Do any of you already have some statistics on the legendary questitems that drop of bosses?
I run 25 men raids and after 4 raids, my average is 1,8 gem cluster per boss and in each cluster i have on average 5-6 fragments. Seems very low to me

In relation to Garrote (but all blanket silences, I assume), what exactly does the enemy get locked out of? Is it just schools of magic? If so, that means - for example - a Hunter's Serpent Sting and all of their traps would be locked out, but Wing Clip and Disengage would not as they are Physical abilities.

Am I correct here?

An ability having a magic damage component doesn't mean it is affected by silencing effects. Example would be many Death Knight strikes and such. Icy Touch and Deathcoil however would be affected since they aren't strikes and are considered spells. Serpent Sting is a shot technically so it should also be unaffected by silence. Traps are affected by silence however. If you aren't using a weapon to inflict the dmg or effect it is usually affected by silence.

Really its usually pretty easy to tell whether silence should affect something or not but there are exceptions.

i have an issue with combat rotation i need some help clearing up. there is TONS of capping. right now, i open with tricks for t13 4piece > SS > snd > ssx2 > AR then i just go nuts on building 5cp and evi/rupt. The problem i have is, sometimes im having issues with capping and im holding off on activating ToT because of the 2piece t13. Is this right, or should i just not worry about capping and activate tot anyway? also, with all this energy, i find i miss KS opportunities because i know im regening so fast.

another thing, is it worth throwing up BS if im having happing issues during AR?

If by BS you mean backstab, no. Not remotely. There are a dozen combat mechanics that interact only with revealing strike and sinister strike and it could basically never be worth it to ignore them. If backstab were so obscenely powerful that it did become viable, you simply wouldn't spec combat.

Try to open with garrote whenever you can, and get shallow insight up (green buff) and then killing spree before you pop adrenaline rush. 2piece T13 is absolutely zero damage boost if you're energy capped, and is a significant loss (the equivalent of all of the forms of damage you get from using an SS, including IP and MG procs) if you use ToTT while already capped. Try to bottom out before you use killing spree, but don't just ignore it because you're energy capped. It's still a very good dps cooldown. The difference in dps between waiting until red insight to use KSp and using it on cooldown during green or higher is minimal, so if I'm in a high-regen period that I expect to end before my next red insight is over, I'll typically delay KS. Shouldn't happen very often.

Everyone says "I have an issue with combat: I'm constantly capping." That's not an issue. When you can't avoid capping, it's simply the reality. You never lose damage by being capped, you just lose *potential* damage if you could have done things differently so that you wouldn't cap.

Has there been any reliable answers discovered to the damage of the Tier 1 legendary daggers compared to other available weapons as Combat? I've seen multiple rogues using anything from 391 Gatecrasher to LFR No'kaled rather than the tier 1 MH. Does anyone have relatively definitive information as to when it becomes worthwhile to replace them, or is it still kind of up in the air? I don't really have any alternatives in terms of weapons to use anyway, but I'm curious as to what options would be better.

397 daggers are a few % ahead of 391 weapons from FL. 390 No'kaled is probably a couple hundred DPS ahead. 403 is much, much further ahead. The 397 2.6 speed weapons from the other bosses in DS may or may not be an upgrade. Probably a very, very, very slight upgrade given increased MG, IP, and KS damage.

has all the issues of energy capping with the increased haste levels and t13 2 piece bonus, CD postponing (i.e. AR not being used on CD) and haste pots been taken into consideration with combat's damage output? the combat spec seems really clunky.

what i've read elsewhere is that the insane capping issues is irrelevant because most damage is from autoattack, landslide up time etc. idk, i have my doubts about combat being a good single target spec because of the aforementioned.

things that make us cap as combat:
BL
AR
T13 2piece
Tol'vir pot
Trinket Procs
Legendary dagger proc (future)

Isn't this getting into the realm of being a DPS loss as compared to mutilate? it would function better with
BL, T13, Trinkets, Tol'vir pots so much as that you can use it all together with Vendetta up and put out a lot more dps. no?

