Well, yeah. I rerun the simulation several times on my PC. Its not really as big gain as I first thought. The reason I decided to check combat envenom spam is because of the HaT envenom numbers.

Also, while my 'bugged' simcraft does not produce the right numbers, it's safe to compare the numbers using only it. As bugged fist spec does not change the relative dps of the setups as our finishers are weapon agnostic.

EDIT: So to not spawn more posts, here are the results I got when I ran the sim on my pc:

The Rogue_T8_18_51_02_BS profile is my previous 18_51_02_FD Envenom spam.

Sure it's not a big gain. But as I said I did not even try to optimise the actions queue for the envenom (as I don't fully understand the syntax and how it's parsed yet).

To continue with updated HaT profiles, the 23/05/43 Envenom build is even better than 18/10/43 with a ridiculously high 7375 dps, a full 10% better than the second best spec.

Actually, in the numbers I produced, I used a 171 dagger wherever it made sense including the 51/13/07 profile, so the results are "fair" and reflect current best in slot itemization for the different specs on the PTR.
The Envenom HaT spec just seems overpowered with the synergy provided by backstab and rupture glyphs and the extremely high uptime of envenom buff with the envenom glyph.

Surely you should be using a slow weapon in the MH with IP, and thus use Hemo (or SS?) rather than backstab. With IP being on a PPM basis, this means that your finishers will proc the MH poison much more often if you use a slow weapon. The offhand weapon is largely irrelevant, you want whatever is the highest ilvl/stats and is fast enough to prevent the DP stack from falling off naturally. I suspect CG/SR will be the best combination.

Seems rather unbalanced. Even though this is a PTR-in-flux, I'm more inclined to believe I have a modeling problem somewhere....

Yes, but Backstab efficiency with the glyph and talents may be enough to offset the added IP procs.

Running the sim with the different combinations, I find hemorrhage (7660 dps) > backstab (7450 dps) > sinister_strike ( 7130 dps) however since the simulation finds that the unglyphed hemorrhage debuff by itself is contributing about 2000 RDPS in the full Rogue_T8.simcraft, I believe there's a bug somewhere in the implementation of hemo and the results are not meaningful.

On average, an hemo is performed every 5s in the sim, thus the base damage contribution before armor and crit modifiers is at most 75*10/5 = 150 RDPS. It would require an average crit modifier of more than 1000% to bring it to 2000 RDPS...

In short: hemo results are unreliable in the sim and simply comparing backstab to sinister strike heavily favors a backstab build.

That doesn't seem completely out of line, honestly. The buff to Deadly's AP scaling makes it better than Wound for the fast offhand, and with that spec (Imp Poisons) you're getting almost 97% Instant Poison procrate off the Mainhand with the Envenom buff active, and it parsed 96% uptime.

While FD results were skewed because of the bugs I do believe that Swords don't have any bugs in them. The FD build is the standart one just to Tricks Rogue_T8_20_51_00_SR. The build I used is: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

I guess I should explain something. What I'm really trying to do here is not to post some numbers and prove anything, but to highlight one simple thing (as I see it anyway):
The introduction of much awaited mechanic on Envenom as a glyph, while being a positive thing on our DPS, is actually quite bad thing overall in my opinion. With only 3 glyph slots it basically forces each spec we have to drop rupture completely (as without a glyph and a 10% bonus from T7 it will obviously be even worser then now) and simply spam envenom. While it wont change anything for HaT (who cares what ability do you spam?), it will dumb down every other spec. I'm not an elitist or anything but I do not want a return of TBC auto attacking mousewheeling bots.
It also would be quite funny if Mutilate envenom spam proves to be better without ruptures (hint: HfB).

Rogue_T8_23_05_43 should be glyphing SnD/Envenom/Rupture -- you left the Backstab Glyph in.

The biggest issue, in my eyes, with the Envenom glyph isn't that it drops Rupture from your rotation or things of the like (though that's a significant point), but rather that it makes Envenom the best finisher for pretty much all our specs (which is highly contradicting when, say, Combat, has talents that specifically increase Eviscerate damage), and makes one spec in particular viable for the sole reason the glyph exists. I don't think that's what they intended to do, ultimately, with the addition of the Envenom glyph - as much as we like it, it really should be in a deep Assassination tree talent, as the only spec that truly needs the glyph is Mutilate.

I'm currently reading up on the specifics of SimulationCraft, so please excuse me if I missed something, but your 23-5-43 spec with hemo has Puncturing Wounds instead of Ruthlessness. While I see the point of keeping the development of the spreadsheet introduced in the Free Hat: Deep Subtlety thread stricly seperated from this simulation, I gotta admit I'm in general somewhat surprised all the previous backstab builds take Lethaligy over Ruthlessness.

edit: additional comments on Ruthlessness; using a combo point builder over a low combo point finisher is in almost all cases (except for less than 2 combo points and capped out energy) a dps loss. I'm wondering if you already tried optimizing the talents and simply found improving the combo point builder to be better than ruthlessness due to the relatively conservative HAT events/sec

edit2: you might need to recheck some of the glyphs. I see combatbuilds sporting the glyph for the combo point builder and rupture, which are both correct, but as 3rd major you've gone for snd. The new Killing Spree or Adrenaline Rush glyphs are upgrades as described in the 3.1 early preview thread.

With the current SVN revision (r1746), I still get a raid DPS increase of about 2000 whenever I switch to Hemorrhage. Have you committed your changes yet ?
