While I'm not sure where you're seeing 8%, you'll quickly see that percentage go down with gear. On most of my parses I see DMC proc accounting for about 2.5%.

I'm sure Ashunera will have an updated BiS list for Tuesdays patch but just wanted to throw out something with the priority list. Ziff has updated the alpha version with a couple of new priorities and this list is what I am currently running with my melee/melee setup.

Priority
Searing Totem when one is not active
Lava Lash
Flame Shock with Unleash Flame buff
Maelstrom Weapon x5 Lightning Bolt
Unleash Elements
Stormstrike
Earth Shock
Feral Spirit
Searing Totem

and I find that allowing it to refresh searing totem when there are 5 ticks or less remaining with that priority list to be optimal. Shouldn't make a huge dps difference but ST_0 is a new feature in EnhSim and it does mirror actual play style so should have a place in the BiS list.

I'm not sure if this will change the decisions on which second ring to use, but you can, for some reason, use both the heroic and non-heroic versions of the Lightning Conductor Band (Lightning Conductor Band - Item - World of Warcraft , Lightning Conductor Band - Item - World of Warcraft) at the same time. Just thought this could be useful information.

It's not a huge deal but your item links to Necklace of Strife and both of the Crul'korak, the Lightning's Arc's are not showing the Heroic versions.

My advice is never gem 40 Hit and don't ever get the Mastery Enchant on Boots. But since you forgot three Enchants this isn't real BiS anyway.

It also does not occur to me why we won't sim with 2/3 in Improved Shields instead of 2/2 in Improved Fire Nova. Even there isn't one Single Target Encounter on the actual content Fire Nova isn't worth it's use. The only fight the use of Fire Nova may worth it is Maloriak HM. Therefore it is escapist to simulate our DPS with 2/2 in Improved Firenova. 2/3 in Improved Shields will provide at least nearly 100 DPS.

I am still using the spec from the OP, for comparison purposes.

This set simulates out to:
~25660

chardev 8 - Cataclysm Beta

CharDev does not calculate the spell hit correctly. There is 1757 rating on this set, which gives 17.15% spell hit.

I found this set by simply calculating EP values from the current BiS set in the OP and then plugging those into the Mr. Robot site. I also forced DMC: Hurricane to be selected as one of the trinkets - that one is hard to estimate with EP values:

Note: If you follow this link, the Mr. Robot site uses a default enhance spec with only 1/3 elemental precision, that is why you will see the hit % on Mr. Robot showing a little lower than what I use in the config file.

I don't see how you're getting better results using "of the Stormblast" gear, especially when you have room to reforge for Expertise on the chest instead of the belt when, if you were using the "of the Windstorm" belt, you'd gain Mastery instead of Hit that you're reforging out of anyway.
You also reforged from Haste to Crit on the neck when, in that setup, you could've reforged for Expertise on the neck and then gained Mastery on the Lightning Conductor Band instead of gaining Crit on the neck.

Also, the talent setup is not up for debate unless it changes the gear, gem, glyph or reforge setup. If you can prove or provide strong evidence it does have an impact, I'll change it, but otherwise, the talents are being left as they are. If you want to trade your AoE for ~100 single target dps, that's a perfectly acceptable thing to do. The reason I'm not going to be flexible on this is I'd really rather not support a build that doesn't have Shamanistic Rage or Ancestral Swiftness in it, despite the fact putting those points in Improve Shields would also show a dps increase. It's the same reason this list will always be spell hit capped - I'm not going to support a setup where there's a chance you'll miss a Wind Shear. Best in slot, in my mind, does not mean highest possible single target dps while ignoring everything else you may need to do. The line between maximizing damage and simply being unrealistic with your build needs to be drawn somewhere, so I drew it there.

As for missing enchants, I'm not sure how that happened but it will be updated.

2/3 Improved Shields over 2/2 Improved Fire Nova puts your setup over the setup in the OP (which is credited to Duscha).

I tried 4 or 5 different gem and reforge strategies using your gear list and couldn't find anything that puts [Relic of Golganneth] over [Sandshift Relic] using both 2/3 Shields and 2/2 FN. That's not to say such a setup doesn't exist, it very well might, but I couldn't find any.

Sample EP values taken from my setup rank them something like this:

Sandshift = 413.88
Golganneth = 402.16

That's with Sandshift reforged Crit -> Mastery (expertise would make it better still,) and Golganneth reforged Haste -> Hit (best possible reforge). This does need to be taken with a grain of salt - certain gear setups may force you away from Sandshift due to having high hit, and the value of each item will fluctuate depending on the rest of your gear and how they are reforged, but with the flexibility of reforging, Sandshift is more likely to be better in most setups.

This does need to be taken with a grain of salt - certain gear setups may force you away from Sandshift due to having high hit, and the value of each item will fluctuate depending on the rest of your gear and how they are reforged, but with the flexibility of reforging, Sandshift is more likely to be better in most setups.

A few days ago Rouncer linked on the discussion thread to a reforging tool made over on the Rogue forums that iterates through all your possible reforges to find your optimum--it tries to reforge to your exact hit/exp caps (or over depending on what value it is given for hit/exp after cap) while simultaneously maximizing your highest valued secondary stats. It's all stuff that someone really could figure out on their own, but it's a handy bit of software for catching things that may have been missed or not seen. Unfortunately it wont iterate through gems, but it could be of some use to you in finding your optimums for these gear tests:

New poster here, but here's something I don't quite get : why on earth is it a dps upgrade to gem for hit instead of agi? It seems to make more sense to this logical mind that reforging for hit and gemming for agi would be a better combination, seeing how much better agi is than the other secondaries? That's why I don't understand why the BIS list has a bunch of +hit gems in it. Sorry if this is answered in the thread, I didn't see it.

You get the socket bonuses for Agility and you can reforge for more Mastery.

Yes but in at least two of those examples you socketed a blue gem for +10 agi instead of putting a 40 agi gem in there, losing 30 agi and gaining 40 mastery, after reforging. isn't 30 agi > 40 mastery?
