haste breakdown

Is there a post I am missing somewhere that breaks down haste per ticks on dots BEFORE any buffs? I like to read all of this and try to learn but at some point I would like to print off something. It is hard to just look at my character sheet and figure out if that is enough haste.

Also, if I am really far away from another tick for a dot is there a point to keep getting haste? If not where should I start replacing haste with crit/mastery and when should I ever reforge to mastery?

I am sorry if some of this is in a post somewhere. I am trying to catch up on all the posts.

So I've got a question. I just started using simcraft, mainly because I was curious as to what stats I should be reforging to for a DPS increase.

When I ran it this was my log.

and wondering a few things. Are those numbers based off of what my gear setup currently is? Therefore saying at my current gear level I should be reforging for haste instead of crit? To add to that question, after I've reached a certain point of haste will the numbers then change to where crit will be a more substantial stat?

Also another question regarding the haste cap for immolate ticks.

How does the game calculate haste?

Currently unbuffed I have 819 haste rating. Do I take that number and multiple it by 1.15 * 1.03 * 1.05(this is totem?) and that gives me my new haste number? Or is it additive.

Sorry for the seemingly simple questions, I'm just trying to understand all of the finer aspects of my class.

I believe I found a change to the Priorities list that would increase DPS for the Warlock_Destruction profile. I've certainly got some of the coding wrong, but I'll explain the idea in plain English. There are two possible situations when empowered imp procs. Either A) it procs at such a time that the user can wait a little and use the empowered imp proc to gain improved soul fire or B) it procs at such a time that waiting will not afford the opportunity to use the empowered imp proc to gain the improved soul fire buff (because it will expire before improved soul fire does)

Add this as the top priority so that soul fire is cast in situation A.
/soul_fire,if=buff.empowered_imp&buff.improved_soul_fire.cooldown_remains<(travel_time ).react

Remove this so soul fire is not cast in situation A (unless or until the above holds).
/soul_fire,if=buff.empowered_imp.react

Replace that which we just removed with both of the following to make sure soul fire is still cast in situation B.
/soul_fire,if=buff.empowered_imp&buff.bloodlust.react
/soul_fire,if=buff.empowered_imp&buff.improved_soul_fire.cooldown_remains>(buff.empowe red_imp.remains+travel_time).react

Also add something like this to the end of the current first priority so that soul fire is not hard cast when empowered imp is up and soul fire can be instant cast instead in a few GCDs (situation A).

&buff.empowered_imp.down

( so it looks something like this: /soulburn,if=buff.bloodlust.down
soul_fire,if=buff.improved_soul_fire.cooldown_remains<(cast_time+travel_time)&buff.so ulburn.up&!in_flight&buff.empowered_imp.down )

I am in a rush at work, I really don't have any time to work on this much so any help will be very much appreciated.

Edit: In case it wasn't clear why this would be a dps improvement, one hard cast soul fire + one instant cast emp.imp soul fire would be replaced with a few free GCDs (for whatever is next on the priority list at that time) + the instant cast emp.imp soul fire. Or equivalently, the hard cast soul fire would be replaced by 2-3 free GCDs. It may seem as though this is would be a rare occurrence and perhaps not worth the effort, but that's not the case. Improved soul fire lasts 15 sec and empowered imp + travel time is 8 sec + travel time which means more than half (on average) of the empowered imp procs should be saved until buff.improved_soul_fire.cooldown_remains<travel_time.

Also, as for execution in game it's actually quite easy. I, for example, have powerauras set up so that I get a timer when improved soul fire has 8 seconds left, and I also get a timer when empowered imp procs (which has 8 seconds as well). When empowered imp procs I just check if there's a timer that's popped up for improved soul fire or not, and if there is I know I can wait and not hard cast the soulfire. If not, and empowered imp soulfire is next on my priorities list, then I just use it as normal. I'm sure there are ways to accomplish something similar with other timer addons.

The scale factors are how much more dps you would get if you increased a given stat by one rating. You're interpreting it correctly, too, to answer both your second and third questions. What I've been doing, to save time reforging, is use WoW Reforge Calculator to find a more optimized reforged set of gear. Then take the "Result" you get at the bottom of that page, and plug them into your simcraft import. For example:

gear_spirit=10
gear_hit_rating=1760
gear_crit_rating=1026
gear_haste_rating=1232
gear_mastery_rating=622

You can plug those overrides into either simcraft's import window, or the "Overrides" tab and see how much your DPS changes, and what your new scale factors are. Using that website correctly for a given spec is an exercise left to the reader (i.e. stat caps), but you can learn more about it in its thread Optimal Reforger Calculator.

