It's 12.5% after all buffs in order to get an extra tick of Renew and extra ticks of other things. Namely, you can have extra ticks of Divine Hymn and Hymn of Hope -- in it's effort to clarify, the tooltip isn't very clear, by the way.

However, you can only get 5% haste from raid buffs (not counting Dark Intent), so you need to have 7.15% (because haste effects are multiplicative) to get up to the 12.5% to gain the extra tick of Renew.

I logged on the PTR to see the exact numbers - according to the patch notes there are only corrections in the tooltip, not actual spell costs. So everything should be as it is now on live (except for the reduced PWS duration).

It's been a couple days since this post, but to prevent misunderstanding, this is inaccurate.

Cataclysm Holy Priest Compendium

Priests can obtain 5% haste from raid buff auras (spriest/shaman/moonkin?), 3% from dark intent (not sure why you would have it), 3% from talents (Darkness). However these buffs are multiplicative so your actual haste is:

(Haste Rating Percentage * 0.01) * 1.05 * 1.03 * 1.03 which should equal/be greater than 1.125 for that extra Renew tick. For simplicity, there's a table in both priest compendiums which state the haste values you want to reach for that extra tick based on every combination of buffs (excluding DI).

If you are a holy priest, it will also trigger Echo of Light and will (if I remember correctly) also refresh the Renew on your target, if you are in Chakra: Serenity.

I have a question about weapon swapping for healing priests. I realise its more of a general question but still I want to know if what I think is doable.

Lets say you have 2 staffs of the same kind in your backpack, assuming you have the power torrent on one of them and a heartsong enchant on the other one, both are automated procs with internal cooldowns, is it viable to make a macro to swap your staffs whenever one of the enchants procs with another staff, so that you have a double benefit, if that is at all possible?

And to a certain degree would that work with 2x staffs with hearstong? If the 2 cooldowns are not on the same timer swapping staffs would give you a higher uptime, would appreciate some feedback on this if anyone has had that idea and perhaps tested it.

I did a bit of testing on training dummies, and you definitely can do this. Note that weapon swapping in combat now triggers a gcd. So for your purposes, you are losing cast time to gain mana regen. Questionable for regular use, but for some burst-lull-burst healing fights you can benefit. I was surprised to discover switching from say, power torrent mace to heartsong dagger, doesn't even remove the power torrent buff. Its very possible to have both buffs up at once.

From several minutes of testing on double heartsong, it appears impossible. I never had double heartsong buffs, and swapping weapons when heartsong proc'ed was still limited by the 20 second icd. I strongly suspect all ICD based weapon enchants will follow the same pattern. So no 80%+ uptime on power torrent for shadow, pity.

Edit: Gcd=/=Icd. So many acronyms.

Thanks alot, this info will be very beneficial, altough the use of 2x heartsong enchanted weapons for higher uptime seems impossible as you say, sacrificing 1 global cooldown to switch from a power torrent weapon to a heartsong weapon seems a good choice when you're low on mana. I will definetly be using this to my advantage in raids.

Hey I have a Shadow question

In regards to Power Torrent and DMC Volcano, Is there any scenario (either one of these procs or only both at the same time or anytime one is up) where clipping of a DOT (by alot) would yield an increase of DPS, or should I just ignore these buffs when doing my priorities?

Also when using Theralion's Mirror, the increase in mastery is captured by when ES is refreshed, even if ES lasts longer than the proc, is this correct? So any dot cast after the proc that has ended but ES that started during the proc will gain the mastery benefit, right?

I was wondering if I could get some help with our holy priest.

I feel like she is our weakest link healer wise and I cannot always trust her to keep the raid up.

I would like to know if there are any ways I could relay some help to her besides just saying 'get better'

Here are our h magmaw logs from tonight:

World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis - Our Disc Priest was having connection issues tonight so I guess you could say she had more room to 'pick up the slack' but I feel like she just played equally as usual.

There are also H Atramedes and N Nefarian logs as well as everything else I decided to turn the combat log on for.

I have very brief experience with 10 mans, but I will certainly take what I do know of that format and the format that I do run (25s) and try to help you (and her) out.

Greater Heal was her #1 heal on those attempts and she wasn't even tank healing or appeared to be in a tank healing Chakra. That strikes me as very out of place. She didn't appear to have too many stacks of Serendipity across all encounters, either. So that GH was coming out slowly and was probably a bit pricey, too. I'm curious why that spell was seeing so much usage.

Her PoM usage is light, too. She could probably stand to be using that more off cooldown.

She had a high uptime on Echo of Light, which is good (I don't even think I hit 90% very often) and a high active time overall, as well. So it doesn't look she's dying often or early, but I could be wrong.

I'll take a look @ her Armory and see if anything else to mind on that front. Unfortunately, the computer @ the office hates Battlenet and it takes a while for Armory profiles to load. I'll keep you posted!

Was there a nerf to runspeed enchant stacking with Inner Will? I recall both stacking on PTR (multiplicatively - shown in the char frame) but since the patch is live at least the char frame just shows 110% speed...
