Many addons support the use of 'profiles', which are just a way to save the configuration of the addon with a name and recall those settings later (or on a different character). However, I am not aware of any way to extend that concept to cover the entire collection of whatever addons you happen to be using in one single swappable profile.
Someone, in this or one of the other UI threads, mentioned that they just have two separate World of Warcraft installations on their computer, and fire up one if they are going to use UI #1, or fire up the other to use UI #2. It's not the most convenient scheme, but it does the trick.

I suppose, upon consideration, that an addon wouldn't likely have the capability to move addon and configuration files around in the WoW game directory. And since WoW loads all these addons when you start the game, you'd have to load all the addons you'd need at start-up and have an in-game feature that would toggle off certain addons when you swap your Dual Spec.
Hmm... I may just brush off my VB skills then and write a small 3rd-party app that will swap a set of folders in your WoW directory and rename them for this purpose. Seems like this would already have been done by someone though. It'd require a restart of your WoW to load the seperate set of addons and configs, but it should do what I need it to do.

Addon Control Panel - Addons - Curse
The way this works is pretty easy yet extremely useful. When you hit 'esc' to bring your little menu, there will be a new option called 'addons.' When you click addons, you basically see the addon list that you normally see at your login screen. Under this menu, you can create addon sets - name one resto and the other enhancement. When you dual spec swap to enhancement, then you activate your enhancement addon set then click a button that basically just reloads your ui - now you'll have all of your enhancement addons activated and the rest turned off (based on your addon sets).
It's pretty useful for turning addons on and off during raids as well as it bypasses the need for relogging.

I am looking for a mod that adds maelstorm charges to a bar/my target like combo points for rogues. Any suggestions? I had been using totem timer's enhancement HUD. It was nice, but a little clunky.
Thank you for any suggestions.

I guess I am gonna give Grid+Clique a go for healing and see how I like it. In a way I have become used to healbot and havent really thought of changing but i do wanna try if it can really make healing more efficient for me.
Sadly im still waiting on pitbull to be updated since mine only shows black frames where the old pitbull UI used to be and shows the wow UI as well.

I wonder, is it possible (for those addons that does not have "profiles"), to simply copy your addon folder, rename it and use the 2 different folders for each sets? Is there any way to make this possible?
That would be nice, because you would not have to change profiles for each individual addon each time you change your spec . I guess it requires you to change a few more things than the name of the addon folder, but it is probably still doable right?

No I haven't updated for 3.1 - everything in my UI works except for YATA. I got my hands on an outdated version that was working for a few other guild members, but I couldn't get it to work for me. Replaced it with another mod for now.
As for my UI upload, as soon as we kill Yogg for the week I'll probably sit down and revamp my UI a little bit and then possibly upload the new version (most changes will just be cosmetic - I've been looking at the same UI for 6 months now) but the overall functionality / layout will probably remain the same.

Sixthy, I've adopted your UI, and was able to tweak it to the point that it works fairly well with my Enhancement spec now as well.
I only have 1 issue right now; my Traveler's Tundra Mammoth has been reworked to instead of having a vehicle bar to having a "siege tank" style frame with the vendors showing as occupying the seats on the vehicle. This frame is being disabled by one of the addons in your UI (as it works in my old UI) and I can't figure out which. I've told Bartender to allow Blizzard's vehicle UI (tested working at the Argent Tournament grounds) but the vehicle passenger frame still refuses to show.
I've done enough tweaking of your UI to know my way around the addons pretty well by now, but I'm stumped. Currently I have to switch my UI back to my old setup in order to kick my vendors and take passengers on my Mammoth (and since I am constantly helping my altaholic gf level her lowbies, this happens frequently).
If you have any insight into this, I'd appreciate it.
PS: If anyone knows a way to get Pitbull's Player and Target frames to show a health deficit value instead of a health percentage, let me know. I couldn't find this anywhere as an option, and haven't been able to find a module that adds this capability. I'm used to seeing health on X-Perl's frame as xx/xx | -xx, which I prefer.
Note: I started a lengthy paragraph into how I went about tweaking Sixthy's UI to have it perform seamlessly with my favored Enhance mods, but I think I'll leave it out for the time being. Most of the changes were fairly minor in any case. Everyone has their own preferences and preferred addons; however if anyone is interested in details in how I specifically went about modifying his UI for Enhance / Resto synergy, shoot me a PM.

It looks like it's Mana Tide that is causing an issue (if those other shamans were non-Resto, that might explain why it worked for them). Thanks to a comment on the Curse site, I made the following change to blacklist Mana Tide and it seemed to fix the issues for me with it not showing up.
In TotemData.lua change:
local Yata_SpellBlacklist = {GetSpellInfo(36936)} -- Totemic Call
to
local Yata_SpellBlacklist = {GetSpellInfo(36936), GetSpellInfo(16190)} -- Totemic Call, Mana Tide
It requires you to keybind Mana Tide (which it looks like you do anyway), but at least everything else is working.

