Hey trying to find a macro or trying to write a macro to autoattack nearest target while FoK spamming (like the spider wing in naxx etc.) My delima happens when I come up in stealth on 20 mobs and immediately come out of stealth (with SnD already running along with hfb) and fire off 3 global cooldowns of FoK then pop arcane torrent and swiftthistle to get a few more off. What I'm noticing is I'm just standing there!!!! If i do manage to hit "autoattack" that mob may die immediately and now again. Im stuck standing there like an idiot....(yes I am FoKing but while waiting a second or two on energy I just stand still) Is there a macro I can tie into my FoK button so it does something like:
/cast Fan of Knives
/target nearestenemy
/attack
would this work? This would make my efficiency so much better, am I the only person with this issue?!?! Same thing happens occasionally with cheap shot. I'll just sit there, which usually isn't a problem cause I have enough energy for a mutilate but if I AM low. I'll sit there and have to wait for a mutilate (which procs autoattack) or press my "d" key (autoattack) Which gets very tedious.
I will love you all forever if we can resolve a macro solution for this. Am I doing something wrong?! As you know if you just spam "attack" it keeps resetting your swing rotation and is actually slower than just pressing it once. Maybe the macro needs to have a timer in it so if I'm spamming it it won't turn auto attack off or reset the swing timer. Again thank you all for your information. Especially Saedo, dude you have been a godsend and very mature in your responses. I appreciate you bearing with me =)))
This should work (at work right now, so can't test it):
/targetenemy
/startattack
/cast Fan of Knives
That should essentially Tab to the closest enemy, turn on auto-attack, and then do FoK. The only problem is that it will switch targets every time you hit it, so I'm not sure how often you will get to attack, as you will be rapidly cycling through all the enemies in range.
This macro should get you the effect you're looking for:
#showtooltip
/startattack
/cast Fan of Knives
/startattack does not toggle your autoattack status, so it's great to use to ensure that you're attacking something. I believe it will also select a nearest target for you if you don't have one selected already.
Using this exact same format will solve your Mutilate problems too:
#showtooltip
/startattack
/cast Mutilate
Now you can just mash your Mutilate button to start attacking even if you have too little energy. Perfect for target switching during multi-target melees.
edit: remember to give the macro the red ? icon, #showtooltip will automatically fill in the icon to match the command you've got in the macro itself.
Is it possible to keep many weapons with the berserking enchant in your bag, and switch when they proc throughout the fight? Or are the procs socket related? Like MH and OH.
For 3.1 combat, I basicly kept the 7/51/13 set up with the exception of moving points from Endurance and Weapon Expertise to pick up Lightening Reflexes . Using a 4s/5r cycle, I was kind of dissapointed , as the dps increase wasnt verry impressive. With all the upcoming changes , has 7/51/13 been replaced as the top combat build ? If so then what should I be changing ?
First off. Ticia and Thargood. I F-ing LOVE YOU! Your lil angels from wow heaven sent to help me hahaha (im at work) but when i get home this should solve many of my problems. In reference to that trinket question. I have another question along those same lines. I have the loethab trinket with a 2 minutes cd that you can pop for the 670 horse power =) If I have that equipped and I pop it, kick some ass for 20 seconds and then swap out to my meteorite whetstone will that immediately proc off it's internal CD?? I can't imagine anything that would STOP that from working but I figure I'd ask you guys. =P
I was looking over the best item enhancements for Rogues, and a lot obviously depends on what professions one chooses. But a few all seem around equal, and as I would like to be the best rogue possible for raiding I was wondering which add the most to my dps.
Right now I am skinning and leatherworking, skinning for the crit buff, and leatherworking for the +Ap to bracers. What I was wondering was should I switch to something like Ench and JC, where Ench lets me put AP on my rings, and JC have their own special and at least to me way better Gems.

JC is above the rest atm due to lack of epic gems. Most of the others are balanced around a 64 AP value.
Duh! Didn't think about that haha. Not exactly worth it on trash but would be nice if that would be possible. Thanks for the response.
In reference to what other professions:
I'm a JC and Miner and Absolutely love JC. The dragon's eye gems are usually close to double blue gems. (IE: +27 agility +27 expertise etc) and you can use up to 3 at any given time, NOT 3 gems on gear in your whole inventory. (great for pvp sets etc. You could have like 3 agility/crit gems for pvp set and then another 3 dragon's eye's for your pve set) Being a rogue in WOTLK if you understand the importance of hit/expertise/poison soft cap. Having these gems really allow for versatility. Not to mention a descent money maker. Dragon's eye's can be obtained once a day and possibly more with icy prism. It is definately worth it and up there on the "best professions for dps" Enchanting would also be a great pick. Yes you can get enchants on your rings but more importantly, you have no idea how often my friends end up stuck after heroics and raids where everyone forgetting to roll on abyss crystals etc. You could be beserking in no time =D. Good luck!
Well then i think i will drop one for JC, my next question would be then, is it easy/ not impossible to lvl JC without having mining to go along with it? Because then I could just drop both and grab Ench/JC, but would it be easier to grab mining/jc then drop mining for ench?
It's not really hard to level. There's a small bump around 200, that can set you back a few hundred gold, but if you manage to snatch a Design: Golden Hare, it will cost considerably less.
Overall I'd say JC is roughly 1.5-3k to powerlevel (disenchanting or selling most of what you craft). Considering that, you "recoup" that via Dragon's Eyes with in two to three weeks.
Of course this depends on your servers economy so YMMV.
Also if you're the min-max type then Blacksmithing is somewhat superior to JC due to more flexibility,
you can socket any gem you require in the prismatic sockets,
also it's future potential due to epic gems bringing BS to 80ap from a profession.
Although this assumes that there won't be 40ap enchants on Ring.
Still, Enchanting has value in the fact that you can disenchant all your previous gear for a ample source of Abyss Crystals.
Fans glory to the Gladiators,
Gods glory to the Heroes.
So what exactly does Blacksmithing have over ench? You are saying it creates more sockets in my items for my JC gems, or just in general gives more sockets. Also, if I do drop my LW and skinning, can i pick them back up at the lvl they are at now?

But in terms of bonuses, Blacksmithing and Enchanting are the same. You can enchant both of your rings with +32 AP for a total of +64 AP if you're enchanting. If you're Blacksmithing, you can add 2 sockets in which you could put in +32 AP gems, so it ends up being the same. Though I guess you have the +16 Agi option if you go Smithing and I don't believe you have that option as Enchanting.
Why is that that my target dummy and current dps spread sheet shows evenom as best, however I hear alot of rogues saying Evis with instant x2 is better.

Anyone explain?
You should do some reading before asking these types of questions. IIV (Double Instant Eviscerate) is best because you have your target poisoned by another source (another rogue, hunter).
Yea, thats alot of pages to go through with school and work. I can see that its better i was just looking for some of the math behind it. Sorry about the double post had my friend post for me.

Aldriana wrote up a comparison of IDN and IIV (and the hypothetical IDN*) a while ago in the 3.1 Changes, right here.
Once 3.1 hits, what's going to be the best dagger combo for Mut? SR/SR or SR/WD?
We won't know until 3.1 hits.
If things stay as they are, it would seem that slow MH and fast OH will be best however I don't have the latest test data incorporating the change to Master Poisoner (which may cause a reversion to slow/slow again).
The point I am trying to make is that we can only say for sure when the patch version is frozen and released.
