Hope you can help me, thanks.
Not exactley what you were asking, but in addition (after looking at your WoLs) you may tell your warlock to skill Sacrificial Pact so he can instantly break the cc (by sacrificing 50% of his current health).

I have some doubts about the 25% phase on the boss:

Should i use corruption-Hand of Guldan when the target is under 25%?
If i am in meta, should i use Soulfire or just keep spamming Touch?

Otherwise, is Flashfrozen Resin Globule (upgraded) a better trinket than LFR ones?

Destro haste vs mastery "Sweet Spot"

I have been trying to determine the best Stat weightings for my Destro Lock. Using SimulationCraft I'm getting even more confused. I run it and it says to go Haste all the way... then I reforge and run it again and it says Mastery all the way.

So Question... where is the "sweet spot"? Is there a soft cap(s) for Haste?

Appreciate any help...

Your situation indicates that both mastery and haste are valuable secondary stats. If I were you I'd look at the link below for a haste breakpoint and then go mastery afterwards:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...ZmFYa0E#gid=13

However, since the required amount of haste increases by a large amount in normal raid situation, I would pick a suaitable number during bloodlust/heroism, i.e. 4192 haste rating.

Then you sim your char and get some new stat weights, which you can then use to get an idea of what your prio for stats are:

hit to cap > haste to 4192 > *insert result of the sim here*

I hope this was helpfull

Generally, I run my dude through simcraft with no gems and reforging to figure out which stats I should reforge and gem to with my current gear. The stat weights are always going to change when you get more of said stat, especially something like haste as you get closer to a break point.

If you are running Grimoire of Sacrifice, Mastery > Crit > Haste, always. If you are running Grimoire of Supremacy, Haste > Crit > Mastery, always.

Do not rely on simcraft for destro. A key part of playing destro optimally is using Chaos Bolt only when damage buffs are active, including when you need to use one in between dark soul cooldowns. The Simcraft action priority list for destro is not able to capture this behavior.

For a better resource, try Brusalk's guide and video on MMO-Champion's warlock forums. He does an excellent job of explaining how this plays out in practice.

Ok, so I have a problem with my Warlock. When I simulate my character with Simulation Craft it shows that I should be able to do 74k dps, but I'm barely doing 65k. My spec is affli, and I think my rotation is good. It goes like:
- Cast Doomguard
- Dark Soul
- Soulburn + Soulswap
- Haunt
- Malefic Grasp
- Reapply DoTs that are almost finished
- Malefic Grasp
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Maybe it's because I'm not good ebough as Affli? Or maybe my rotation is bad?

@Edit:
I've just noticed, that SimulationCraft was simming with player on "Elite" skill level, but after changing to "Average" it showed 69k dps, so I still should be pulling out more. Plus, when I simulate myself but as Destro, I get 500 more DPS (simulations run on "Average" skill level, I don't know what it shows on fe. Elite). Does that mean that with my skill level I should be playing Destro?

remember to do not refresh dots while haunt is up, or haunt effect vanishes. make sure they all have at least 10 seconds left, before refreshing haunt

Are you sure about that ? I thought that debuffs on the target refresh dynamically dot ticks (as opposed to buffs on the caster that get snapshoted when the dot is refreshed or cast).

Debuffs on a target WILL change your DOTs. So if you have your DOTs on the target, then cast haunt, they will benefit from the extra 25% right away, no need to refresh your DOTs. If you do refresh your DOTs while haunt is active (say you get an int proc) the haunt debuff will NOT disappear, it'll still be doing it's thing by providing 25% more damage.

The only time you should refresh DOTs are when you gain BUFFS on your character, such as int, haste, mastery, or crit. How you refresh them depends on the spec and fight.

I am wondering what is the best way to use the Essence of Terror's haste proc, which is about 7k haste over 20 sec. Is it best to immediately reapply dots regardless of pandemic range or wait for when dots are within range? I am trying to get the most out of this 20 sec as possible. Also, I remember reading somewhere that MG does not gain extra ticks with haste. Does anyone happen to know if this is true?
Thanks

While that's true, it's not complete. Rather than gain extra ticks, MG's channel time is reduced by haste. So the effect on dps is the same, the aspect of the spell which haste does not benefit is the mana consumption.

Really Simple Answer: It depends on the situation, the gear level and the player.

The reason you don't understand the answers you're being given is because you expect to be able to reconcile them with a chart that has embedded assumptions about fight conditions, and perhaps coding bugs, that don't exist in real game situations.

If you had specific context you were interested in a more specific answer could be given, like:
Which spec is best on a patchwork fight at 522 ilvl?
Which spec is best for sustained AoE lasting more than 30 seconds?
Which spec is the best for Phase 1 of fight X?

Those are better questions to ask, simply because the answers can be more definitive and satisfying.

Here is a simplified question to that:

What is the current high DPS spec for some one at iLVL 480 not using proc's from any tier gear.

A lot of us are seeing Demonology being posted as the new king of DPS on various places and wondering if it's true or not, without wanting to spend the gold on re-gemming and re-enchanting to find our for ourselves.

I'm also seeing folks report that having a pet out with GoSup instead of GoSac in affliction is producing higher DPS until you can get the T15 gear that improves Haunt, any input on that is appreciated.

Last I saw it was claimed Demo is giving almost 7k DPS over Affliction - I'm wondering how true that really is.

Let's assume the player has the proper enchants and gems for their respective spec, the proper glyphs and talents chosen, and knows their rotation at an above average level, as well as being raid competent.
