I would then start to gear for Mastery.
Think of it like what's attainable and what isn't. If you don't have enough Haste to squeeze out those two extra ticks and your spells are already at the 2s mark, I don't see what the additional Haste would really do for you.
Good luck!

Haste vs. Mastery
It should be noted that Holy Word: Sanctuary does not receive as much benefit from Haste as it does from Mastery. Echo of Light will proc from each tick while haste will only slightly reduce the GCD of the spell.

Without points in Darkness, and assuming you will be raid buffed 5% haste, how much haste would then be needed to get down to the 2sec cast time??

2.5s down to 2s means 25% effective haste. (2.5/1.25=2)
Provided you bring 5% from raid buff, this require 19% self haste (1.19*1.05=1.25)
19% haste is 2438 haste score (19*128=2438)

Hello everyone. I play as Disc MS, shadow offspec, but I don't have shadow gear set yet so I utilize my healing set for now. I've been trying to decide between reforiging my extra spirit (wich converts to about 9% extra hit rating) into haste/mastery in order to increase my dps output, but I'm worried I will be left with too little regen for healing (which is my main spec).
I feel comfortable atm with 3083 + Jaws of defeat unbuffed. If I do reforge to remove the extra hit rating cause by spirit when I go shadow, then my spirit would go down to 2200ish + jaws of defeat unbuffed.
I was wondering, as Discipline, what is a good minimum average spirit rating to have, counting trinket procs, buffs, etc for hard mode DS (which we are starting this week).

The correct answer is to reforge everytime you change roles in the raid, as opposed to gimping both your specs by trying to find some half/half setup. Or just reforge to whatever set you play most, and tell your RL your offspec will not be optimal.

but still if you need 3k+ spirit with jaws as disc you're doing something terribly wrong. Maybe wrong spell selection according to the situation but will most probably be missing several rapture-procs (which is by far the most mana you get as disc over the course if a fight) and not using Shadowfiend with Hymn of hope.

I have to agree with grishaan. If my offspecc wasn't holy for some fights in DS (10 man), where I run oom fast even with some spirit left on my gear as disc, I'd reforge all my spirit into other secondary stats because it is just so little regen compared to the other regen tools a disc has. Going down to shadow hit cap levels of spirit should be fine with discs regen as long as you use rapture properly and make good use of your fiend and hoh.

Hi, just had a simple Question. I wanna play Holy Priest
Right now i'm at 12.36% Haste Unbuffed with 2/3 Points in Darkness. The Reason i ask is because im Confussed.
Should i stack up so 12.50% Solo Buffed or should i unstack it to become 12.50% Raidbuffed. If so i can build up more Mastery.
I did read the 4.1 Post for Holy Priest but its still unclear to me.
Well thanks and best regards, Emelenzia

Trying to find a strategy for H Hag 10 man. We are currently running 3 healers (pally/druid and myself) and 1 druid tank.
We don't even survive a full first phase. If its ice phase, people seem to die to the Ice spikes after being dispelled. If its thunder, theres just too much damage at once. I looked for a strategy online and couldn't find any. If anyone has some strategy or tips I would appreciate it. Also, would holy be better than disc for this fight due to body and soul?

I go Holy for this for BaS, I'll explain why shortly.
Make sure people with the Frostflake debuff are running into the Watery Entrenchment (her big orb) before being dispelled. Dispelling it in the Orb doesn't create a Frost Patch, and there'll be no danger of anyone getting slowed. Make sure you Shield each person who gets the Frostflake debuff immediately for Body and Soul, to get them into the Entrenchment quicker before the snare debuff stacks higher. If you have a Hunter make sure he's running Aspect of the Pack for Ice phase. The Watery Entrenchment DoT doesn't proc it, the only thing that does is getting hit by a falling Glacier, which should be avoided no matter what.
For Lightning have 2 people handle each side. After the Elemental dies, have everyone but the 4 people doing the linking run to the middle for AoE healing, but make sure they spread out somewhat to not chain the Lightning Blasts. Just a loose stack, 5 yards apart or so. Have 2 go left and 2 go right, preferably classes with high DR/HP like tanks, DKs, Rogues, Spriests etc. Have the Paladin cover one of the side's healing, taking care of the 2 people chaining on the left side for example. Meanwhile you cover the other 2 people on the right side. Druid takes care of the raid healing. For this phase I stay in Sanctuary for more ProMs, lay Sanctuary under the raid in the middle, then bomb Gheals and bounce ProM between my two raid healing targets. Don't be afraid to switch to Flash Heal near the end of the phase where damage is ramping up more, to stack Serendipity for quicker Gheals.
Use Hymn of Hope/Shadowfiend/Conc Potions during the Feedbacks for mana. Good luck!

I run disc, the big shields help more for saving us from silly ice lance over-soaks and such (I still managed to get myself oneshot through pain sup a couple times). We also do a ranged pile in the middle on ice phases, which may or may not be worth it for your group comp, but for us makes it pretty simplistic (We just brute forced our 25man strat). We have our melee duck under the bubble to get dispelled, which also allows them to avoid the spike waves safely. Disc is just going to be worse for lightning, which is the vastly harder phase, but if everyone is clear that that's cool down time, and you have a decent linking plan, it's still easier than warlord imo. Don't worry about being efficient in either case, there's enough of a lull that you should be able to get back a ton of mana.

This is pretty much your own preference. I myself have 13% haste, because raidbuffed I have a 2 sec cast on greater heal, heal and PoH. Thats a casttime I feel comfortable with during fights. Some priests go towards 20%+ raidbuffed and others swear to keep haste just above 12,5%+. The main thing you need to keep in mind is that reforging haste to mastery means probably a higher output of heals. I however feel that with a low hasterating I can't react fast enough to things happening in DS. My healing, but als the percentage of overhealing has gone down since I started using a higher hasterating. I believe I have become more effective because of that. Do keep in mind: Haste means faster casts, so means a higher manaconsumption.
So to make a long story short: Just test different amounts of haste and see what you feel comfortable with. At the end of the day, if everybody lives at the end of the fight, you have done your job. The raw HPS does not matter.

I have 3/3 Darkness and reforged to exactly 1182 Haste, shows as 12.51% on my character sheet. Renew then has five ticks but Divine Hymn only has four. If I go to 13% I get five on both. Does anyone know the exact breakpoint for DH?

Typically, I go for enough Haste to get my PoH down to a 2 second cast (fully raid buffed) and then I start to really go for more Mastery. Although I'm already reforging any excess Spirit that I have into Mastery, as is.

With regards to this, Renew and Divine Hymn should fall in line with the 12.50% Haste breakpoint. You should be receiving 25 ticks or heals at that point. The next breakpoint then is at 37.50%. I'm not sure why you weren't seeing that amount of ticks with your current amount of Haste, as your character sheet looks fine to me.

You'll need 1184 to hit five ticks. I've reworked the section for Renew in my spreadsheet, adding the breakdown for Divine Hymn.