Player -> Other -> Text -> Health.. There is an option, that probably is set to smart or percent or something else, just change it to absolute short. If you want it to show "| -missing hp" you can tweak it a little with dogtags, using the costum option ..
That is if you are using Pitbull 3 ofcourse, i don't know about the new beta version.

Ah, I figured it wasn't a feature since I was looking under Player -> Bars -> Health and didn't see it there. Thanks!
I was hoping to have it show hostile targets as a percentage (nice to know when certain bosses are hitting a certain percentage of health) and friendly targets as a health deficit.
But now that I know where that option is, I'll fiddle with it when I get back home from work... I suppose I should have been more thorough with my search of the features.
I'm also interested in learning what addons will be modified to work better with dual-spec swaps.
I noticed that the latest version of ShockAndAwe placed a text notification on my screen after I changed to my alternate spec that stated something to the effect of "ShockAndAwe has noticed that you've changed specs. Do you want to disable ShockAndAwe?" but wasn't accompanied by a Yes or No option window, so I wasn't sure how to reply.
I look foward to seeing how UIs and addons change to adapt to dual spec switching.

Edit 5.6.: Upload here.
Having both raidframes, player and target left and right to the central grid frame is really working well for me. This thread has helped me a lot moving some clutter to the bottom of the screen. Actual WIP, with oUF_slim:
http://i40.tinypic.com/hwel50.jpg
edit: explanation of the functionality. The original post was a silly screenshot post that has no place in this thread.
-Castbar of player and target are at the same hight, thus watching my latency and e.g. boss casting his devastating ability very easy. The castbar is included in the oUF_slim layout, so no additional memory is consumed for an addon like quartz/azcastbar.
-Target frame shows buffs and just the debuffs I cast myself. This prevents cluttering up my screen with warlock dots and the whole rest of abilities that won't give me vital information. Debuffs on myself will pop up over my player frame, thus I spot them much easier than having them somewhere in the upper right of my screen.
-Addons like Coolline/forte exorcist offer an excellent way of handling cooldowns. I myself mostly prefer just simple actionbar buttons with OmniCC (the four buttons on the left side of my character). If I spec elemental I switch out those spells for Lavaburst, CL, Elemental Mastery. I prefer having some self healing abilities like hearthstones close to my character as well, if I play elemental healthpot and -stone are keybound.
-Grid has a very basic layout, just showing earth shields, debuffs I can cure and gridstatusraiddebuff. I'm very curious about other resto shamans grid layouts. As DPS I turn of grid and activate the built in oUF raidframes.

Fullmoon
I have recently started using a mod called FullMoon which has an enhance and elemental function for tracking our most used abilities.
For elemental it tracks: LvB CD, FS CD, Shields, EM CD, TS CD, and CL CD. It is all displayed in a pretty small and compact interface and I have grown to be comfortable with its usage.
It is available for download at curse and has been updated for 3.1.
Hope this helps somebody.

This is my UI out of combat, with full health and so on.
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/774...1909223748.jpg
This is the UI at 100% visibility.

UI in combat
http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/2442/...1909232244.jpg
When a target is selected, the bar on the 3rd bar on the right shows health, with the outer frame showing my threat relative to the tanks. The left most bar shows only mana. An additional horizontal bar pops up above and to the far right corner of the existing horizontal bar thats much smaller than the other bars, tracking my target's cast bar and what spell is being cast.
In a vehicle, two additional small vertical bars in the left corner of the box, tracking vehicle health/energy.
When I have a focus selected, it's health appears below the horizontal bar, with the target of my focus showing right above that. TellMeWhen is right above the horizontal bar, and NeedtoKnow is right below where the focus frame would be. I use n2k to track my flame shock, and tmw to track, chain lightning, shock, thunderstorm, and lava burst cds.
The green bar tracks my health on the main bar, and on it's frame shows my GCD. The horizontal bar tracks my cast time on it's main bar, and the tank's threat on its frame. My mana bar also tracks my cast time, in case I'm being blind.
Target buffs/debuffs are tracked to the right of the target health/energy bars, and my buff/debuffs are tracked to the left of my health/mana.
I'll try and get a picture of the UI in combat so that it makes more visual sense.
I've been lazy, but will likely swap to KGPanels over skinner. I use the same general layout for my Paladin, so there a couple of empty spaces that get filled up while tanking and vice versa, but I'd like to do some shuffling around when I get the time and remember.

Here is my current UI. I like it to be clean but give me all the information I need visually and aurally. I have since moved to Elkano's Buff Bars since this SS but visually not much has changed.
Secksytimez UI 21Apr09 - Link Here
I use XynUI as a base which is modified by the LUA to save memory.
I add Ora, Dominoes, Omen, Decursive, Minimap Button Frames, QBar, TotemTimers, Quartz and the shaman mod is Full Moon.

