There's been a flurry of people lately posting about how incredibly awesome DMC Hurricane is, and how it procs *way* more than once a minute, and blah blah blah. So let me spell this out.
1 PPM does not mean it only procs once a minute. A 1 PPM effect is reasonably expected to proc around 3 times per minute. 1 PPM refers to a specific weapon-speed dependent proc rate based on the amount it will proc without haste buffs and only using autoattack. Since we have both haste buffs and instant attacks, it will proc more than once a minute.
Your 7 minute combat logs of "look what it did on Cho'gall last night, check it out, this is awesome", are not useful. Really, they're not. Stop posting them. All these logs is confirm that our 1 PPM estimate is in the right ballpark, but provide no useful information for improving that estimate.
DMC: Hurricane is not vastly underestimated by current models. It might be a little overestimated or a little underestimated, but I haven't seen a single parse that gives me even the slightest concern that the EP value is off by more than 100 EP or so. So your claims that you can tell its vastly better just by looking at it are, um, stupid.
If you'd like to perform actual *useful* testing - which we would appreciate - here's what you do. Take off your OH so you're only using one weapon at a time. Go autoattack the target dummy for at least an hour. Longer is better. Do not use specials. You don't need to do anything that turn autoattack on and go read a book. Then post the speed of the weapon you were using, and either the log, a link to the WWS of the log, or how many successful melee attacks you landed and how many procs were generated.
Next person who posts about how we're mis-estimating the proc rate of DMC Hurricane without real testing of what the proc rate actually is gets one more infraction point than the last person.
