It is possible to use TotemTimers along with Yata for additional functionality.
Between the two, I always have two totems in each school that I can grab without thinking about it (using preset button assignments). I use the TT timers because they are somewhat superior, and I use the right-click function on the Yata bar to recall my totems.
Because you seldom need more than 2 totems per school available to you, this allows you to get pretty much all your totem functionality on-screen and easy to use in 8 buttons, with timers glued on.
In addition to using it to hide various functions that might otherwise clutter your UI or keybindings, you can use it to cast. I put my lightning bolt and interrupts on-click for my scroll-button on my mouse. I set the area where my mouse generally hovers to throw lightning bolt (most frequently cast spell) and if I need to earthshock or windshock I just jerk my mouse over or up and click the same button. Anyway, something you can play with to see if it fits your playstyle.
Can anyone here or know of someone that can code addons? The reason I ask is I would REALLY like to see a Elemental version of Shock and Awe. The author said it could be done if we Ele's found someone that could code it.
So all of you Elemental Shammy's out there that would really love to see a Ele version of Shock and Awe, please track someone down that can code it and get ahold of the author.
In the Ui and Macro's section on Elitest forum has the Author and his mod for discussion there.
Thanks and I really think us Ele's would really benefit from this idea.

Although definitely useful to export data for simulators and such, just out of curiosity what are you looking to track besides the Flame Shock Uptime? Ability Cool downs? You can pretty much just achieve this using DoTimer and OmniCC.
I have tried a number of shaman mods and TotemTimers Ive found to be the best with regards to screen real estate, most of the others take up more room than I am willing to give them.
I agree though that having alternative totems being set would help with it, I havent checked the options on it lately to see if there is anyway of doing this but I do know that when you are mousing over it using the numeric keys relates to the totems so if you know the order you can drop a non standard one without having to expand the menu, and the order is adjustable. I am pretty sure that you can recall the totems individually at least using TT, you just cant pull them all at once.

See the first post about EventHorizon. It basically does the same job.
MyUI
I guess I don't consider my UI to be cluttered, I have hotbars that are hidden with keybinds. I know what they are so I dont really need to have them visible. Things that don't have cooldowns. I'll list the mods I use though. I would prolly use TotemTimers if they could replace my castsequence macros. Being able to just bash 1 key 4 times for my totem set.
Below is not all of my addons, ones that I mainly use for Shaman stuff
Addons:
Align
ClassTimer
ElkBuffBars <-- If you don't have this, you are missing out
MikScrollingBattleText
RatingBuster
SAA
Pawn

Totem timers creates a macro in your character specific macros that updates itself whenever you update your totem sets. the macro is called TT, Works like a charm.
TotemTimers can be set to update your macro (out of combat of course) whenever you cast a different totem out of combat, or when you rightclick a totem in the pop out menus.
The amount of totems we have available is unwieldy, so I suggest any shaman to get a totem management mod. I personally prefer Yata - Yet Another Totem Addon. It's slim and efficient.
Isn't YATA dead now? The author has said he won't play WotLK way back in October and no one has stepped up to pick up development/maintenance. If you use YATA, I'd suggest looking for an alternative because it probably won't work in 3.1.
First, I use TotemTimers and it is my favorite totem mod (lots of options and minimal screen space).
Second, thank you Bink for pointing out Event Horizon. I've been using a heavily configured DoTimer (great mod for tracking CDs, dots, etc...), but that Event Horizon module is fantastic.
edit: because verbs are useful in the English language.
A few mods i find very usefull on my elemental shaman.
Shaman specific mods
Totemic - Very usefull floating toolbar that houses all the totem buttons in their own school, updates itself as you switch specs *eg gain mana tide or totem of wrath* to the left of these it shows via a small yellow bar the time left on totems.
Shaman friend - mentioned earlier in this thread, very usefull for notification of your shields failing, it also has a feature much like Shields up notating how many charges a shield has left.
I belive a feature called ES tracker is part of shaman friend but basically it makes a focus frame to whoever you cast ES onto, then gives an ES icon next to it, it also monitors shield numbers and time left. Allowing you to easily re-apply ES to your given target without having to switch current targeted and such.
Non specific shaman mods but overall a very usefull one. *if what kinda annoying at times*
Do timer - tracks CD's and current Buffs. by a moving bar located where you place it with a timer on it.
Showing you how long a Flame shock has left or food buffs, Totems and also ^the shaman self crit buff - i forget the name^
Tho for 25 man raids it can be kinda annoying .

Yata works perfectly fine on the PTR, it even had the cleansing totem in it's list. I believe someone also took the mod under his wings, I think Levva, though I think he's mostly preoccupied with RAWR and ShockAndAwe right now.
I used and loved YATA too, but some time ago it always broke when i was respeccing - i had to clear WTF and set it up again - this happened all the time i respecced.
I use a simple, yet effective addon to monitor my Shields called Shields up. It just places the number of charges left on your Shields on your screen. It's simple and you can customise it's position anywhere on the screen. I find it much easier than looking up at my buffs, or looking on my target when I am using Earth Shield.
TotemTimers also has shield tracking. The only thing it doesn't do is show you who has the Earth Shield. It also has these as buttons if you don't have keybinds for them (The ES button alone can be configured to cast on your target, target's target, self or focus depending on various clicks). In addition, it has a button for your weapon imbues, which I use as right and left click for Earthliving and Flametongue. TT really is the best totem mod out there and I've used a lot of them.
Also, Bink, I too have to extend my thanks for the mention of EventHorizon. I've been looking for something to do basically that for a long time now, since watching DotTimer is annoying for LvB cooldowns and OmniCC isn't precise enough for me.
I will toss out NeedToKnow as a generally helpful mod. I currently use it to show the duration of Flame Shock on my target or Tidal Waves on myself when Resto. I use this in conjunction with the previously mentioned Power Auras for different uses. (Of course, this has more application to other classes, such as my DK, but I have still found it immensely useful for my Shaman).
Another, in place of the time to execute, is TimeToDie. We use this to time Heroism about 90 seconds before the boss dies, which generally gets us into the execute range but Heroism will fade before the boss actually bites it.
Regarding this feature:
Would it actually be possible to code to have the spell icon that appears initially show up as soon as a global cool-down begins on the previous spell. Therefore giving your brain time to process seeing the symbol, recognising it, and knowing what hot key to press when the global CD finishes.
With something random like MW5, there may need to be a late change as a 5 proc occurs in the last few milliseconds before the global CD clears. If you miss the change, you can always fire it next action just same as when doing it manually.
As it is now, by the time the icon shows, it's already far too late to react to it.
Already present as a feature simply modify the user configurable timer - the default is warn when 0.25 sec left on GCD simply up this time for more warning - as I get older I find upping this value more useful for the reasons you mention