I've gone through many UIs since I started playing, but the UI I have set up for my Shaman, I am very happy with thus far. It has all the information I typically need, but doesn't take up too much screen room, which is typically my problem. Its pretty functional for shaman in general, though a dedicated healer would likely want grid placed in a more visible area. Since dual speccing resto I have left Grid unlocked, so clicking the "Grid" anchor in the top-left lets me drag it to a more central location if I want. My UI has changed a little over time, it used to be more flashy and whatnot, but memory usage and patches has cauesd this to tone down a bit. I typically use Pitbull over X-Perl, but did not want to take the time to re-configure it after after a recent issue forced me to delete my WTF folder.
The setup is fairly simple, really. The only thing that I feel is worth noting is that I don't use any of the typical Shaman addons. I never found a totem addon that I was happy with. Instead I use Satrina Buff Frames. Totems are represented by a bar between my main action bar and my totem bars (which are just placed on separate bars from Bartender4, nothing fancy). Weapon Imbues and active shields appear as big bars near chat frame/player frame, more so I never forget to renew them. Buffs 30s and shorter appear in a row next to the minimap, I don't tend to look at them usually, but I want to be able to see those buffs if I need without them clogging up my main buff bar below the map. Debuffs also pop up as oversized icons along the top-middle of the screen, in line with the top of my HuD so they are easily noticable. All that is done with Satrina Buff Frames, you could say I rather like the addon. Oh, and it has expiry warnings for all totems and weapon imbues...
The only other noteworthy thing is the circles, which represent Maelstrom stacks in a very visual manner. This is a module of IceHud that I rather like.

An addon that can be useful for setting up your UI is Align. It's a very simple addon that just displays a grid on your screen to help with spacing your UI well. For anyone who's as OCD as I am about spacing and having things centered, it can be a life saver.
Here's an example of Align enabled while I was shamelessly attempting to emulate Sixthy's UI yesterday:
One piece of my UI that I think helps to keep information centralized is a HUD. My preference is IceHUD. As a healer, it's not as necessary since Grid will show you most of the information you care about anyway. However, while DPSing, especially as enhance, I find it to be very disadvantageous if I have to look away from the mob that I'm fighting. It's too easy to let them slip out of melee range if there's any kind of movement.
Having a HUD allows me to keep both my and my target's health/mana easily visible in the center of the screen. Without having to look anywhere outside of my normal field of vision I can easily tell when my target's about to die and begin positioning myself for the next mob. Here's an example screenshot from a quick OS 10 run last night. I was healing this run, so, it won't really demonstrate what my enhancement UI looks like very well. It's not a very good shot; I'll try to take a better one tonight.

My own personalized UI. Here's a list of my add-ons:
Pitbull - Player/Target/Focus frames
Grid - Raid frames, too lazy to spend hours to get Pitbull raid frames as nice as Grid.
Dominos - Action bar mod
Quartz - Very highly recommended cast bar mod for player/target/focus.
TotemTimers - For the castsequence macro, the EnhCD display, and the shield/weapon buffs tracker. (Also for time on totems???)
ShockAndAwe - I love the priority frame, but i prefer the TT EnhCD display. In a hectic raid situation it can remind me to refresh my shield or magma totem if i lost track of it. (It fills the space above my TT EnhCD display in the middle of my action bar setup)
Class Timer - Keeps track of procs such as Flurry, Unleashed Rage, trinkets, and the Stormstrike debuff time.
Shaman Friend - Announces what spell you interrupt, what spell you ground with Grounding Totem, and what spells you Purge. Nifty for raiding, must have for PvP. Can set announce to be personal, or in any form of chat.
Opie - I recommend this to every single person who plays WoW. DL it.
Simple Minimap - Allows you to adjust the minimap.
WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) - One of my favorite mods, it detaches whispers from your chat log and has them pop up on a separate IM style window.
Eepanels2 - Puts the final touch on my UI, it allows you to create panels to make your UI look professional.
Scrolling Combat Text - Allows you to choose what to display on screen with SCT and allows you to choose where you want the information to appear. Supplement it with Scrolling Combat Text Damage (SCTD), a separate add-on for damage display.
Prat - Chat log mod.
EavesDrop - Simplified chat log in bottom right.
Button Facade - Changes the skin of my buttons, download skins in addition to the base Button Facade mod at WoWInterface
RatingBuster - Breaks down stats such as crit or expertise into percentages and specific values.
Pawn - Plug in your EP values and it will sum up the total value on a piece of gear. Very nice for deciding what is an upgrade and what is not.
Fontain - Modifies the font of all text in the game, from chat to tooltips.
CooldownCount - Puts a number on a button to display it's remaining cooldown. (not shown in SS)
TipTac - Customizes tooltips. Allows you to choose how they are located depending on what you are highlighting.
Aloft - Customizes nameplates. You have to get the new Beta version of this from WoWInterface. Curse only has an old version that no longer works.
BigWigs - Boss mods.
Omen - Threat.
Recount - Meters.
Will be glad to answer any questions.
edit: I wish i knew about Align before i spend so long on my UI. Would have saved me a lot of time with my face against my screen, moving my mouse as if it were a scalpel. >_<

