Hello, I searched this thread for any talks about Carrion Swarm and came up with nothing and that has my curiosity going....Carrion Swarm does more damage per DF than Void ray or Harvest life. Is there a reason as to why it is not in the simcraft for Demo AoE?

Changing the final line in the Destruction profile to trigger when mana was below 20% yielded an approximate gain of 300 DPS. Results may vary since my own test did not account for the Stormlash proc.

actions+=/chaos_bolt,if=burning_ember>2&mana.pct<20
EDIT: Got my hands on Simc 505-4 and observed an increase from 112483 to 112793 dps. This was observed with the following line in the Overrides tab.
override.stormlash=2

Hi all, I have a question regarding channeling of Malefic Grasp. Is it prefered to clip it at the end and for how much? I noticed a parameter in SimC action list where MG is "chain=1" but couldn't find and reference about it, what it actually represents.

Is the Goblin Dragon Gun, Mark II modeled at all, it is probably going to be a dps increase in AoE, maybe even single target.

So I was looking at the pre-raid profile for affliction and noticed the epic offhand. I tried to look it up on wowhead but only found a staff of similar name.
So it turns the name is wrong. It's actually called Inscribed Jade Fan and has more stats than what the SimC profile says.
Just a heads up.

Can anyone explain this strange output of simulationcraft ?

Spec : Affliction
Glyphs / Talents : Pretty much standard (i.e. with sacrifice).

Problem :
There is a high increase in DPS (~700) when haste reaches exactly 4198 (15.374% raid buffed). I could not find any additional dot tick associated with this haste value, or anything that makes this haste value a special one.

Here are the stats (gear-provided stats) of the sim (note that this value came out in many of my sims, not only this one) :

I was lvling as demon then i just turned 90 and became affliction again. When i got all my 463 gear i simcrafted my character and it said something like Int > SP > Mastery = Haste > hit(15%) > crit.
I may be wrong but i can't see how missing a haunt wouldnt fuck your whole dps. Then i decided to check some warlocks and they were all getting hit cap then full haste or even full mastery.
Now i'm pretty much lost. If it is a dps increase to not cap hit why i've never seen a single warlock doing it?

AFAIK Simcraft responds to misses (dots) on the next global, where as in game you're probably queuing something else while the miss occurs, and partially casting a grasp without all dots is always a loss.

This is not true - if you look at the action lists you'll see the expression "miss_react", which specifically forces the sim to simulate a human reaction time to dot misses.

1. Look at more warlocks. There are plenty of us out there putting up great numbers without hit capping.
2. Understand that it's a choice. Simcraft is a guide, not a bible. Also remember that Simcraft predicts dps averaged over the course of many many iterations. Uncapped hit may lead to higher average dps but also have a larger rng spread. So yeah, missing a haunt will suck, but you won't miss one every fight.

seems windsong have been fixed to proc from dot.
tho the simcraft still put it on less than 1% up time.

Both windsong and elemental force were hotfixed, and the sim has been updated accordingly in SVN.
