and to flaminghomer I understand that a slower sword with higher damage per hit would be more beneficial. However I really want to see what the dps change is with the gear available to me using two of these swords compared to combat daggers.

You don't need to see what the DPS change will be. You will lose massive amounts of DPS. Never ever use a fast weapon in your main hand.
In the past few weeks, between regular updates, I've gone through some items to mark for deletion.
Some of the lists are starting to get rather long.
These items do not seem to make the cut versus high-end quest items (if there is such a thing) or easy to get BoE Crafted items.
Here is a list of Weapons and Ranged targeted for removal.
Weapons - cutoff 70 DPS except for Blackout Truncheon (the only really fast low-end Mace)
Thunderfury (54 DPS just doesn't cut it anymore)
Wastewalker Shiv (not sure how this 55 DPS weapon made the list)
Additionally, is there anyone who still feels it necessary to model any of the GM/HW weapons now that S1 can be bought with Honor?
Ranged - Compared items to Mama's Insurance, Fitz's Throwing Axe and Felsteel Throwing Knives, eliminating those that lagged behind these in DPS.
Gyro-Balanced Khorium Destroyer
Hemet's Elekk Gun
Huhuran's Stinger
Larvae of the Great Worm
Legion Blunderbuss
Legionkiller
Lohn'goron, Bow of the Torn-heart
Mark V's Throwing Star
Needle Shrike
Nerubian Slavemaker
Shuriken of Negation
Soulstring
Striker's Mark
The Sharp Cookie
Valanos' Longbow
Wrathfire Hand-Cannon
If I do not hear any compelling reason to keep any of these, they will be removed in this update. I did go through Wowhead and added a few missing items that are in the ballpark of those that remain.
I've seen some screenshots of some weapons from Sunwell Plateau. When are you planning to add them to the sheet? I know it's early to fit them in, but I would like to see how they compare with the current weapons.

Probably need a confirmation that they really exist first.

If you're excited about some of the supposed 2.4 loots and don't want to wait to have them put in for you, something to consider is to put them into the spreadsheet yourself. Just edit the information of an item you're not interested in or will never use, and then change it to match the 2.4 loot. If you're unsure or don't want to do that, then you'll probably have to wait like most people until 2.4 hits the PTR and people confirm the various gear to have it in the spreadsheet.
New items will come when I'm more positive they are real. That said...
New version up
2.4.0.1 dmm Added
All enchants modeled (like Heavy Knothide Armor Kit) are now properly identified for all slots they can be used in, resolving Armory Import issues.
All modeled weapons that can be equipped in either hand are modeled for either hand, resolving Armory Import issues.
Mallet of the Tides; Terrok's Gavel; Andonisus, Reaper of Souls; Twinblade of Mastery; Crystal-Infused Shiv; and Talon of Anzu.
Adamantine Repeater and Crystalline Crossbow
Attack Power Equivalences along side the Agility Equivalences on the Talents page.
Changed
Shaman buffs now colored light blue for reability given the lack of Mage buffs that help Rogues.
Many Macro buttons enlarged.
Heroic gems no longer Unique-Equipped.
Poisons are now disabled based on the Option on the Talent sheet.
Altered % uptime estimates for suspected ~1 ppm weapon procs based on 1/3 uptime for 10 second MH procs and 1/2 uptime for 15 seconds.
Offhand procs estimated at 1/6 for 10 seconds and 1/4 for 15 seconds. Both done to provide consistency.
All ~1 ppm entered as 1.2 ppm based on the Mongoose/Executioner research.
Mongoose as an estimate so that it should compare better to Executioner at different build levels.
All this as a temporary measure prior to implementation of new improved ppm modeling.
Illdari-Bane Broadsword and Illdari-Bane Dagger now linked to mob type for Demon bonus.
Weapon list has been reviewed and adjusted to only include weapons with 69.67+ DPS.
Blackout Truncheon chosen as the bottom point due to the lack of fast Maces in early itemization.
Ranged weapon list has been reviewed. Those items not close enough to quest accessible items removed.
Importing Options also imports the options on the Gear Buffs sheet.
Fixed
Mob Armor can no longer be reduced below zero.
AEP Macro now working again if certain items equipped or bonuses active.
Doubled Copy buttons removed.
Upgrade Macro should now correctly search the 2nd Ring or Trinket on the list.
Fury was missing socket.
Demonblood Eviscerator was missing Expertise rating.
High Warlord's Left Ripper and Grand Marshal's Left Ripper had incorrect damage and speed.
The Unbreakable Will, Honor's Call and Warp-Storm Warblade were missing Defense rating.
Offhand Talon of Azshara and offhand King's Defender had old stats.
Removed
Thunderfury and Wastewalker Shiv as the dps output is worse than some unmodeled green items.
Gyro-Balanced Khorium Destroyer; Hemet's Elekk Gun; Huhuran's Stinger; Larvae of the Great Worm; Legion Blunderbuss; Legionkiller
Lohn'goron, Bow of the Torn-heart; Mark V's Throwing Star; Needle Shrike; Nerubian Slavemaker; Shuriken of Negation; Soulstring
Striker's Mark; The Sharp Cookie; Valanos' Longbow; and Wrathfire Hand-Cannon
All Grand Marshal's and High Warlord items given the availability of S1 for Honor.
I just downloaded the newest version of the spreadsheet but whenever I open it I get a Visual Basic Error that says "Error Loading DLL"
After closing the error window the sheet loads but none of the macros work ("Cannot run the macro ...... may not be available or macros are disabled) But I have macros enabled. I can still use the spreadsheet but just not the macros, which is quite annoying
Has anyone else had this problem or am I doomed to be macro-less?
I've noticed a bug, though i'm not sure exactly whats causing it.
I'm currently using the belt of deep shadows with two shifting nightseyes socketed (4agi/6sta). When i switch to the belt of one hundred deaths, i get a dps increase of 5.61, until i replace one of the two nightseyes with a Glinting noble topaz (4agi/4hit) which then drops my dps by -12.41
I'm not breaking the socket bonus, in essence all i'm doing is switching +6sta for +4hit - the sheet is obviously modeling something wrong, but i don't know how to fix it.
In testing this more, with my current gear setup, if i change the +4agi/+6stam gems in the belt of deep shadows to a +8agi gem (thus changing my stats by +1agi and -6stam) and this is giving me a net dps loss of 19.53
Ranged - Compared items to Mama's Insurance, Fitz's Throwing Axe and Felsteel Throwing Knives, eliminating those that lagged behind these in DPS.
Gyro-Balanced Khorium Destroyer
Hemet's Elekk Gun
Huhuran's Stinger
Larvae of the Great Worm
Legion Blunderbuss
Legionkiller
Lohn'goron, Bow of the Torn-heart
Mark V's Throwing Star
Needle Shrike
Nerubian Slavemaker
Shuriken of Negation
Soulstring
Striker's Mark
The Sharp Cookie
Valanos' Longbow
Wrathfire Hand-Cannon
I support your desire to remove some of the less performing weapons. But there are some ranged weapons I wouldn't remove yet. Esp. the ones available in 25-man raiding zones, due to the fact that the sheet should help raiders to decide whether they need specific items or not. Thus I would at least keep Legionkiller and Shuriken of Negation.
/edit: sorry DMM didn't see that you already removed them, before I made my post.