Please tell me where im wrong.

I think you're overestimating how often we're going to be capping. I currently have an iLevel of 394 with 2 haste proc trinkets (the 397 one, and The Hungerer). The only time I ever really cap is during AR. This might be worse when I get my two piece, but a set bonus will rarely make or break a spec (and by rarely I mean practically never). Remember also that energy-capping itself is not a DPS loss, the "loss" is the opportunity cost you incur with regard to what you could have done with the energy. This makes capping during the legendary proc completely irrelevant: there's nothing better than spamming evis and melting away the cooldown on AR. One more thing, how does Tol'vir make us cap?

Hello. I have some questions that stuck in my head for some time. They are pretty situational, but isn't the reason of this thread?

Firstly, about Combat.
- The common engage cycle seems to be 2*SS > SnD > 2*SS > AR. But when Bloodlust is cast at beginning of the fight (eg. with Baleroc), should I still follow this cycle, and thus energy cap, or should I wait and use my Adrenaline Rush right after Bloodlust, but then delaying the second AR?
- Let's imagine I'm always at maximum energy. In this case, should I use: a) Tricks of the Trade with 2p T13; b) Killing Spree?

I also tried Subtlety PvE for a week or two.
- Is it better to clip Recuperate or SnD 4-5 secondes then letting it drop 1 sec ?
- About Hemorrhage, as it is not clearly explained in the Subtlety Compendium: I only have to use it when no Arms warrior nor Feral druid is in the raid, and only once every minute?
- Whenever Recuperate or SnD drop, should I re-apply them immediately whatever CP I have, or should I wait until 5 CP?
- At combat starts, when Find Weakness drops, must I use ShD immediately or wait to Premeditation?

At last, you guys often talk about Shadowcraft Engine, the one that we can download at github. But is there a way to use this one instead of shadowcraft.mmo-mumble.com?
Also, I remember the graph about the effect of fight duration on trinkets, back in T11 (http://www.rogueresource.com/wp-cont...inketgraph.jpg). Is there one similar for 4.3 trinkets, and, above all, how to make one?

Many thanks.

Not sure if this is really a gear question or a spreadsheet issue, so I thought I'd put it here. According to the Assassination Guide, Kiroptyric Sigil is quite weak, and I can certainly understand why. It's ranked just barely above the 378 version of the Hunger, which I currently have.

But according to Shadowcraft, it's ranked above the DS trinkets, and furthermore replacing Hungerer with this would result in a 861 dps increase! I've tried it over and over again and keep getting the same results. Bearing in mind that the haste and agility stats for both are about the same once you adjust for their respective icd's, this doesn't seem right at all. Needless to say I don't want to blow any valors on this until I know for sure.

To anyone who checks my armory right after this is posted, I'm currently in the half-assed spec I use for running dailies. When I raid I use the standard 31/2/8 spec, which I did adjust in Shadowcraft before I ran the numbers.

As always, any and all help is appreciated.

This kinda goes under the category for stupid questions but I couldn't find the answer on the raid mechanics thread. For spine of Deathwing, since the tendon is only exposed for like I think its like 20ish seconds... is it worth it for combat to spam Back Stab instead of SS for more burst? (This is assuming that they have the legendary daggers at any tier)

.

Since it has not been fixed, the sigil is modelled with a 60 second ICD instead of 90 seconds it definately has. Im quite sure antiarc is going to fix during the next days.

As BS will not proc Bandit's Guile this is going to be a significant dps decrease in most situations, especially if you have a Redirect up. The only case that might prove the exception is during Deep Insight (where you're not progressing into deeper levels of Insight anyway) if you're going to be energy capping anyway. If these circumstances aren't both up at the same time you're either suffering from missed BG progression (which is a killer) or from BS's dpe, which is far lower than that of SS.
