Is this some sort of normal resist vs. a "critical" resist on the part of the mob? I guess I just mean to say, why isn't the amount resisted more of an even spread over a set range of numbers? Resists are always (from what I can determine) 10% or 20% of the non crit damage. So your 400-500 would fit about right though the higher bracket would be 800-1000. These would be a little higher during trinket procs.

Well in that case, I have absolutely no data that I could produce to "prove" there is a problem. Only previous misconceptions that are now cleared up. Thanks! Hope you guys don't pull your hair out too much trying to prove bigfoot doesn't exists, as Vistol put it. Heh.

Was wondering about missing max Dmg with Lavaburst, too. Although i was thinking Ele-Shaman must have been nerfed because in my opinion I lost DPS because players i normaly bet in damage suddenly catched me.

But no Bug was found... even during testing myself... i coundn't find anything.

Pre-Patch Dying Curse procced pretty often... even when cooking or deploying my totems. I think they fixed this now... could it be that the chance of hitting near the maximum with Lavaburst just has been reduced because of a lower chance of trinket proccs especially depending to Dying Curse most Ele-Shamans use, i think.

During the process of becoming more experienced with Ulduar and perfecting my movement I also noticed that dps were increasing again.

Just wanted to mention that there might be no bug with Lavaburst itself (likly there is none), but there might have been some change on the chance of trinkets to proc and so greatly decreasing the chance ob Lavabursts to crit with values like 13k and more.

[EDIT]Noticed this "Procs-when-cooking"-thing also with Mark of the War Prisoner. Having this fixed might create the illusion of a reduced Max-Crit of Lvb... especially when there are more trinkets like dying curse and the mark

They may well have fixed what can procc Dying Curse, but I have heard nothing about a change to its internal CD/procc rate. Given that its used by most caster DPS, I would have thought that would be all over the forums. A quick WWS check shows I got 8 Dying Curse proccs recently in a 7m06s Ulduar fight, so it looks unchanged.

There certainly is an issue where some people expect to see a clearcasting+trinket procc Lava Burst every time they cast the damn spell, and so complain about "losing" their 14k Lava Bursts when they don't.