Any ideas how this can be fixed?
Sounds like you disable the Meta Gem Bonus, when switching out a purple (blue) gem.
I've tried to do my homework and follow along but my math skills often lag. This is my gear The World of Warcraft Armory
Please ignore the poor gems in Girdle of Treachery. I'm getting Deep Shadow made tonight and didn't want to waste money on better for a temp belt. I have been planning on putting 2 +8hit gems in it.
My question is this. When I look at my specs in game I'm showing 302 hit. When I look at the spreadsheet unbuffed totals I'm showing 381. The difference is apparently coming from the talents number on row 75. I understand the hit cap is now 363 so I would be well over it.
Should I change my gem plans and stop worrying about hit? Is that 381 the number I should be concerned with or is it the one I see when I look at my stats in game.
I do see a dps increase (slight) on the sheet if I continue gemming for hit. Should that be happening if I'm over the cap?

Deep shadow should only put you at 338 hit, perhaps you should double check your input in the spreadsheet as the 381 figure must be incorrect.
Did you go to the buffs tab and correctly set the buffs you get and debuffs placed on the target, cause every time I use the sheet its dead on, also are you using the most up to date version?
I've sent you in PM the requested test results and button sizes on Mac OSX.
A few more things though, could you add lvl 71 and lvl 72 mobs in the talent spreadsheet selection?
Since most BT and Hyjal trash mobs are level 71-72, i don't really see a reason to leave those 2 levels out.
It'll help fine tune a perfect suit for average use, and expect to receive a +3% improved faery fire on bosses as cap.
Also, since the new popups for gear selection are causing so much trouble(still not working), is there any particular reason that you can't use the same popup-type that's being used everywhere else? e.g. for weapons, armor, rings, etc.
And, as another feature, could you perhaps add a box somewhere that matches the displayed hit rating as it would be in game?
" =uhit-H75 " It'd be nice to have for reference.
What is supposed to go into columns M, N, O.
They seem rather empty at the moment for the gear sheet.
---
Another request, instead of displaying "1 Red 1 Blue 1 Yellow" In the first column, then replacing that with "3 agi" when the sockets are filled, and thus making it impossible to see what sockets the item has...
Could you make it work something like this :
"0/1 Red 0/1 Blue 0/1 Yellow : 3 agi" : Colored gray, if the socket requirements are not met.
"2/1 Red 2/1 Blue 1/1 Yellow : 3 agi" When the socket requirements are filled.
This would make it a lot clearer to see what sockets you're using / filling / could replace. It's a bit of a haggle currently.

