I would be more curious if the latest sim was completely modeled for helter skelter fight style in regards to KJC. Is there a good way to model how much movement before KJC (with its anti haste and movement snare) is a gain compared to running full speed while using say FF/agony/instants for aff? Can that be modeled for demo or destro?

Hey Zakalwe. It looks like the new Lvl85 profiles after the latest build are still considering Pandemic's effect when it's a Lvl 90 passive (Demo's exit meta corruption duration condition, the initial double application of Doom etc.). It looks like we're going to have to deal with the base duration of dots until then.

The simulator knows this, and you'll notice the affliction and destruction lists are adjusted accordingly. The point of the doom reapplication isn't so much to get it to 150% duration but to maximize the amount of ticks that benefit from dark soul. I made a slight adjustment to the conditional that turned out to be more optimal, but you still want to recast doom long before it runs out if you have dark soul up.

Gotcha about Doom. I'm still curious as to how the cancel_metamorphosis action (K) is being called then in the 85 profile. Since it's an '&' condition and Corruption will never go above 20 seconds without Pandemic or the EA glyph, I'm not sure how the sim is firing it.

I've been trying to do the meta-juggling on beta since the latest patch after adjusting the cancel condition on corruption to a number like 17 and I've found that it's much harder to bank Demonic Fury now for the Dark Soul burn phase. Before the EA change I gained so much per Corr duration I would even start using Meta to bleed off extra Fury before the DS cooldown is up.

Are you saying there was an unannounced change to how ToC's corruption extend/refresh works? It used to extend it to a max of 30 seconds or so, unrelated to the glyph.

EDIT: Just tested, and yeah, it doesn't extend beyond the initial duration now. It doesn't at level 90 with pandemic either, though.

I was wondering, unless I got it wrong, why is the Doomguard summoned at the start of the encounter? The tooltip in game says it does 20% more damage to targets below 20% health.

Wouldn't it be optimal to summon it ~1m10s before the encounter ends?

In the simulations, Bloodlust is used at the start of the fight. That, combined with other cooldowns like Dark Soul and trinkets, is a better than 20% boost to the Doomguard's damage.

In addition to what Zakalwe said, you would also notice a strong dps increase in any fight that allows you to summon more than once (think: H-Lich King). It's not terribly likely, but also not unprecedented in progression. However, there are mechanics that may alter the ideal time to summon (Magmaw, for example) - that's when you re-run the simulation with those conditions though!

It is kind of a misleading or at least un-intuitive tooltip though, I agree.

Quick thing about the current action priority lists:

I modified the destro profile to utilize on-use spellpower in conjunction with dark soul and CB usage and gained some dps from the original, especially on movement fights (check out the difference on the Light Movement especially). Trinkets lining up with CB dumps is way too beneficial to ignore. I think this will more accurately represent what occurs on most fights, and can potentially be game-breaking on mechanics like Magmaw's chained phase. Likewise, I think that skew may dictate gear selection somewhat. In addition, I've added in the Fel Flame,moving=1 line. The action list is behind the spoiler.

Also, is Windsong being modeled in the newest version?

Strictly speaking, it did before too, but now instead of "snapshotting" your stats, it will update dynamically with your buffs like Bloodlust/Heroism.

actions+=/soul_swap,if=buff.soulburn.up&num_targets>1
Soul Swap with Soulburn instantly applies Corruption, Unstable Affliction and Agony.

There seems to be some kind of a bug in the newest downlaodable version of simc(the two hour old one) - with the same preraid profiles I'm getting ~5% more dps than those posted here/on simulationcraft.org. Looks like it has something to do with the target's level - crit on all attacks is around 3% higher and reforging down to 8.33% of hit still results in not a single missed spell. Additionally, all the pet's melee attacks are normal, not a single glancing one, and the only change when switching from a raid boss to 5man heroic boss is ~250 melee pet dps.

Edit: Ah, target level is still 88 on both "PTR" and "Live" versions, even though player is 90.
Edit2: Adding target_level=93 in overrides seems to work just fine as a quick workaround.