Summoning a Felhunter for the last 20sec of a fight for a last Demon Soul should be worth it as Affliction. You gain at least 6k dps for that time (20%*30k estimated execute dps), while losing ~2k pet dps. This should also outscale the value of an instant Soulfire, since thats only one additional Shadowbolt.
Over a longer time however, the 16.6% uptime of Demon Soul should not be high enough to compete with succy dps.

Starting with Felhunter and Soulburn a Succy after the first Demon Soul could also be beneficial for DrainAffliction.

I couldnt get my simcraft to model a pet change midfight. Does this have to do with the SummonMainPet void being flagged as useablePreCombat?

Edit: First belived I didn't get haste from ISF but it turns out I am.
Compared my output to the destruction pre-raid one in OP and assumed the "haste=33.67%|10.25%(1312)" came from ISF.
Looked things over and also found post #40 about the Witching Hourglass.... sry delete

Pre raid set: haste=23.39%|14.10%(1805)
T11 BiS set: haste=31.21%|21.33%(2731)

Nothing wrong there. Simcraft never displays the 15% extra haste from ISF because the raid buffed values are taken at the start of the fight, when you haven't casted SF yet.

This is pretty straightforward, but I would like to know where I can find the commands for trinkets, (Sorrowsong for example doesn't seem to be implemented correctly to me) I'd like to know for instance how to code "on use" trinkets, anyone know where I can find this?
Provided you are fine using the default action lists, the easiest way to integrate an "On-Use" trinket is to simply remove the "actions+=" lines from your profile so that they get re-generated.

Or just use the cmd-line in the gui instead of doing an import:

armory=eu,frostmane,fengrim trinket2=figurine__jeweled_serpent,id=52502

EDIT: Note that the name is required to confirm the ID number is what you expect.

I'm hearing rumors that Volcano now procs off of DoTs. That would make it incredible for affliction. Can anyone confirm this?

Per the 4.0.6 PTR patch notes, "Bell of Enraging Resonance can now trigger from any damage spell instead of only critical strikes."

I would be interested to see the updated simmed DPS for this trinket once this change takes effect. Perhaps Fael can update the trinket spreadsheet that was posted earlier in this thread.

Updated the sheet with the new Bell procc.
DMC:Volcano has ~26% uptime with destro, 24% with affliction(SB spam) and 21% with AffDrain.

Trinkets

Hi there!
Well, this is my first forum post in here. I've been looking in these threads quite often and very smart guys already asked, simcrafted and solved my questions. I'm sry for my bad english btw.

Back to topic

At the moment, i am looking forward to get a few trinkets from raids. And as i was looking through endless best in slot lists in forums, simcraft, rawr and so on I found this trinket quite often rated as BIS:

Heart of Ignatious

And i really don't know if i can trust simcrafts bis list or rawr.
Well, its a good stacking passive SP boost of 435 (you have to stack up often, so a little less) and additional, you've got 1815 haste with a cd of 2 minutes.
So, you've got ~400 Sp and 302,5 Haste all over the fight.

Let's compare to almost every trinket with int on int like Theralions mirror or even Witching Hourglass.
With int scaling three times better than haste and spellpower scaling nearly double times better than haste, every trinket with ~300 int on and any! secondary stat (even Darkmooncard: Volcano or Tyrandes favorite doll) would be better than the heart. And in nhc gear, i wont be able to get to the next haste-tick-cap.

Is there any brainlag in this statement?

To give this discussion some numbers:

DPS Gain for Various Trinkets

Assuming scale factors taken from ej for bis, might be slightly different on nhc lvl but not to much:
int=3,17, SP=2,39, haste=0,76, crit=1,18, mast=1,01

Heart of Ignatious (~350 SP and ~267 haste allover the fight): 1041
Witching Hourglass (285 Int and 342 haste allover the fight): 1164
Theralions Mirror (321 Int and 428 mastery all over the fight): 1451,01
Darkmooncard: Volcano (193 Mastery, 128 Crit (reforged), 320 int all over the fight, WITHOUT firedmgproc): 1361

No, I can not confirm this. Did a 5 minute test a few moments ago (EU realm) on a training dummy with Corruption, Bane of Agony and Unstable Affliction. Got multiple procs of the [Stump of Time], but no procs of [Darkmoon Card: Volcano].