-= Random Ravings - RSS Feed =- Rogue and Hunter stuff here. As well as guides to get you trough your spare time.
Giske: All data imported from armory this morning and checked. Substituting in Deep Shadow with the 2 Rigid Dawnstones I get 336 by subtracting that extra 79 points in H-75.
Saytar: Am using the latest version. Downloaded this morning. The figure I'm concerned with is from the unbuffed totals line.
The difference is attributable to cell H-75 which contains the formula Talents!I19*hitrate*100.

The 363 hit cap is WITHOUT precision included, the unbuffed total in the spreadsheet includes the 5% hit from Precision, which the game display does NOT include. This would explain your discrepancy.
I would recommend you keep Thunderfury IN the sword list since it's 54 DPS is it's BASE dps and you're not including the approximated damage from the proc. I've read estimates over the years with the Thunderfury proc raising it's overall dps anywhere from 80 to 120.
You don't need to see what the DPS change will be. You will lose massive amounts of DPS. Never ever use a fast weapon in your main hand.
I was afraid it would be, however with the updated spreadsheet, I found that upgrading my Malchazeen and Gladiator's Shiv to dual Akil'zon's Talonblade, and switching from Combat Daggers to Combat Swords will be a small improvement in DPS.
I don't plan to keep the fast sword in both hands, of course, but it is good to see that I don't loose anything by the switch and it will only increase once i get a new main hand sword.

A couple questions...
1) Have you used the spreadsheet and had Macros work in the past?
2) What operating system are you using? If a Mac, you have to use the NA version.
3) Does the NA version of the sheet work for you? (Has all but one Macro)
4) If the NA version works but the non-NA version doesn't, you may need to download the MSXML6 library used for one of the Macros on the main sheet. Located at the same site.

I can always add them back in. Seems a good enough reason. I just wanted to get a version out this weekend to fix some of the problems. So, input on other items is still being considered. I just didn't want to be modeling 60 ranged weapons.
Zurgat -
Level 71 and 72 mobs are on the to do list and is actually why I labeled the pulldown the way I did. It's not necessarily the simplest thing to do. I haven't looked into how many cells need to change to implement something like that. The reason they have been skipped is that's the way the sheet worked when I took over development. It was either boss stats or level 70 stats. I will have to implement a "sliding" scale and find all the cell references that need to use it.
Combo box vs. List box. Because the function is completely different. When you change a list box. Nothing else changes. You see the stats change but that's because each cell accesses the list box and adds the values along the same line. For the Combo box, there is a change routine that gets activated (basically a Macro) that is programmed as to want needs to change and how. If I converted this to a list box, you would lose the ability to change any of the item boxes as they would become inert just like the stat rows and change as you changed the gear type.
As to additional stats like you suggest, those will have to wait for the sheet modeling. At this point the sheet is very clogged and a lot of things do not like to be moved.
Which leads into the next issue, those rows used to be weapon skills once upon a time. When weapon skill got changed to Expertise, you didn't need separate entries for each weapon type. Now, as I mentioned about things moving, when I tried to remove those 3 columns, the sheet broke a few versions. Weighing the value of spending my time to remove empty columns that hurt nothing but space, or trying to improve other aspects of the sheet, I chose the latter. I plan to eventually get back to that in the remodel, but not before then.
And finally sockets...I have a better solution but it will take a bit of effort to implement. It will become clear what color sockets are as the entire stat line will be colored that color. I need to add a little behind-the-scenes functionality for it, but I will need this same functionality if I'm going to implement the better Upgrade routine which will auto-change gems in the process.

Well, looking how Thunderfury was modeled in the sheet last version and comparing it to Edge of the Cosmos with the default gear, Thunderfury (with the debuff) is showing as 44 dps worse than this 71.3 dps weapon that is at the low end of what is modeled. It is my understanding that Thunderfury was severely nerfed in proc rate. We are also talking about TF as a 1.9 speed weapon. Really too fast to MH and too slow to offhand. It's just not that good as a Rogue weapon. Maybe pre-BC when the proc might be a substantial portion of one's damage, but now it just isn't. If you can find me some combat logs that show me something different, I'll reconsider, but right now, if I added it back in, it would be the worst weapon modeled. As to Andonisus, it's a 81.3 DPS weapon. Yeah, it's used pre-BC, but it is competitive, so I added it in just in case someone goes back to that quest line and is curious whether to use one's current weapons or use this when it drops.

I did have the spreadsheet with macros in the past ... But all is fixed now, I just uninstalled and reinstalled excel again, everything works again
I'm sorry to say, but since the last version, the special gems from the heroic instances don't seem to be unique anymore (again). Is it possible to fix this again?