I have been posted as an author on YATA and will keep it updated if it needs it, so far it hasn't needed updating. It works fine on live - really must get round to test more stuff on PTR though, as was said I'm kinda busy.

Please use the EnhSim by Ziff & others to simulate what gear, priorities etc are the best dps. You can use ShockAndAwe to export your paperdoll stats to EnhSim.
I'd like to counter a post earlier stating that ShockAndAwe does not show cooldowns, because it does. As useful as the Priority frame can be in SAA, sometimes I prefer to simply watch the Cooldowns frame it has instead. It shows all your enhancement cooldowns as bars alongside one another, so IMO it's even more useful than the priority frame which recommends your next move. Handy for seeing when you have cooldowns expiring at almost exactly the same time. Sometimes you'll want to choose to use a specific ability first despite what the priority frame recommends.
It's interesting the number of people in this thread saying "I would use this addon if only it did X" where it actually already does X.
I would recommend if you haven't tried one of the commonly recommended mods in this thread in a while, to try it again. TotemTimers for example has a lot of features now that it did not several months ago, and in fact many features that were the sole reason for using another addon (such as before it included the enhancement tracker).
I'd like to recommend DrDamage and Visual Heals as well. Neither are Shaman specific mods, but together can be very useful (especially when used with a Unitframes like X-Perl that can show HP deficits). Dr. Damage displays real-time approximated damage values on all of your spell buttons, as well as approximated heal values.
Buffs and debuffs will immediately produce updated values, which can be very useful.
For example, without having to look at the top of my screen at my target's debuffs, I can tell if my Stormstrike charges are still on the target because of the increased damage value showing on the spell, and it's nice to see the actual change on my spell damages when I put down a FT totem, for example. It also makes it pretty easy to throw accurate heals in a pinch, especially when you can tell how many HP your target is down. (I know Enhance are not healers, but we all have to throw in a quick heal here and there at times.)
Lastly, the tooltips that DrDamage adds for mouseovers on spells are very detailed, showing coefficients, hit and crit percentages, number of casts until OOM, etc. Every theorycrafter should have this addon, IMO.
Visual Heals, while even more important for a dedicated healing class, is still useful when you want to cast self-heals or off-heals without worrying about over or under-healing. It displays beneath your cast bar a bar showing target health, and a visual representation of an approximated heal amount expected to hit the target. This is especially useful on targets rapidly dropping in health as it can help you gauge whether your next heal will need to be a Greater or Lesser.
Dual-Spec is fast approaching, and I think that multi-purpose addons are going to become much more popular. Spec-specific addons will need to be easily disabled or hidden when you change specs, or screen clutter and memory inefficiency is going to become an issue.
3.1 is going to pose a lot of problems for those of us who want to Dual-Spec and are attached to our addons...

Ive actually got a question regarding PowerAuras. Does anyone know if its possible to set it up where it will alert me if Thunderstorm is off CD, but only if im below say, 85% mana? So far Ive only been able to set it up for the off CD. Thanks in advance.
I really like the way TotemTimer shows cooldowns, as Icons with a countdown. I'm not a big fan of candybars. I have mine shown (combat only) and then I have the SAA priority icon right above that. That gives me a better feel for what SAA is going to do next. I often found my brain had committed to the wrong action and SAA would prompt me to something else than what I expected and my finger would already be committed to something. So this seems to give me better ability to predict what SAA thinks I should do next.
Candybars just never did it for me. I guess I already have so many with DBM and so on that I get lost trying to track too many.
I remember GC saying that 3.1 was supposed to bring around our long-awaited totem revamp that should include a lot of the abilities of these totem mods.....who knows if this is still the case since I've heard nothing of it since.
Bink would you mind condensing the links for these mods into your original posts with whatever descriptions people provide? Would make it much easier to spot mods that do much of the same thing and make a decision on which ones you'd like to use without reading through pages of other commentary.
I've been using Autobar's Shaman plug-in for managing totems on my shaman alt. It provides a bar with all of the shaman summons, totems (sorted by the four types), and weapon imbues that you can hover over and pick one if needed, while also displaying time left on the totem from the time of cast. However, it unfortunately does not track if a totem was destroyed, only when the time runs out for its duration.

Rather than use a different addon why not use ShockAndAwe's CD bars - I know ppl say the default bar sizes are rather large but you can scale them and shrink the widths to your own custom settings.
I find that the priority icon is only part of the equation, seeing the duration of GCD, SS, Shock & LL shows me what is likely to be up next so I can be ready. I'm anticipating the priority and things like MW_LB pops up as a warning and LS, ST, Magma are effectively - OOH OOH OOH you have a free GCD you can use.
