As for Heroic Blackhorn, I'd pick 2/2 Reinforced Leather over Blade Twisting since it significantly decreases the Damage you take by Disrupting Roar (in p2) and Blade Rush (in case you're getting hit by it)
Even though you could just drop Improved Recuperate for Blade Twisting I guess..

I often pop recup if I happen to have a couple combo points up on a dead target with nothing to redirect to (which, incidentally, often coincides with Onslaught). The fight is healing intensive enough that I figure even a couple ticks and a temporary 6% damage reduction when you really need it are going to be worth more than a flat couple percent in p2.

Improved Recuperate make the soloing of Twilight Barrages (along with Feint, obviously) much easier.

I'm almost afraid to mention this and burst the bubble of awesome but has anyone else noticed you have a random unspecified +25% speed boost for Zon'ozz? Regardless of spec my speed is always 125% movement speed and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. The stealthbuff occurs whenever you are in his pit, it doesn't matter if he's alive or even if you're in combat.
Me being the moron I am I forgot to check if this also happens in Yor'Sahj's pit but either way it's most beneficial. As far as mechanics goes it doesn't really change anything except that it might skew the balance towards Combat ever so slightly as the buff doesn't stack with Quickening.

I commented on it in vent the other week and it seems all raid members receive 125% movement speed in both pits, I assume because the rooms are fairly large.

As a follow up to healing reductions effecting Zon'ozz's heal, I can confirm that wound poison does provide the expected 25% heal reduction. The following is an excerpt from a log where I was using wound poison and there was no one else in the raid that could provide the 25% healing reduction.

[22:39:44.496] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Shadan 65855 (R: 23797)
[22:39:44.905] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Warlord Zon'ozz +493912
[22:41:12.481] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Shadan 61397 (R: 38033)
[22:41:12.904] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Warlord Zon'ozz +460477
[22:41:32.985] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Shadan 20048 (A: 60142, R: 23182)
[22:41:33.369] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Warlord Zon'ozz +150360
[22:42:42.916] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Shadan 78720 (R: 22757)
[22:42:43.314] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Warlord Zon'ozz +590400

Additionally, here is a random 25 man parse (since psychic drain hits harder on 25):
***Note that this parse only had a 10% healing reduction***

[20:50:11.894] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Dramatus 115596 (R: 32110)
[20:50:12.276] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Warlord Zon'ozz +1040364
[20:51:18.187] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Dramatus 108541 (R: 30150)
[20:51:18.489] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Warlord Zon'ozz +976869
[20:52:48.520] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Dramatus 57403 (A: 9876, R: 31148)
[20:52:48.867] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Warlord Zon'ozz +516627
[20:54:18.786] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Dramatus 82597 (A: 24768, R: 29824)
[20:54:19.192] Warlord Zon'ozz Psychic Drain Warlord Zon'ozz +743373

Ignoring the time lost during black phase, Zon'ozz casts drain about every 30 seconds.
The following are some rough numbers of dps assuming he casts drain with no delays, in practice it works out to probably only 60-70% of the effective dps listed here, but is hard to get an estimate on because it depends on how often the raid bounces the ball into him.

The 10 man unreduced heal averages 565,050
With a 25% reduction the heal is 423,787
So using wound is effectively (636,260-477,195)/30 = 5.3k dps.

For 25 man, the unreduced heal averages 910,342
With 25% reduction the heal would be 682,756
So using wound is effectively (910,342-682,756)/30 = 7.6k dps.

However, I don't know how much dps loss is incurred by keeping wound poison up on the boss. If someone who has an idea about that and could give some insight into if it is worth keeping wound up that would be great.

Additionally, does psychic drain hit harder on the heroic version of the fight? If it does that would also increase how much effective dps it works out to.

It appears that sub is the spec of choice for heroic spine, since you can have SD up for every tendon. It's my understanding that double wound poison will yield more damage when you do target switches every 30 seconds or less (Sub Compendium). I just want to verify this is still the case, as I'm seeing some rogues running IP/DP and some using WP for it.

I wonder what kind of implications having to use expose armor may bring, whether it be a change of spec or cooldown usage. We may not be bringing another class that can do this, so I may be stuck with it.

I'm also curious about rupture use. One of the videos Exodus released is a rogue PoV, and while he's specced for it and uses it on the Amalgamations, he does not use it on the tendon. If using it on the tendon is not optimal, I would consider taking points out of restless blades for something like enveloping shadows if it proves to be more useful. I'm seeing nearly every rogue who has downed the fight speccing into it but not using rupture on the tendon. Having it will boost Amalgamation DPS, and killing those faster may negate any benefit from enveloping shadows.

I assume you mean Heroic Spine, and not Heroic Madness.

Dual WP should yield higher burst DPS. The increase will be small, but every ounce counts. I don't see much reason to use Expose Armor, though. While a 2CP EA would cover the phase, a Feral could do it in a single GCD with no significant personal loss. It might be worthwhile if you don't have a feral though, I don't have an estimate though.

Dropping Rupture from the rotation on the tendon is a bit of a tossup. The crossover point of where it's worthwhile is somewhere around 18s with the 30% bleed debuff (with averaged damage numbers, with FW it's much longer), just long enough to not be of any significant help in this scenario. I don't remember the exact value, I just remember that it needs to last slightly longer than a single Rupture does to be a clear gain. I wouldn't criticize anyone who puts it on the tendon, or leaves it off as of now, but if I were to guess I would say Rupture isn't worth it. Given the way the fight works.

I'm also not sure if Rupture continues to tick after the plate goes back down, as my guild is not quite on Heroic Spine yet and reading into the fight is relatively low on my priorities. If it does (which I doubt), then Rupture is most assuredly worthwhile. (Hunch was right)

From the videos I've seen, when the tendon is retargeted, it's within a percent of the health it had when the player's target is cleared, so I'm fairly certain everything gets cleared off of it.

Tested this last night in case anyone was wondering, and it's a huge help. In Blackhorn heroic, if one of the melee adds (perferably the dreadblade since he can cleave you) dies before the other, you can blade flurry the drake if positioning allows. Use caution though, I accidentally jumped off the ship once because you have to position yourself a little precisely.

I'm having difficulty figuring this out. What is best practice as a combat rogue (or otherwise) for hemorrhage adds on normal madness of deathwing? I assumed originally spellweaving didn't proc on FoK, so I would pop blade flurry and rock out on them. Turns out FoK does proc it, and is dramatically better dps than BFing them. However, still, I look at higher logs for combat rogues on this fight and they're showing 170+ spellweaving procs where I'm consistently at 100-110. Does anyone have any particular trick they like to use? BF+Kspree? Because the only way I can see someone getting 80% more spellweavings than I do during a fight is if their raid leaves hemorrhage adds up for a significant period of time so that the raid can splash them and cheese the logs.

And speaking of hemorrhage adds, does anyone happen to know why the world-first heroic madness kills all had one blood left alive from third platform and carried over to fourth? Once seems coincidental, but three of three does not.

Edit: Well we killed him again tonight and I ranked quite high with only 82 spellweaving procs, so now I don't even know what to think.
