Since WD+WD was a thing to talk about, I figure 1.80 Delay BUT 461 Spellpower and 1,7% Hit might also do it.
It would be great if someone with more experience could put this throu a Sim.
I don't know Zyla, I used your chardev page and put in the deadly totem of indomitability and sim spit back 5840.91 dps, maybe the sim just likes you better or something. What was interesting was I made one change, I swapped in a Wrathstrike for the Calamities Grasp and it gave me 5890.43 dps.
This shouldn't matter in a week or so since the new Windfury Glyph will favor CG over WS by a very significant margin.
The dps displayed here is lower than the gearset that Tronso indicated, but it does not include profession perks, while Tronso included Jewelcrafting. I also have the luxury of having no need to spec into Unleashed Rage, Windfury Totem, or Convection, so I dropped the remaining points into Call of Flame and Reverberation.
Changed the length of a fight to 3min. chardev.org - a World of Warcraft Character Planner - x
Same gear - if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to post them.
(found some mistakes etc so had to do it a few times, but all went well - was listening to Nirvana unplugged ^^)

change those to 11.95 since chardev adds the 6% gained from Dual Wield Specialization
Thank you for this, the 6% hit reduction resulted in a 200dps loss, the extra guardian elixir removal was 10-20, amount of bloodlust casters didn't change a thing
With [Totem of Hex] I got 5895.18
With [Deadly Gladiator's Totem of Indomitability] 5916.39
Realistically almost no enh shaman is ever going to get the Deadly Gladiator's Totem of Indomitability as it requires 2030 rating to get and the hateful/savage versions of that totem don't exist in game so the next best choice is the totem of hex
Reagarding that profile, what's your point in having 18% (15% gear 3% misery) spellhit while 17% is the cap? The other thing is did you try es glyph instead ls I found it superior in my previous sims.

You get spellhit by hit rating, therefore the hit rating still grants melee hit chance
It does but after reaching spell hit cap it's value goes down drastically so you'd better off stacking ap instead of it.
With this list I'm getting 1.8 EP value of hit even after spell hit cap, I also had to add one yellow gem to activate the meta gem, the reason I went with the exp/hit gem

From the ptr patch notes:
Glyph of Earth Shock - Renamed to Glyph of Shocking - Reduces the global cooldown triggered by your shock spells by 0.5 sec. (Old - Reduced the GCD triggered by Earth Shock by 1 second)

A few things I didn't do for this run was adjust the boss miss rate, and I didn't depress the crit % fields, so that it would be more comparable to your run.
I'll include the results from the thunder_capacitor run so people can review it if they like.

Ok seem to be getting somewhere at defining a base config file. If people can double check the original post to check the adjustments suggested for each weapon to ensure I've got them right then we can run the base config and start swapping weapons and simming to see where we are with which gives best dps.
I'm slightly reluctant at this stage to do too much work as I'm aware that 3.0.8 will have significant changes and so it might be better to hold off for a 3.0.8 version of the sim?
Author of ShockAndAweEnhancement Shaman max dps addon
Please use the EnhSim by Ziff & others to simulate what gear, priorities etc are the best dps. You can use ShockAndAwe to export your paperdoll stats to EnhSim.

While I don't blame you at all if you waited, but I have a feeling 3.0.8 will have a bigger difference on mainhands than offhands.
Based on my current gear, I simmed, Weapon @DPS Amount, with the following results, which were a bit surprising.
NOTE: I just used my current stats, and plugged in the weapon speed and DPS, w/o adjusting for the specific stats each weapon granted, so take it with a grain of salt.
The Stray @4642 > Webbed Death @4637 > Librarian's Papercutter @4611 > Angry Dread @4607
Double Dread @4571
Basically, to me this says there is no one BEST offhand, and simming is going to be a requirement, as everyone seems to be running a different result. FWIW, this is with 4pc t7 for the set bonus, but very little haste gear other than that (3.8% passive haste).

Of course, the question is do we understand why we are getting the results we have so far?

Which results? Webbed Death being so high? It's because faster weapons do better flametongue damage, and slower weapons do better windfury. The more haste/spellpower/hit you have the better a fast offhand is going to be.
Same logic applies to using a fast caster dagger as a mainhand. Your spellpower gets so high that you end up hitting for 500/1000 with both weapon's flametongue. Combine that with the fact that you can get Webbed Death down to a 0.5 attack speed, and that's over 2000dps from your offhand flametongue on Loatheb. (Not to mention the extra huge shocks/lightning)

We've been over this a lot by now, but the sim is incorrect when the speeds are matched because of wonky flurry mechanics in the sim.

The sim's flurry results match what I see live with matched weapon speed if I make sure my weapons are synced. In my opinion the sim is correct.
Except that they are not applicable to real raiding conditions since they become unsynced very easily and to resync them is a huge dps loss while you are involved in a boss fight.