Whoops, it's been a few days since I checked this thread. I'll post my modified version of Sixthy's UI either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon.
Still trying to find out why my Vehicle passenger frame refuses to show even after disabling everything in just about every addon that hides Blizzard frames... I'm at the point where I might have to go through addons one by one enabling and disabling until I find the culprit, unless anyone has any ideas.
Lastly, as far as I know all of my mods are up to date (I use Curse's addon maintenance program) but my Focus target refuses to work properly.
I rarely used Set Focus as a DPS, and now that I'm dual-specced heals, it has become very important. However, every time I try to Set Focus recently I get an error message stating something to the effect of "An addon has attempted to perform an action that can only be performed by a Blizzard module. Try disabling the addon and trying again." Am I missing something here?

If you use Pitbull, you can use Dogtags to show it on your target as 5 dots.
Once you have pitbull, you go to Target --> Text --> Create new text
Once you've made a new text, put in this:
[if HasAura("Maelstrom Weapon") then
".":Repeat(NumAura("Maelstrom Weapon")):Color("3399FF")
end]

My Enhance spec is now my PVP spec, and my Resto spec is for PVE.
Most of the changes I made were minor. I chose Titan Panel over FuBar (personal preference), Outfitter over ItemRack (it has Dual-spec support), added a mini options bar and my beloved Stalker mod (awesome for world PVP and BGs) on the right-hand side above Recount and Omen.
On the opposite side, I added a "click" action bar that I use for whatever, (frog-kissing macro for Argent Tournament quest anyone?) I'm always swapping things in and out of an action bar depending upon whatever I'm doing. I suppose this bar could easily be removed and the chat window heightened for symmetry if I didn't use it often.
As you can see, I've revived Aloft, which I noticed in Sixthy's UI pack, but it was non-functional. A working beta version of it can be found at Aloft (Beta) : WoWInterface Downloads : Beta-version AddOns.
You'll notice TotemTimers taking up a majority of the square box on the bottom right side of the screen. Beneath, I have a small action bar with macros generated by a nifty little addon called Buffet that automatically updates the 2 macros it makes to show the strongest food/drink or potion (if in combat) from your inventory. I have my PVP trinket macro here (I really enjoy PVP, if you can tell,) and the TotemTimers totem macro just to keep track of which totems I'm dropping and for easy totemic recall. In the center of the square box, (visible in the next picture) are cooldown bars; ability cooldowns with ShockAndAwe for my Enhance spec, and boss move cooldowns from BigWigs for when I'm in Resto. I've done my best to reduce overlap issues when DPSing a boss in Enhance by having the BigWigs bars cover the less vital cooldowns displayed by ShockAndAwe.
Getting ganked by 3 horde in Wintergrasp... I'm not in a raid group since I was late to the show, but I did not change Sixthy's Grid frames at all except to to change the buff/debuff icons to better suit my taste. I moved Elkano's Buff Bars to the other side so that large numbers of hostiles showing up on my Stalker would not overlap the bars. I'm still trying to figure out why class icons are not displaying on hostile player nameplate bars, but it may be due to the fact that this is a beta version of Aloft.
Lastly, for those that wonder why my bars are grouped in lots of 6 (3 columns of 2), it's because instead of using a keyboard with my left hand, I use a Microsoft Strategic Commander, a discontinued but absolutely awesome product I describe in detail in the Hardware Interface thread here.
6 mappable buttons (with 3 shift modifier buttons for 24 maps), 2 mappable "zoom" buttons, the ability to move and turn without ever touching a key... I can't say enough. Awesome. It even has a switch on the base to throw it into 3 other keymap settings, and a record button for on-the-fly recordable key macroing.
The irony is that my "mouse" is in fact another discontinued Microsoft product, the Microsoft Trackball Explorer. In my opinion, nothing beats the accuracy of an optical high performance trackball with 5 buttons and a scroll wheel.
Anyhow, I've wasted enough of your time. My thanks to Sixthy for this thread and helping me to finally find a UI I am satisfied with, even across 2 specs and a wide range of addons.

I was quite sad when my SC died . However, I've found a decent replacement in the Logitech G13 (Belkin's Nostromo n52 is also a replacement, but I feel the G13 is better). I plan on doing a "review" of the G13, and a UI post of my own at some point (via the blog), but that'll be a while away at this stage.
