The buff is retained, I tried switching to my resto spec. I was actually a bit surprised that the buff didn't go away when I swapped glyphs either. I reported it as a bug, as it kinda defeats the purpose of it. This doesn't work for Flametongue, though, as the 2% crit buff went away the moment I changed specs.

Also, extensive testing shows that glyph of ToW is badass. I regularly achieved higher dps than with Lava, not even testing AoE, which is a clear win with ToW anyway. On the other hand, replacing CL with Frost Shock is a waste of time. Even with Glyph of Shocking, the dps drop is significant. Nothing really surprising there, but just making sure in practice
