Thanks for the answer...I blame it on Yata not listing spell details on the tooltip!

I recently saw a UI somewhere, I think of a mage that displayed debuffs he needed on the mob with symbols he could place anywhere he liked. For example, I think he had Ebon Plaguebringer, Earth and Moon, Curse of Elements, Misery, ... and some personal debuffs aswell.

Does anyone know a good lightweight addon that would allow you to do this?

I'd prefer it if they were little icons of each of the spells that could be moved around individually or as a row/grid shown as highlighted if its active and faded if its not active, for example.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Just to be clear, an addon like NeedToKnow already does too much, I don't care about the duration from the spell and I don't care who's spell it is. I guess you could describe what I want as a very very very minimalistic debuff filter

EDIT2: Now that I've thought about it some more, I'll try and write my own addon, since what I want is something very very specific that there probably won't be any existing addon that can fulfill my needs. If anyone is intrested in an addon like this, just let me know.

The best debuff filter for my needs is Auracle. The mod lets you set up as much icons (or sets of icons) as you need and specify it for all the buffs/debuffs you want.

The advantage it has over many other debuff filters: Multiple debuffs can be asigned to one icon, so I can see if demo shout or demo roar is up with just one icon.

The downside of this system: there is no talent scanning included, so you won't now if an untalented debuff is up when a better, talentet debuff would be available in your raid.

For most characters, I have the debuffs (and somtimes debuffs) I'm responsible for very close to my toon, and all important debuffs somwhere at the bottom right of my screen, so I can check from time to time if all DPS keep their debuffs up.

for resto shamans who want to track Healing Way and/or Riptide without having to use TellMeWhen, HotCandy or NeedToKnow type add-ons, can add GridStatusHots to their Grid.

It makes it really easy to see the three (or four if glyphed) people currently buffed with your Riptide, time remaining on each so you know when to push CH through a particular person to consume the Riptide before it expires.

For what it's worth, it sounds like the mod you're talking about is NeedToKnow or TellMeWhen.

You could use Power Auras to display that information, making each debuff the exact same thing in the same part of the screen so they overlap when multiple are there. Similarly, Pitbull can do such things with DogTags. I know Supplicium did, who's UI I've tweaked for my own needs.

I've recently started using TotemTimers and love it. I only have one minor, visual issue with it that I was hoping someone could help with. In the Enhancement module, is there a way to switch the position of the icons? I have my keybinds set up in a way that makes intuitive sense to me (not to mention some habit--Earth Shock has been bound to the same key for nearly four years now, no matter what spec I happen to be playing), but the order of the cooldown icons is different. Even if it's not a setting that can be modified in the options, is there an easy modification to the lua that can be made to switch the icon positions without messing with the functionality?

Stand back! I'm going to try SCIENCE!

You are thinking of rFiler, sFilter, sFilter2, etc, from the RothUI and ALZA UI series. These mods are LUA edited only.

sFilter is a great addon. I use it for tracking shields, maelstrom weapon and stormstrike debuff. You can get it directly from the developer: sAdd-ons - Index.

I found only one fault with the sample configuration in sFilter.lua. If i remember correctly you have to use isMine="player" instead of isMine=1 since patch 3.1 is released.

I can post my config when i'm at home.

I find LunarSphere to be great for organizing our many totems and totem macros. It is fully customizeable but if you don't feel like customizing it from scratch when you first load it you can ask it to load a premade setup that you can edit to your taste.

The sFilter included in the ALZA UI Package should fix that issue.

after reading your post i decided that I wanted the same kind of addon. looking around i picked up satrina buff frames and i think i have been able to accomplish this.

ill point you to
Flowing
read about buff bar flowing and custom filters

after you read this page you are going to want to set up 2 custom buff bars. one bar will be the parent the other the child. in one of these bars set it up to monitor your buffs. im looking for ele oath, clearcasting, boomkin aura, tow, bloodfury and trinkets. Then the 2nd bar you set up will be a target debuffs (ebon, misery, coe, w/e).

ill pop a screenshot later today

GridStatusHots works nicely for resto Grid users (as the earlier poster noted), but I've recently been going old school - Healbot Continued includes native tracking of HoTs and shields right on the bars, allowing tracking of WS (self), ES and RT with charges and timers. It tracks active casts only, unfortunately, so ELW or Forethought Talisman-style trinket HoTs will not appear.

Looking for the perfect mod

I currently use Event Horizon since there is no Elemental shaman version of Shock and Awe (that I know of). Really, it's not quite as pretty, but works great with the exception of ONE thing... time. I would really like to see a countdown timer in addition to the bar to let me know if I have enough time on my LvB cooldown for another LB (vs. only time for a CL).

So... two part question: Is there another mod that's currently better than Event Horizon, or (second half of the question): Is there a mod that will show a count down timer on the button that includes milliseconds? I have one currently that does seconds, but there's obviously a big difference between knowing you have between 1 and 2 seconds and knowing you have exactly 1.85 seconds or 1.2 seconds.

Once you get used to EventHorizon, you'll be able to figure that out visually.

OmniCC now includes an option to display tenths of a second once it hits something like the 3 second mark.

Thanks! I guess that's what I get for not reading patch notes (I already had the latest version). This is exactly what I needed.

Aye, of course. Go to Interface>TotemTimers>Timers1 - there, in the main window you can set up order of totems being shown as well as you can pick option whether you want certain totem to be added to castsequence macro or not. At least if I understood you correctly and you want to set up certain order for water, earth, etc totems.
Can't find options to change the order how Ankh CD/Sets, Shields and weapon buffs are displayed, but personally it doesn't concerns me at all.

I'm not sure you can do this with eventhorizon, but for timer needs I've been using PowerAuras. It's a little overkill for just timers, and kinda long to figure out how to set it up properly but once gone the initial headache it's great, and it can be of great use for a number of other shaman needs (not missing when your weapons buffs are down, knowing when you're not in range of your totems, knowing when you're soon out of charge on watershield when resto...) in HUD-like fashion, without having to go pick infos all around in your UI or to add more one-task addons.

I've been using EventHorizon ever since Bink mentionned it. Only had to tweak the config file a little to re-order the bars so that it makes more sense to me (personnal preference tweak). Once you're past the period of getting used to it, it just rocks.

My only wish related to this addon would be that a second vertical bar (similar to the one for GCD) shows across all lines when your current cast time is gonna finish. I know I can see it with the green bar showing when a said cast will end, but having a line would be sharper than mentally reporting it to other lines. Anyone knows if that's possible through the config file ? (Not like it's a can't-go-without request tho)
