About the extension (I plan on getting it, it seems too useful to pass up as HAT). I've never really installed an extension, so could someone give me a quick how-to once it's posted?

I suspect he simply modified Recount's source code, as I don't think that Recount itself has an API on which other addons can hook to (sp? ).

Mavanas do you have any #'s on what a mutilate build with LR is at? I'm curious to see the raw # difference between 51/18/2 and 51/13/7. If that info is posted elsewhere please let me know.

Here's the link to the Recount Extension:
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
Basically what it does is 'hook' into your existing Recount, (tested with 1.3), and adds two
new options: 'Ability Crits' and 'Ability Crits/min'.
All HAT proccing abilities are defined in 'Recount_HAT_Abilities.lua'. Surely, after 3.1, more
will need to be added, such as Rupture. Note that the abilities listed in this file are named
by their unranked names. "Eviscerate" instead of "Eviscerate(Rank 1)"
There's always the chance that there are some abilities not being tracked that should be.
If you create a chat window called 'RecountHATDebug', then the addon will log to it any
abilities that it thinks might/should be in this abilities list. It does this by tracking any
spells that crit, have a cost, and a cooldown.
If you want to estimate how many procs per second you can get out of your raid, track the
number of ability crits/min for a tank and spank type fight, take the top 4 ability crits/min,
total them together, add yourself to the total, divide by 60. So, if all 5 members of your group
on average can crit 24 times per minute, including yourself, that's 2 crits per second total.
Like I said, this addon doesn't take into account the internal cooldown per group member of 1 second.
It's a very limited addon, but it's gotten me through and vastly helped me decide who to stack
in my groups. Enjoy.

To install it, you simply install it like any other addon. Extract it to a folder, like 'Recount_HAT' and put it in your Addons folder. It basically hooks into known global variables that Recount uses. I'm only actually using Recount for the GUI, since I didn't feel like rewriting that portion. The actual tracking happens from within the HAT Addin, so it's easy to tweak without affecting Recount.

Thanks Aeternal,
Just one note about notation, when I am saying 2 c/s, it refers to HaT rate from the rest of the group excluding yourself. If you include your own crits. it would be a higher number. DPS in the table above is for a group that gives me 2 combo points per second.

Based from the spreadsheet, the best rotation for vHaT with LR 2c/s would be SnD -> Eviscerate? The rupture is basically not needed?

I don't know how you getting that because I see a loss of more than 100 dps from dropping rupture out of my rotation in pre-3.1 gear. I am sure the difference is gonna be even bigger by the time you get 4 piece t8.

Thanks for answering. I guess I should spec full blood spatter instead of ruthlessness?
I'm very new to this, so how exactly is your rotation with this spec?

HaT thread is probably a better place for novice questions like that. You definitely don't drop ruthlessness, it's one of the stronger talents for HaT. The rotation is to keep snd and rupture up, eviscerating at 4 combo points or more and staying below energy cap. To burn energy if you are about to get energy capped, you use eviscerate as long as you have 3 combo points or more, otherwise use a hemo. These combo point thresholds are tentative till we figure out best rotation for 3.1, but that's what worked best for me in 3.0.x.

Just a quick note, I've found that reducing minimum combo points for SnD to 1 with the standard setup (spec/gear) doesn't reduce DPS. In fact, it did increase by 2, which is too small to be of any statistical importance.
However, I'm not sure if and how GCD are included in the sheet,, so there still might be a negative impact, depending on how GCD capped you are.

Compared to the previous results posted in 3.1 thread, the changes include the 2 bug fixes, using full t8 instead of just 4 pieces, using agility gems as fillers for all specs and also adding a vHaT spec with LR currently appears to be highest dps spec out of all specs.

Looking into the dual spec feature and trying to find maximum useage of it.
Of the combat spec listed would not 18/51/2 have a advantage in fights with a big amount of FOK damage on adds? I am basing this assumption on the PPM poison mechanic.
I am planning to use one spec with FOK glyphed for additional damage for boss encounters with a big amount of adds and one spec more focused on singeltarget DPS.

While running some simulation with the spreadsheet and my current gear, i still dont understand why a standard mutilate template 51/13/7 with TtT is still better (1,4% precisely) on 3.1 then a 51/13/7 with Master Poisoner.
I was under the impression that MP with the modification was better now.
My simulations were running with glyph of mutilate, rupture and HfB.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

I am having some difficulty with the 3.1 spreadsheet. Whenever I equip the Grim toll, in either trinket slot I get a REF error. The error does not go away by removing the trinket. Any ideas how to fix that?

I'll answer the spreadsheet questions first. FoK question is interesting too, but my gut feeling is if you want a spec to maximize FOK damage, you may not even need to go down to 51 in combat, perhaps a 40/31 mix of assassination and combat would work better for FOK alone ( 40/31/0)
Sp00n: I noticed low sensitivity of DPS values to number of combo points of SND in the past for HaT specs. The reason is when you select 1 in combo point restriction field, it is only a lower bound, it says use SND if you have at least 1 combo point. In reality with 2 combo points per second income you are most likely doing 3+ SND's. You can check it in the Combat tab. As far as GCD capping, I don't think with 2 crit/second you are GCD capped, you have to wait for combo points and balance your energy, so you not spamming eviscerate on every GCD. (Although if you set minimum eviscerate combo points to 1 or 2, you will probably start spamming, but then you will quickly run out of energy because of reduced reletless strikes procs).
Pepperry: You are having a weird problem that as far as I know noone else observes. My best guess is you did not change trinkets properly. If you simply select 1 next to one trinket, hit delete (clear contents) that one. Then put a 1 next to grim toll, everything should be working fine. #REF problems appear when you actually delete a cell as opposed to clearing contents. So since I cannot see what you did to your version of the spreadsheet, it's best that you redownload it and try again. Let me know in a PM if you continue having this problem after you redownload the spreadsheet.
Shadowrom: You are probably using an older version. Use 3.1g, and make sure you load proper mutilate DPS Strat settings.
P.S. the file does not work in Open Office because it does not support VBA, I will add this comment in the main post. Since I do not have much experience with OO, I cannot even tell you if it's feasible to create a working OO version of this simulation.

The following is a list of repairs:

@ Mav,
Works, just redownloaded it. I got a good connection so idk why it would have messed up before. Although I think what may have messed up the file was that M$ Excel was set to high security and may have removed the VB elements for saftey reasons just incase anyone else has those issues.

Quite likely, but I think it's unlikely that trash will be pure FoK spam. A trash spec will be one that can do reasonable single target damage, but also works well when switching to FoK. So, more about the glyphs than the spec.

I googled this error since I have no idea what causes it. Best idea I got was related to corrupted file download. So retry the download.

The spreadsheet seems to suggest that 2 points in MP and 1 in TtT is better than 3 in either or any other combination. I've also heard this elsewhere, from people who selected this spec and have raided with it. Anyone here have any experience trying it out either via simulations or real combat?

The difference between MP and TtT is not statistically significant when I try it. Btw I also noticed that in Aldriana's spreadsheet, TtT is better than MP, so something must be going on if you have a fast enough OH and can stack DP fast, the advantage of the extra 45% chance to apply has lower value up to the point when TtT pulls ahead.
