So, to clarify: *speccing* Imp EA costs you about 5 DPS due to the loss of 2 points in poison talents; actually keeping Imp EA up is a significantly larger DPS hit (~100 for most people), as you lose all Rupture damage.
Regarding cycles: at most gear levels, shorter cycles are better - that is, 4s5r will do more damage than 5s5r. However, as your itemization gets up to late BT/Sunwell levels, the gains of cycle contraction diminish; once you have a couple Sunwell pieces, it's generally the case that 5s5r does comparable or even superior damage.
Note, however, that this doesn't apply to EA cycles; there's never any reason not to go 5s5a if you're keeping Imp EA up.

So, in a perfect scenario assuming I don't overlap SnD Cycles, I should hit the dps presented in the DPS sheet, but as soon as SnD cycle overlaps and mistakes happens I lose dps ?
From what you're saying regarding imp EA spec, as long as I am that spec and have to keep up EA I lose about 100 dps maybe more depends on the situation.

It seems that the sheet imports your legenchant incorrectly. Just remove the enchant from your leggings in the sheet.

With a 5s/5x cycle you will almost always overlap SnD uptime, and the sheet already accounts for this. So there is no DPS loss.
Differences in DPS happens if you face an unlucky string of crits, dodges, misses, movement, missing buff/debuff uptime, etc.
Basically you will never reach the exact number displayed in the sheet, sometimes more, sometimes less, all depending on the RNG of your swings.

Would it be possible to request some more tanking items added to the sheet for the next version?
I got a little list put together, but I notice a lot of missing items, especially trinkets. Some purely tanking items are in the spreadsheet already, so I figure it shouldn't be a major issue to add some others as well.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's because you only have one blue gem in the gear linked in your armory. Unless I quite miss my guess, your T6 shoulders have a blue gem in them, such that when you equip them, your helm metagem activates; when you replace them with Vehemence, the metagem turns off, resulting in a DPS loss.

tried as hard as i could and could not for the life of me find a way to plug fist weapons into it. all it did is let me pick from the list of swords and i need to find how to make it use fists too.
i need to know if venir's fists are if at all better than s2 swords. thats the fists in a fist spec and swords in a swords spec.
my rogue is currently utilizing the 2 swords as i have my skepticism to switching to fists for that many badges for a minimal if any dps upgrade.

I'm fairly certain badge fist / s2 sword (with sword and fist spec) will be better DPS for you than badge fist / badge fist, and s2 sword / s2sword.
You can find the drop-down to change your weapons under the Gear_Buffs tab, scroll to the right, and under the "Equip Options" section there are drop downs for your MH and OH weapon type.

For a human rogue, in most cases S2+S2 wins out, due to +5expertise.
For non human rogue, Vanir's+S2 is better.

Now that they are giving dwarves a mace specialization after patch 3.0, I was wondering how the proc of Syphon of the Nathrezim is implemented. Is the damage from the proc taken into account of the dps? Because it proc's quite often when I tried to skill up my mace-skill in the Blasted Lands.
EDIT: will the spreadsheet be updated at all for 3.0.2?

The Armory Import (and most of those other nice gray buttons) do not work on open office.

Someone reported this post for idiocy. I decided to see how tough it was to find the armory import option. I went to the first page of the thread, took a 20 second look at the Faq and downloaded the spreadsheet. This little gem jumped out at me:
How is it you missed that?
Let me sum up the help you'll get: Look harder.

Now that the basic talents seem more stable, I've begun working on the talent page and the associated links to the formulations used in the spreadsheet. I hope to have it up to speed by the release of the new talents to live but that really depends on how extensive future changes are (necessitating going back and recoding things); whether I run into any hitches implementing new mechanics; and how much lead time we have before that happens. So the answer is yes.
In the process I've also been recoding some things so that they will be easier to update with patch changes. This might cause a delay in getting ready for the expansion, but should make future updates go much smoother and we know there are often more frequent patches and changes right after an expansion release.
As to the proc rate, the Syphon is currently modeled as a 1 PPM effect with no internal cooldown and is accounted for in the displayed DPS on the spreadsheet.

While doing my comparision between the life and PTR level 70 combat build against a level 60 target, I noticed that the difference between the predicted and the actual DPS value was about 75, with the actual DPS being higher (1435 to 1511).
Now, I was performing four sessions of ~11 minutes each, with a cycle that included 3x Adrenaline Rush, and therefore somewhat increasing the value of AR due to removing one cooldown, but 75 DPS seems a bit too high to be caused by a one in three cooldowns (or, 4 in 12).

That's odd since I'm showing 1481 when inputting your information and optimizing. That's quite a bit closer to the 1511 and might possibly be covered by the extra AR uptime and random error.
For some reason I could not import, so had to change things by hand. The DPS does drop to about 1431 if I take AToL and set it to "none" to reflect the Riding Crop that shows up in your armory profile though. Do you have that sheet saved and can you check to see if it's a Riding Crop issue?

Wow, my fault. It was not exactly the Ashtongue Talisman, but the other trinket, to which I don't want to go more in detail, let's just say that instead of the Dragonspine Trophy I selected another trinket which begins with the same three letters and is... a bit older...
Coming up with 1481 DPS now as well.

DMM, while you are working on the WotLK version, could you get rid of the weapon type selection field? Please please? It is such a pain.
Or at least add "all types" option.
